I've had my fitbit versal light for less than 7 months and it has a completely black screen and will not charge at all. My fitbit app can't even find it.  I've tried all the steps posted on the help board and nothing works. There is no way to restart it as it does nothing.  Just a dead black screen and a battery that won't charge.

I tried contacting support but they are no where to be found. Really disappointed. If there is a fitbit representative here please contact me regarding a replacement.

@JuanJoFitbitand @RobertoME - I have tried all your suggestions and followed the instructions in the links provided however my Fitbit Versa still only holds charge for approximately 7hrs.  I even did a factory reset hoping this would resolve it and nothing has changed.  Why all of sudden after the last firmware update have I been having these problems?  Nothing has changed in the way I use it or the settings I have and I have had my Fitbit for well over 2 years!  Please do not recommend that I purchase a new one as this is not an acceptable solution to the issue.

Mine doesn't even hold a charge. It's just flat out dead.

Same here.

I contacted support and they told me I purchased it in April of 2019 which wasn't true I purchased it in September of 2019. The told me me I was out of luck because the one year warranty had expired even though they had the wrong purchase date.  I'm really frustrated with fitbit.

Same with mine! It says it is charged to 100% but then it only lasts a few hours (less than 10 hours) before it is completely empty.

I have tried all of the suggestions in your earlier article as well, still no good.

I am having the same issue. I have had the versa for 2 years now. I even bought a new charger and nothing worked.

Can someone from customer service help us out?

Best Answer

Mine also went from holding less n less of a charge and then going dead and now not coming back on.  I think the suggestions about maximizing the battery life is odd.  Those are the features and things we bought the device.  To turn off those features/functions defeats the purpose of buying such a device.  Mine worked just fine until about the middle of May 2020 and I had just purchased it Dec. 2018.

Not happy.

I spoke to someone from tech support and they couldn't do anything about it. They basically said oh well.

wow @myy123456  what a response and says all really ... such a shame as I have a feeling they will lose a lot of customers over this debacle.  I loved all my Fitbits that I've had since 2015 but not anymore.

I have reset my versa, i have never had the battery draining applications turned on, but suddenly my versa stopped holding a charge. It will last about a day. My Fitbit is less 2 years old. How can i fix this??

Best Answer

Mine will not even charge anymore, I probably will never buy another one, sad part is I loved mine. But the lack of them caring that they caused an issue with no fix is horrible

I contacted Fitbit via the Twitter DM they advised me to fully charge it to 100% and then synch the app on my phone regularly so they could see how much charge it was losing. I synchros it every hour and it lost all the charge in about 10 hours. So I replied and told them this and they agreed to replace it, I have a new one now and all is working well.

Mine was already 2 years old so it is not under warranty anymore, but it worked great until the software update. After that it would not hold a charge for more than 6 hours, now it will not charge at all.

Ricardo Fitbit, I have to question WHY a big company like Fitbit cannot fess up and say: "Yes, we issued a bad firmware update that is causing your batteries to die and we are working on a patch" instead of the robotic suggestions to turn off features unitil your battery lasts a little longer!  I bought mine in late March of this year and it worked great for 2 months with 2 to 4 days per charge.  In late May/early June something changed the battery life (the update?) when I made no change.  I have followed all the battery life extension suggestions to no avail.  Please stop "sticking your head in the sand" and come up and face this problem in a forthright manner!

Exactly! I have gotten in contact with Fitbit a couple of times and they are not willing to help at all.

My Versa is doing the same thing, will not hold a charge, red light stays on, no heart rate or sleep score.

We need help with this!
