Fitbit Update 05/11/2018: We have released Fitbit OS 2.1 to 100% of Versa users (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15).

Hi, everyone! Smiley Happy

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT’S NEW

Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

WHAT’S FIXED

This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.

I recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Hey, all!

I noticed a lot of you mentioning you're no longer receiving text notifications after the Fitbit OS 2.1 update, from Message+ on your Android devices. We've escalated this issue to our team for investigation. For the meantime, I recommend using the default texting app on your Android device or any other messaging apps.

I'm tracking this issue on the Android board, so please follow along there for updates.

I updated the latest update for versa watch and now cannot get notified of text messages and some email notifications. I was getting them before the update. Called tech support and they could not figure out a solution. The case number I was given yesterday is 24804199. I am getting phone call and calendar notifications but nothing from text messages. Tech support had me go thru changing all different settings, but unable to fix. Sorry I did the update. Tech support said I would just have to wait until they can figure it out. Must be a glitch in the software update v32.32.10.15

@KerriLF I'm lucky that I have a Charge 2 to fall back on. Takes a bit of the sting away from the Verge not functioning as expected.

The communication issue is actually more frustrating than the less than stellar Verge performance. Personally, I think they would be miles ahead saying they screwed up and are working on fixing the various issues. Also the fact that there just isn't one issue, but many issues. The sleep issue you are experiencing, text and message issues, app issues and my favorite, adding steps and floors while driving. If they categorized complaints and told us each would be tackled in turn and then give us an estimated time line for correcting each in turn, I think most of us would understand. But, it seems they are more interested in playing a defensive game and start off with the conclusion that the problem is operator error. Yes, it is embarrassing to admit mistakes were made. So, start there and share what is being done to correct the problems.

The reason I decided to upgrade to the Verge was the stellar performance of the Charge 2. I don't know if it went through a similar set of birthing pains. But, since day 1, the Charge 2 has performed flawlessly. So, discovering a new and better upgraded product failed to equal or better the performance of the Charge 2 came as a shock.

I'm tempted to toss the Verge in a drawer and forget about it for six months or so and hope they have the issues worked out. Originally, I was going to hand my Charge down to my daughter. But, she can wait since I bought her a Flex that she is happy with. I toyed with the idea of letting her use the Versa, since she drives far less that I do. But, she may end up bing another frustrated Versa user.

Sorry to hear that. I'm also concerned about the possibilities of Versa, if
we examine both watches ( Pebble and Fitbit). Pebble has so many points
over Be, that I keep questioning myself, why didn't this people at Fitbit,
simply make a clone from the watch and brand they bought? It's really a
paine in the **ahem**....
For the time being, I managed to sent a a preset reply from Versa, but it
never reached the other side. (This was a response over WhatsApp}. Looks
very poor.....

So there is another update .20? Mine still show .15

@Jayelo wrote:

I just got my replacement Versa. Set up was smooth and easy. Got everything working. I’m on firmware .15 so even with a new Versa I still didn’t get the .20 version so I guess I gotta wait till it’s my turn for that update. Still gotta test the steps accuracy, sleep track, and all those issues people have to see if I got them.

Has anyone been able to get the .20

update within  the last day or two? I did a factory reset yesterday and today and still only have .15. I’m having syncing issues, workout issues and sleep activity issues. I have an iPhone 8plus

@mscali82 I talked to a Fitbit agent yesterday asking about the newer new update and he said Fitbit has released it to 25% of their customers (as of yesterday at least) and that they are slowly making their way to everyone. Seems like they'll release it soon, maybe in the next week or so, but I wouldn't expect it to be too soon.

@mscali82 Yeah I see some users have the .20 and some said they forced it through a factory reset and were able to get the newest update. I had a replacement versa and set it up and everything and still ended with the .15 version but I’m ok. I’ll wait. My Versa is working well so I’m not gonna do anything to it. I’m hoping when I do have to update to .20 it won’t ruin what my Versa can do now.

Thanks I’ve been factory resetting since I bought it Saturday because nothing will work or sync but just tried it again and still have .15

Twice now I've reach my step goal as a passenger in a car doing nothing. Way to go fitbit.

After this firmware update, my Fitbit cannot store my whatsapp msg. When I swipe down, it will give me "Nothing new here, you are all caught up", however, I did not delete any msg at all.

I am finding that the Versa vibrates when a new notification comes in but when I check the watch, it just "shows nothing new here all caught up". So Im not even seeing the notification unless I'm actually doing something on the fitbit at the time the notification comes in! I preferred the first software version where it would not delete the messages without doing it yourself. Why are the messages disappearing?

I have had the same issue since the update. Initially I thought the text messages were not coming thru, and I am now noticing most email are not coming thru also. Every once in a while I will see an email on the versa, but am getting more emails showing up on the android phone than versa is reporting.

I just realized that I did not get the .20 update either. It remains .15. That's probably the reason why nothing changed! 😊

My notifications keep reappearing over and over again, even though the emails have been deleted through my phone.

Mine updated yesterday, and since then the face on my Versa does not update automatically to the steps I have taken (it stays on the last amount I was on).  I need to tap it a couple of times to get my accurate count, which is really annoying.  Any fix to this issue?  TIA!

How did you get the 32.32.10.20 version?  I have the .15 and can't find the .20 anywhere.  I'm asking since you "forced" the update and was wondering if that would fix some of my versa issues.
