Hey, everyone! Just wanted to thank you all for your participation in this thread.

Since the majority of Versa users have successfully updated to OS 2.1.1 (v32.32.10.15) I have decided to close this topic from further comments.

Fitbit Update 05/11/2018: We have released Fitbit OS 2.1 to 100% of Versa users (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15).

Hi, everyone! Smiley Happy

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT’S NEW

Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

WHAT’S FIXED

This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.

I recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

So... After a million restarts, uninstalling etc, and speaking with customer service (who knew absolutely nothing and did absolutely nothing to help me ) ... Suddenly my Coach started working again.  Thank God ! I'm crossing my fingers that the wind doesn't blow the wrong way and mess it up again . Good luck to everyone with the updates.

Mine is not syncing again... same deal keeps trying and now it is draining itself and my phone from trying all day. Turning off all day sync does nothing.

Any idea how long? My Alta wouldn’t receive any text or phone notifications for like 6 months and they said they were working on a fix, but it still isn’t fixed.

I don’t want to keep losing steps in my competitions every day so I will have to switch back to my Alta for now.

Same issues here with my versa.  My notifications worked like a champ prior to the update and now nothing.  I dealt with Fitbit last night and again today....did EVERYTHING to try to get it to work and all they said was that my phone isn't compatible with the versa.  Really?  it worked great prior to the update and now nothing.....and that's the one thing I liked about the fitbit is notifications.  All she said was she will forward my issue to the fitbit team.  Whoopy do.  I still don't receive notifications.

Please try what has worked for me, remove the versa from the fitbit app. then re add the versa, but skip setting up wifi. my notifications and that work fine. yes its a work around for now

I have had my fitbit for about 3 weeks now. The first week was rough and I'd have to delete the app and restart everything to get notifications. I just received the new update yesterday and can no longer receive any notification. All notifications are turned on, sound is on and correct apps are selected. I've tried to reset the versa and app with no luck. This update has not helped, is there a way to go back to the previous update for firmware.

Same! They did NOTHING to help me when I called. Just sent me an email and
said to reply to it, if I was still having problems. I STILL haven't heard
back from them. Customer service is pretty **ahem**ty. I even had one girl tell
me, you don't get personalized workouts on the watch. It stays the 3
workouts that the factory put on it. I had been using it the personalized
workouts for over a week, but according to her I'm crazy. Their customer
service doesn't even know basic info about the watch! Thankfully it started
working on its own. I'm currently crossing my fingers and doing a
ritualistic dance in hopes it stays working. 😂😂

I have to say, I think I like the old update better... I mean both have their pros and cons.

There are some things that I don't like about the new update:

1) Once you clear the notification on your phone, it clears on your Versa too and vice versa

2) My battery has started to drain more. Before it lasted 4.5-5 days now it can last 4, maybe if I don't use it a lot 4.5 days. And I don't store music, I don't use Fitbit coach that often or exercise, I have half of my app notifications turned off, and most of the times, I'm too far from my phone to even get them. 2 hours ago I was at 89%, now I'm at 86%.

3) Notifications appear slower. More in specifically, text and call. Sometimes they don't pop up at all.

Not related to the update but my band is starting to wear out☹️ Almost as fast as my Charge HR band wore out but I guess I thought Fitbit would make it tougher.

What I do like:

1) Notification page looks before. Athough I don't like how when I click on a notification, I have to click on the left button to get rid of it. I like how it was before how you click on it to expand and click again to compress. Also, I think the Clear button (when you click on it) is kind of pointless because you can just swipe the notification to the right to clear it. But that's just my opinion, other people have their own😊. Apart from that, I think it looks so much better, I can't remember what it looked like before but when I first got the update I was like "wow, that looks better!" and I still like how it looks, with normal notifications being white but text messages being green and missed calls, red.

2) Before, when it synced I couldn't use it until after it finished syncing, I would see a black screen but now, it still lags but it's getting much better, I can still use it when it's syncing.

No idea if it's just me but sometimes when I'm swiping between pages of apps, it lags. and when I pull up the quick view/notifications, it also lags. It looks like it's glitching but I know it's not so I'm not worried.

Just some feedback:)

@sarah_lin8 Thanks for your detailed feedback on the 2.1 - Fitbit OS update. It is super helpful in determining bug fixes and improvements for the next update. Hope you're still happy with your Versa! Smiley Happy Please check out our wear and care recommendations for how to keep the band in great condition.

@Jenn5366 @tlangin I'm glad you both are back on track with your Versa's. Some features are harder to troubleshoot than others, which is why we have this Community platform so everyone can offer their peer to peer support. With each new firmware update, we include bug fixes and improvements. Please stay tuned for the next release.

@luvswhippets Hey, there! I checked in with our Customer Support team and could not locate a case associated with the email address on this account. Please let me know if you have a case already or if you would like me to create one for you. Right now it won't be possible to force the next Firmware update to your watch. I will make it known when the next firmware update is released. I'm sorry you're having difficulty with Notifications. To make it clear, the quick reply option is available for Android devices running Android OS 5.0+. To read more, please check this article out.

Two things:

Try the Layers clock face (fitbit clock face).

Turn off the quick view.

Good luck!

I've tried a different text messaging app, restarts, switching from WiFi to network. So frustrated!! It was working fine prior to update. Ready to box it up and send it back!

Yes I'm still having issues so please open a ticket for me. And my phone Android is 7.0 so definitely enough to work with the Versa.

Thanks!

@AlessFitbit Also after the new update, I stopped getting bedtime notifications. I tried everything but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm still hanging on to my Versa because I know Fitbit will release a new update soon!

I have an android phone. The OS version is 6.0.1. A week ago I updated my Versa to 32.32.10.15. According to everything you have said, I should be able to do quick replies on my versa. But I can't. I am only able to set up quick reply defaults in the app. When I get the text notification on my Versa, it only says "clear" or "mark as read".

For those of us that should have the option to quick reply but can't, do you have a fix?  And if not, when can we expect one?

Repeated question from so many Android users in multiple threads that obviously no one reads - this is the Fitbit forums' biggest flaw in organizing their thread topics - there is none. Let me clarify so everyone is on the same page and stops asking. Also, maybe @AlessFitbit and others can escalate this as a serious issue to the developers.

If you are on a version of android that is below nougat (android 7), you will not be able to reply because android in-line reply (which fitbit seems to rely on for quick replies) is only available on android 7 and above. So, what does this mean? You can only clear and mark your notifications as read.

You'll just have to wait on an update where they fix this and make it backwards compatible for versions pre-android 7.

If you figure something out, post it here since most of the 16,618 eyes read this thread. At least it will eliminate the amount of redundancy in this Versa forum.

Edit:  please test and try the following if they allow you to quick reply once configured for your specific texting/messaging application.
