Restarting the Versa

The instructions for restarting the Versa say "To restart your watch, press and hold the back and bottom buttons for a few seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen." I held the buttons but don't get the Fitbit logo the screen just goes black for a fraction of a second then redisplays the clock screen - Does anybody else have the same issue when they restart their veresa? I am trying to restart as a first step since I seem to have have lost bluetooth connection between versa and both phone app  and windows app (was working fine till yesterday and phone is still seeing other bluetooth things - I unpaired and it will no longer pair).

Hold the buttons down for longer. It took near 10 seconds for the fitbit logo to come up for me.

@JustJane @Lweez Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Just like @Lweez you just need to keep pressing the button and you will see the Fitbit log like the instructions say. Once restarted you can also try the following to fix the syncing issue with your phone. You don't mention which phone you are using so please check if it is compatible. Go to the bluetooth settings and remove all (not only the Versa but all) the devices there. Restart your phone then restart the Versa and retry the setup process.

Let me know how it goes!

I'm having trouble getting my versa to sync with the website dashboard. It's syncing fine with my phone though.

Thanks that did the trick to restart it but did not fix the bluetooth I ended up removing it from my account then a factory reset and setting up as a new tracker. It now syncs again

@krissaann Welcome! It's good that the community is growing! Did you try the restart suggested in a previous post? Which computer are you using? Have you setup the Fitbit app? Remember that you will need a Windows 10 or Mac computer with integrated bluetooth 4 in order to be able to sync with your Versa.

@JustJane happy to hear that your Versa is now syncing and thank you for letting us all know what you did to resolve this as it may help other members in the same situation.

Keep me posted!

Could you please tell us why we have to constantly be resetting our Fitbit devices in order to force them to sync to the app? I received a Fitbit Ionic for Christmas 2017 and had so much trouble with it performing correctly that my husband the bought me a Fitbit Versa as soon as it was released just a few months later.

NOW I have non stop problems getting my Versa to sync with my app as well. We cannot be expected to constantly reset our devices, delete the app from our smart phones, attempt to re-connect over and over and over again.

Why in the word are we having so many problems with the connectivity of our Fitbit devices (based on the large volume of posts seen all over the web).

Was really happy with my Versa until that update a month ago which introduced women's health and message quick reply feature.  Now I am occasionally left with a device that don't get notifications at all from my phone.  Also occasionally the battery just suddenly drains so bad it goes from 90% to 10% in one day!!!  Add up all those occasions and it's becoming so frustrating 😞

I, too, am having this issue.  It is quite frustrating.  I hope the Fitbit community service rep can help to provide a solution for this.

It appears I have an incompatible phone-the Huawei PS 10 Lite.  What is weird is that my Versa worked great with it for about a week, then it faded out.  The last time it synced was June 29th.  I've restarted, I've installed/reinstalled.  Is it just time to get a new phone?

(BTW, I will never recommend Huawei-this phone has been way more trouble than it's worth)

It appears that is when I started having trouble with my Versa, too.

Thank you for your reply. Did you battery drain faster as well? My Versa
Display fades in and out but also battery dies within 3 to 4 hours.

I have so many problems syncing my Fitbit versa to my Samsung galaxy s8+! I have had to delete the versa and Fitbit app and reset it up three times this month alone! I'm about to have to do it again... Fitbit,  please release a firmware update ASAP to fix the issue!

I never really have syncing problems with my Versa. Always synced perfectly. Just the display fades all the time and the battery only lasts for 3 hours. So have to constantly charge device. I tried factory reset twice once with my Huawei P9 and once with my Samsung S4. Still same issues. I'm thinking about returning the versa now tried all options nothing works. Hope Fitbit can sort out our issues. Versa is becoming an expensive headache now.

I am so frustrated! I had the Charge HR for years with very minimal issues...I was so excited to finally see the Versa since it is actually waterproof. I purchased it and have had constant issues of connectivity. I am currently unable to sync and have uninstalled the app and reinstalled, deleted all other Bluetooth items from my phone, and reset my versa and there is still nothing.

I tried using both a Huawei P9 and Samsung S4 phones to reinstall app. My Versa screen still fades and have to charge device 3 to 4 times a day, battery only last and hour or two. Was also excited buying the Versa. Worked perfect for first few weeks. Now I'm returning device for a replacement. Hoping that won't be a problem.

Add my name to the list of unhappy Versa owners whose tracker won't sync with their decices. Last week mine stopped syncing with my phone and tablet. Neither my phone or my watch finds my Versa.  I've tried restarting the watch and my devices.  No luck.  It worked fine for several months. Still no  battery issues . Are the watches covered under a warranty?
