Quick replies sending multiple messages.

When replying to text messages from Versa, messages are sent three times. Using Pixel 3 and Google Messages app. Anyone else with this problem?

@purefit @PartyWave269 @SunsetRunner Thank you guys for sharing your firmware versions. @MarcoGFitbit it seems the issue affects Pie - Pixel users and is related to expired notifications stuck in Fitbit mobile app notification channel. Clearing expired notifications by phone reboot seems to temporarily resolve the issue. Could you please pass this along to Fitbit team? Thank you!

I have a LG 7 Thinq using Tmobile's messaging and my phone sends multiple replies.  Today it sent 3.  Previously it sent 7 or 8.  It hasn't always done it though.

I just popped the Versa out of the box yesterday and updated it immediately. I have an Essential Phone. All quick replies send 9 messages at a time. Any kinda of help would be wonderful.

Happening here, too. Just got the versa yesterday, updated it to latest firmware, tested it today, and quick reply and emoji both sent 6 messages each . Pixel 3 on T-Mobile  Using standard Google messages app.

I'm having the same issues, Pixel 2 XL. I've tried with pixel messenger and Google Hangouts and both are resulting in triple messages. Any suggestions?

I'm having this issue as well. Any time I use the quick reply, my response appears to be sent 7-9 times to the message. A few times, no response came through. I'm also experiencing an issue where when I go to reply to a message, it says "This notification has expired and is no longer valid versa."


I have a Pixel 3 phone on Verizon. This seems to have been an ongoing issue that you can't resolve. The ability to reply to text messages was one of the reasons I purchased this watch. But if that feature is not usable, I'm considering returning it.

I'm new to this whole fitbit thing. I just got the Versa for Xmas. How can I link my apps? I tried looking at apps to link and I don't see any of my messanger, whatsapp, etc.

Hi,

 

Make sure your bluetooth on your phone is on. Then you can go to settings on your phone. You want to make sure you sync your watch and your phone (e.g. connecting it to bluetooth).

 

To my knowledge, the apps don't operate separately, you just have a messaging app--so if someone messages you via Google Hangouts, you'll get that as long as you've indicated you want those in settings.

I ended up restarting my phone and it now works...try that if you haven't.

The truth of the matter is the Fitbit shouldn't be advertising that their Versa watch is compatible with Pixel phones because right now, they aren't.

I have this issue with the Pixel 3 replying via the Googke Messages app as well as in Google Hangouts.  Restarting the phone seems to fix the problem for a while but then the problem reappears.

Pixel running Android Pie. My Ionic with the latest firmware (released late December 2018) sends between 6 and 9 replies in the default Android Messages app. I learned that multiple responses were also sent with the prior version of ionic firmware also. I'm not testing other messaging apps. This should work properly with the default messaging app.  And rebooting my phone is not a solution, either. There is clearly a bug
