How do I delete the Alexa app entirely from the Versa 2? If I decide I want it later, I'll download it. But for now, I just want it deleted. Thanks.

You are not able to delete alexa.

Hi @DMac123, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As it turns out, just as @Rich_Laue shared with you, it's not possible to delete the Alexa app from your Versa 2. However, you can follow the below steps to disable such feature from your device:
Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be around.

Do it vocalizations still get captured and sent to Amazon? Is there a way to disable the microphone at a hardware level? Is it used for anything else?
This Alexa app is the reason I have not upgraded from Versa

The microphone only gets turned on when the user activates it. See the Alexa FAQ
As mentioned above, and in the user manual, you may assign the left button to music.

@ionFreeman According to Fitbit's Alexa help article, Fitbit does not collect audio clips. As it stands, the microphone isn't used for anything else. On the Versa 2 device settings (on the watch itself), when you go to Settings (the gear), then scroll down, there is an option to disable the microphone. Even with the microphone enabled, Alexa is not listening all the time. Part of the Alexa set up is that you make Alexa the button shortcut of the back button. You must press and hold the button to activate Alexa.
I think this answers all your questions, though not in the order you asked them.
For those users who don't want to use the app, a good thing to do is to move it to the last page of your apps, moving it away from the apps you really use.

Can you help me even find the Alexa app for my Versa2? I would appreciate it!

Hold in the button for a couple of seconds.
This can be changed to a swipe down through settings in the app.

I never logged into alexa on my fitbit but cannot get off the set up request. If allows you to skip set up but that doesn’t take it off

You should only be receiving the setup request when trying to access Alexa.
Use settings to switch the button to musi .

Look, obviously FitBit knows better than us mere users, and eventually we'll come to our senses and realize how wrong we are to think that just because we bought something, we have any say in how it operates and if we want to give Amazon access to highly sensitive personal information. Just lie back and think of England.

I would say ignore the app and configured the button to start up a different app.

Am 100% with you. Think I may return the Versa 2 and go back to the Versa Lite. Better to be safe than sorry.

I agree. I switched from my Versa Lite to the newer Versa 2 but this is one of the reasons. Either wear the old Versa Lite or reevaluate the pros and cons of having a tracker device at all.

Thanks but I see no option to log out, only to sign in with Amazon

You first have to log in before you are able to log out.
Two options I see
Add the Google
Or as mentioned above, through the settings, remove Alexa from the quick start. Then you can not accidently call up alexa.

Ricardo, this doesn't work. Alexa doesn't have a log out option, only "get started" - which then opens a web page to open an alexa account. Quite annoying. I just want not to see the alexa icon in the app on my phone, and also not see it on my versa 2 screen. Is there a way to accomplish that? Rich mentioned going to settings and removing alexa from quick start, but there's no such option that I can see.
I hate when marketing takes over our lives. Would be nice to have control.

I would LOVE to get Alexa off my Fitbit. Could you flag that for updates?
Unless, of course, there is a reason that Fitbit has to have it on. I which case I'll either sell my Fitbit or yeet it into a river.
