When replying to text messages from Versa, messages are sent three times. Using Pixel 3 and Google Messages app. Anyone else with this problem?
Moderator Edit: Clarified Subject.
@Ryanlacor Please check if this issue/suggestion has already resurfaced on the Feature Suggestion Forum. It's not exactly a feature per se, but it's a good way to draw attention of the mods, voting and getting updates on the progress. As far as I managed to gather, this bug affects mainly Pixel users, and not all of them. Perhaps that's why it's difficult to reproduce.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. ![]()
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for keep reporting this situation. It seems this issue affecting only Google Pixel phones and at this moment our team is aware of the situation and working to find why it's only affecting this specific models. Thanks for your patience and understanding, if anything changes, please let us know. Happy stepping!
It happens with the LG7 thinq as well.
Please keep me updated on the status of this. I'm having this issue with the versa on a first gen pixel phone. Sends anywhere from 3-7 replies. Can you also verify if there are plans to add the pixel 2 and 3 to the compatible devices list?
Best AnswerI have the same prob!em. Pixel 2xl, Android 9 on Verizon using Google Messages. Fitbit Versa new at Christmas and running 32.33.1.30. I have restarted both phone and Versa. Has sent quick replys anywhere from 3 or 4 up to 8 or 9 times. Please help. It makes quick reply s unusable.
Best AnswerThis continues to be an issue and clearly isn't a priority for FitBit to fix. How can I go about getting a refund for my Versa which is apparently not compatible with my Pixel 3 phone?
Also, I encourage everyone on this thread to share this issue on social media a #DontBuyFitBit hashtag. Maybe then they'll start taking action.
I just upgraded from the Alta HR to the Versa this week and am having this issue. Pretty annoying. One of the biggest selling points for the upgrade for me was quick replies. Everything I read said quick messaging was compatible with Android so I didn't expect an issue. Not gonna lie, l kind of feel like I got dupped. I debated between the Versa or a Wear OS Google watch before landing on the Versa, mainly bc I enjoy the overall Fitbit interface. Apparently I did not research enough.
I have a Pixel 2 XL and use my phone's default Google Messaging app. When I first synced the Versa and tested quick replies it worked fine. The next day when using them to genuinely respond to a message, it sent 18 separate responses! I thought it was a fluke but now anytime I send a quick reply it is always in multiples, although that extreme of 18 has not happened again.
I was initially relieved when I found this thread, but it looks like this has been a known problem for a bit with no fix. Is this a Versa issue or a Google/Android/Pixel issue? If there is no fix in the works Fitbit really needs to adjust their marketing. I would not have bought this product.
Restart your phone & or the watch. Restarting seems to fix the problem, obviously this still needs to be fixed by fitbit but it is a solution for the interm.
I restarted my phone, and its worked fine ever since (about 2 months)
I was having a bluetooth connection issues with my pixel2xl. To fix that, Marmaduke suggested that I unpair (forget) Versa from my phone, reboot the watch and let it pair with the phone not pair the Versa from the phone. That absolutely fixed rhe connecrion issue. Even though "Versa" is not always visible on my phone as a connected device, it is connected, syncs immediately and I get all my notifications. A side effect has been that since I fixed the connection issue I no longer get multiple texts when replying from the Versa. A fix? Not sure but its been a week and all problems resolved.
Best Answer@FatherRay it rarely happens to me now as well. No clue whether Fitbit has changed something on their end or the Bluetooth connection stability improved.
My Bersa has ooerated flawlessly since I followed your suggestiin. I consider myself fairly "techy", doesnt make a lot of sense to me but it has worked. It would be nice to hear from Fitbit.
