Versa 2 charging cradle issues

So just got the new Versa 2 and the cable attached to the charging cradle comes out the bottom, so I cannot rest it in my desk facing up, it has to be in on its side.  Is this by default, very annoying

Fitbit versa and Fitbit versa 2 does not use the same charger. The post is incorrect

Yes. Soooooooo annoying--esp since for 3 years I was charging my old Versa on the bathroom counter where I won't forget it every day. Don't want to put this one on its side in that same place--too worried it'd accidentally get wet--plus just why? What a horrible design.

The shorter cable on the 2 is also annoying. Bad design. : (
