My left button isn’t working on my Versa. Managed to do a factory reset but now it is stuck on the “hold for shortcuts” start screen. I can’t clear this as my left button doesn’t work. Help ???

Versa updated yesterday... left button doesn’t work anymore. Can’t reset. Only button that works is top right. Please Fitbit help!

I have the same issue. Tried all the above but it is still not working. What is the next step here?

I contacted Fitbit directly. I had to send back the tracker in order for it to be replaced under warantee.
They received it 3 days ago (I sent it USPS with a tracking #), but they have not let me know if the replacement has been sent yet.

Same exact thing is happening to me too!! It's so annoying and I don't know how to fix it since my left button isn't responding!

So I contacted Fitbit “support” and even though it was their update that messed up my buttons, they said they couldn’t do anything since my versa was out of warranty. So they bricked my device and all they could give me was 25% off a new one. Sounds pretty shady to me. Planned obsolescence.

It's crazy! They told me the same thing - said that they are aware of the issue and are continually updating and improving their products but as my watch it out of warranty, I need to purchase a new one!!! They must think we are all rolling in the cash and can just fork out for new devices every other year due to a technical error on their side! Not impressed at all.....

Did you ever get yours fixed? Mine has been broken for almost a year now. It’s only been a burden just recently cause I can’t get out of the music section.

Nope, they refused as they said it was out of warranty - even though it is a manufacturing error that Fitbit are aware of!!! The told me to buy a new watch and when I asked what guarantee I had of this not happening again I was told that they have fixed this error with the newer version - to me that is an admission of the problem in the first place but they still didn't want to take responsibility. Very disappointing as I have always been a fan of the Fitbit. Unfortunately the warranty period in South Africa is only 12 months compared to most other countries where it's 24 months - also don't understand that one?!?!

left button will never be fixed. it is entirely prone to stucking up especially if it is always subjected to sweat and moisture or if u wear it during shower. the only solution is to actually get a new one, maybe an upgrade. unfortunately, mine is out of warranty. I had to give it one more shot. now using versa2. if it gets stucked again even if this watch is helpful for me, I might just switch to other brands. I hope fitbit considers extending the warranty, say 24 months at least,
to users esp if this is always happening to many of its users.

@RicardoFitbit Hello,
I thought I’d answer your old email directly, since my Versa (1) has exactly the same issue as you addressed in an old post. I contacted the helpdesk via the chat. I restarted it several times and finally just reset to factory settings. That seemed to help, but after we broke contact, the old situation appeared gain. It is as if internally the left button is activated, resulting in the shortcut and a buzz of the watch. Can you help with this?

Same here. It wasn’t working so I factory reset and is still not working. I tried using air in a can as well.

Same with mine. Left button doesnt work anymore and it gets stuck on an exercise screen or some other screen. My newest issue is that it can't sync the time which is not acceptable since I work in an emergency department and depend on my watches accuracy. I really like my fitbit but reading similar issues with no resolve I feel like I have no choice but to shop for a different watch with another brand and not recommend fitbit to friends, family, coworkers, and patients. Very unfortunate.

I had a similar issue but not necessary as acute as described. My left button was functioning really intermittently. My solution was to apply a couple of drops of the purest alcohol one can get hold on to and work the button. This dislodged the accumulated dirt and it is now working properly.
Needless to say - if the device is under warranty let fitbit to deal with it

I have the same problem too, can’t do a factory reset as that requires you pressing the left button in. When I press it nothing happens. I thought if I deleted it and repaired with my phone it would fix but now my phone can’t find it to sync with so basically useless, even though it does tell the time
