Fitbit versa stopped working suddenly

My fitbit versa stopped working all of sudden.

Tried many tips provides on the community forum but in vein.

 

Problem: Black screen (rather nothing on the display), if I put it on charger, it shows 0% for 1 sec and then 100%. If I take it off the charge, it’s dead again.

Tried unlinking it from the iPhone app, re-configured again but no luck still.

Have a feeling that the watch has given up.

 

This is important for me because I took part it National Walking Month event and I need to ensure my steps are accurately captured.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Nope! got a replacement device from fitbit which is working fine until now.

Hi, restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons together untill you see after each restart the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. This will reset the internal system of your Versa. If that does not work, contact Customer Support, and tell them what you already did to solve the problem.

Yes, I tried that but no luck, it just won’t start up.
I have emailed to customer services, lets see what they come back with.

I am trying the reset solution for my Versa. It was fully charged over night, put it on this morning and it was dead by noon.  Hoping it works - will let you know.  If it doesn't, I guess the next step is customer service....

Hope it works for you, didn't work for me though.
Contacted customer support and they are sending a replacement.

went from bad to worse.   now it is not updating anything and moving my wrist does not cause it to display anymore.  I have to press the left button but the only thing that changes is the time

Hi, long press the left button to show the activity screen and see if the Screen activation is on manual or automatic. If manual, set it to automatic.

@SunsetRunner it is a lot easier to simply go through the swing on the Versa ans do a shutdown. Multiple restarts agree only needed on trackers that can not be properly shutdown.

Me too! Had my Versa replaced last week since the original (that was working fine until I did the software update two weeks ago!) stopping working and the new one is still not working!! Ironically, the original Versa is now no longer available on their website!

The original Versa has been replaced by the Versa 2. Not very ironic is it. Kind of like the Blaze which was replaced with the Versa is no longer sold. Or Ford stopped selling 2018 cars in 2019.

My fitbit versa bought in June 2018 also stopped working while on vacation as i was not using it.

I have contacted Support and they created a case. Will they replace it under warranty since the warranty is only 1 year? Lots of users seem to have this problem. Hope they do replace mine.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get a replacement device as fitbit promised.

Its a shame that there’s no better resolution for this battery issue yet.

Unfortunately no, support only offered me a 25% discount on the purchase of a new fitbit device.

No troubleshooting whatsoever. So they expect us to keep buying these faulty devices everytime our fitbit is out of warranty. I don't think i will ever buy a fitbit device again.

I was wanting to reply to you because I have had my versa for a while but it seems I can charge it & it would be fine I go & take it off & then it stops working then the charger it was like it would get really hot like burning up have you had this happen to you I had to send it back for a replacement it's like here we go again huh makes me so upset
