Didn't work for me.

Nor me for my Friday night sleep, although it did show the i calibrated variation graph on the app.  That might be the clue.  I’m not sure if the source of the problem may lie with the clock face software design (which I don’t believe is Fitbit). The watch communicates with the app supplying the raw data which the app displays, but the clock face software interprets the data from or within the watch and produces the values then displayed.  Otherwise. Why does the app not display values but only the simple ‘uncal’ graph’?

They really have major patch work to do here. It shouldn't be so difficult.

I’ve checked their App Store to confirm the SPo2 Signature clock face is offered by Fitbit and therefore they have product responsibility.  Looking further at the product information published at the store I found a User Manual for the product (Fitbit SpO2 User Manual, Version E, 129-0602-01 September 22, 2020).  First time I’ve seen it.  Later ai must read it fully.  I note the user must have at least a 3 hour sleep period, which is perhaps why it failed to give me a reading on the fifth consecutive sleep last night.

Even with more than 8 hours daily, it fails.

-----------------------------------

Right before sleeping, I did the following:

1. Select different clock face

2. Uninstall spo2 clock face completely and restart fitbit versa 2

3. Uninstall app from phone

4. Reinstall fitbit app and sync with fitbit versa 2 and give all permissions to app

5. Install spo2 clock face and sync again

6. Restart both versa 2 and phone

7. Sync everything again

8. Wear normally and sleep

This morning I had the reading show up on the watch face after an hour of waking up. I'm not sure if the above helped. But it showed for me the first time in 5 days.

PS: it didn't show breathing rate today, lolz. Its just magic at this point of time.

Good.  Hope it works again for you for future heights.  I note from the manual: “It may take around an hour for your SpO2 values to appear after you sync your device.“.  Also restless sleep can upset readings for sleep periods greater than the minimum 3hr specified. Good luck.

I got tired and frustrated with fighting with this clock face so I stopped rebooting my watch.  I stopped uninstalling and reinstalling the clock face.   I just left it on and now it seems to be working.  I still have days that I get the famous error but that may be from just a restless night or loose watch fitting.  I also received an update in the play store for the Fitbit app.  I sync my phone app as soon as I wake up.   Within an hour, I get results or an error (if restless night or loose watch)

Hopefully it works from here on out.

I rebooted my Versa lite and it seems to be working for now.

Hit or miss everyday. What a fail.

Yup. Nil return last night for me. I won’t be subscribing to Fitbit Premium, and wouldn’t advise anyone to buy the product based on this SPo2 performance.

So I have decided SPO2 app is hopeless. I get a reading to show I have slept, the graph is working to show approx oxygen levels but Spo2 gives me something about once a week! Tried all sorts or recommended tricks to persuade it to work but no!

Best Answer

I stand corrected! The Spo2 app does not allow morning potty breaks so it will not record. it breaks my sleep in 2 parts. If the larger part is less than 3 hrs and the early morning half it will not treat the 2  as one evening.

I think Spo2 should record everything during my total sleep period.

This is very disappointing.

It worked one time on my Versa 2 (the first night) and every night since the 25th (when my wife upgraded to the Sense and I got her handmedown) it has not given a rating, while all the other health metrics are working.

FWIW, it doesn't work evert night for my wife on her shiny new Sense either, so the "feature" just kind of sucks and without being able to pull a reading on demand I don't see it actually being super useful.

Nope, mine hasn't worked since I installed it. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, powered down my fitbit, made sure I was connected and have slept numerous times and it still does not show anything.

Didn't work for me tonight as well. For the last 7 nights, spo2 values were shown only for one of them, it was the night for which the system missed calculating breathing rate!

Frustrating is putting it mildly.  The fact that the app LOOKED LIKE it gave the actual data, in real-time instant view format was completely devoided of all joy by being what it is to begin with. The fact that it doesn't work the way it's supposed to oh, that's just whipped cream on the sundae. The fact that it's supposed to display the data up on the watch the day after you sleep oh, yet it completely misses that mark would be the sprinkles. For me b data was not displayed for about 36 hours after I did the update, I was working long shifts and didn't get a chance to rest long enough for it to register sleep until after that time period. When I did get a good six hours i checked right away and then had to wait for my app to acknowledge the sleep and give me it's interpretation. After that I had to wait for another 12 hours before I got to sleep again. Of course as luck has it my battery died and I wasn't able to charge it up for another day. Then I did have it back on and no spo2 action on the clock face. Then another day goes by and suddenly before bed it gives me my spo2 reading. Of course it's the average from the night that I slept a couple of days ago. I have no idea what triggered it to start.

So I mentioned eBay as an option for what to do with this device. I hope you don't mind that I'm going to cash in on that idea. This device has been one disappointment after another. The pleasant tone of the moderators do not help. I mean that in the sense that they offer no real information besides but you can already find it in documents online. They ask you to reset your device every single time you ask a question, like tech support asking if your computer is plugged in. At this point frankly it's insulting. To boot, the response about "I'm hearing your concerns and hoping right along with us that Fitbit will make an update or something soon". Blech! I don't think they get it. I'm Fitbit, the moderators probably are just doing what they think they should do to help smooth things over with the customers. Luckily customer service does an equally enthusiastic job at keeping us content enough to stick around.   for example, my current device is a replacement for the one that somehow got waterlogged and quit displaying anything on the screen. So now I have a brand new shiny, different colored cuz of inventory limitations, versa lite... That is too much of a pain to maintain possession of. So sorry folks, but this is never going to be a fixed thing, I've cancelled my premium subscription and I believe walking away is the best course of action. Sadly, they keep coming out with new devices and that instigates new buyers to purchase them. So it's going to be a continue cycle on to the next generations of unimpressed Fitbit wearers.

Sorry for the dark tone, I wish I had a more cheerful disposition and reason to employ it. I suppose this is going to get me another message from the moderator, not sure how I feel about that.

Good luck with the mess and apps in it. Despite the challenges that this company gives you, try and remember that you're worth the effort.

Oh man! I feel sad reading this, I hope you take it as a minor inconvenience and don't let it change your state of happiness.

That being said, I got a versa 2 like couple months ago. I'm new to fitbit ecosystem. Oopsie for me! Hahaha🙂

I'm having the same problem "sleep to update". I removed the app and got it back, still the same. I'm sleeping fine,  so if someone can help with any ideas to fix this, ty

I changed my band to a more flexible one than came on my Ionic and figured out how snug to adjust it for bedtime and I have gotten a reading for 3 consecutive nights, although I believe they are low (92-96),, but at least I'm not just looking at a blank screen!

I have got readings for past 2 days.. This is what I'm doing before sleeping:

1. Select a different clock face before sleeping and sync with the app

2. Close the app and restart phone

3. While the phone restarts, do the same with your fitbit device (restart it!)

4. Sync, once both phone and band are up and running

5. In the app, navigate to the saved clock face page and select spo2 signature clock face. Let it complete the set up

6. Sync both band and phone

7. Restart both band and phone

8. Sync both band and phone

9. Wear normally or slightly tight per your convenience

10. Have a restful sleep

Please report if this works for others.
