Fitbit versa stopped working suddenly

My fitbit versa stopped working all of sudden.

Tried many tips provides on the community forum but in vein.

Problem: Black screen (rather nothing on the display), if I put it on charger, it shows 0% for 1 sec and then 100%. If I take it off the charge, it’s dead again.

Tried unlinking it from the iPhone app, re-configured again but no luck still.

Have a feeling that the watch has given up.

This is important for me because I took part it National Walking Month event and I need to ensure my steps are accurately captured.

Any help is highly appreciated!

So I am having the same problem. It was 0 after charging before bed, and then 100 when I put it on and then black screen. I did the reset once and it says it’s 9%. Trying to charge again

My fitbit too randomly shut off and wont show anything on the screen. Tried all reset options and contacted customer support. Because I'm outside the warranty window they only offered me 25% off. This is obviously a fault on their end if so many are having issues with it. The Versa was my 2nd device in less than 5 years. I will NEVER buy a Fitbit again.

I'm in the same boat!  My fitbit was working fine until I did the upgrade and then is stopped working. And they offered me 25% on a new one.  Why would I buy another one?  That's how you handle your loyal customers?

My Versa just bricked as well.  Was working fine, down to 25% battery, got an email the battery was low, then black screen.  Left it on the charger over-night.  No charging indication while on the charger, and no response this morning.  No response to restart/reset whatever.  Just black screen. And the charger definitely works, as my wife's is charging right now.

They offered me 25% off a new one.  A bunch of crap.

By this time fitbit should understand one thing that nobody’s going to buy junk from them at 25% discount; either they fix the broken ones or send a replacement, no point in selling crap to up the sales figures.

Thank you for your post on how to reset the Versa. My watch is only 15 months old and I tried to take it back to Costco, but I didn't have the extra band, they wouldn't take it. I was heartsick and didn't know what to do. I googled the question, does anyone have a Versa that just stooped working and saw your reply. It is now working, Yea!!! My question to you is, what caused it to shut down?

Did Fitbit replace it?  Did you have it for under 365 days?  Mine has done the same thing, but because I've had it for 17 months, I am only offered a 25% discount off a new device.  As if I'd buy another one!

Same thing happened to me.  Won't buy another.  I'm going back to Garmin.

clsikes (Jogger), I didn't call them, I got a reply from SunsetRunner that told me how to fix it and so far it's working. This is what he said to do: Restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower button together until you see after each restart the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. This will reset the internal system of your Versa. It worked for me, I ope it works for you!

The exact same thing just happened to me. I had a blank screen that was lit with the backlight. It was still synching until I tried to update the new tracker update. My app all of a sudden could not find my versa anymore. I decided to try and factory reset it (all 3 keys) since nothing else was working. It vibrated a few times and went off. It will no longer turn on.

Just had a brief chat with customer support who told me it was out of the warranty period and offered me a 25% discount to buy a new one. I have never gotten the watch wet and have been very careful not to damage it. Ridiculous that it just quit working and will not be buying a new one just to replace it after a year and a half.
