I’m new to Fitbit, my daughter has just bought an Inspire, and I can’t work out how to set it up for her as a child when creating a Family account

I so wish I had found this thread before buying my daughter a Fitbit for her 9th birthday!
My eldest daughter and I have Fitbits and my youngest wanted to join us. As it was such a “sophisticated” gift she obviously didn’t want the Ace which looks like a kids toy so I got her an Inspire. It appears to have the same functionality as the Ace so I don’t understand why it can’t be set up for a child.
Come on Fitbit, keep up and listen to what kids want! I think there are very few 8+ that would think the Ace looks cool (which isn’t probably a very uncool word for a mum to say!).

It is dire, sort this out Fitbit. Do you want people to buy and use your products or not. What on earth are you thinking with this and why hasn't it been resolved? Sort it out.

And to top it off, it is not compatible with her Fire tablet!
So now my daughter has aged 4 years in a day and has to log into my phone to use her main birthday present.
If it wasn’t for friends and family that she wanted to connect with it would have gone straight back to the shop

How the leader in fitness technology can so utterly fail in their ability to create a usable family account is beyond me. The only reason I can imagine that devices other than the Ace line can't be used on child accounts is to preserve the ability to charge for in-app purchases and up-sell to services.
