Versa 2 dead after update and syncing issues

I updated my fitbit app on my phone at the end of September and since then, I have been unable to sync my device with my phone. Having followed all the trouble shooting tips uninstalling the app, forgetting the device, cleaning the charger and device, leaving to charge, restarting nothing worked. I even found that you couldn't roll back the update which has now left me with a totally unresponsive fitbit and a months worth of data lost. Having contacted fitbit support and advised that all they can do as my device is out of warranty is offer me a discount on a new purchase.  Fitbit have caused the issue with the update and I am now lacking confidence that if I use the discount offered to me all be it on selected devices, whats to say that this device won't suffer the same issue when it is outside of its warranty period and I'm in the same position again?

Anyone else had issues since the update or experienced something similar and can offer any other advice to get my device working again?

Having the same issues here too, all of a sudden my fitbit versa 2 won't hold a charge, after trying everything I decided to check these boards and glad I did. So if they caused this problem and they can't fix it, they need to compensate for the issues they've caused. This is too much money to spend on their product for it not to work and because of their update issues. Not a happy camper!!!

@LJBateman92 Agreed..App update seems to have caused many probs.. just trying to find work arounds until Fitbit acknowledges & fixes.

They will never admit it was their fault. I doubt if they have anyone competent to fix the problem. Just my opinion.  My versa is not working as well.  Out of warranty and support was useless. My versa was fine b4 updates with the app.  They will probably delete my comments.

I'm going to try logging out of the app and going back in it. Also going into phone settings - Fitbit and turn it off then back on. Have you tried that?

@LJBateman92 I haven’t had any probs w/my Versa until earlier today. As I mentioned, I did NOT install the update so this prob happened out of nowhere. I had to charge it & after removing from charger, couldn’t get it to sync for hrs. Tried diff things to no avail. then decided to turn off wifi on phone & sync via cellular. Worked immed! Turned wifi back on & was able to sync with or without it. (Note: everything else was working fine on my wifi).
You all might try that & see if it helps 🤞

Fitbits don't sync through Wi-Fi or cellular. They sync through Bluetooth.

I have to fight with it & try every suggestion to try to get it to Sync with my watch.

I have a versa 2 and for some days ago the updated. The app has stopped linking phone and watch, calls and messages is not showing up in display. It has been syncing until yesterday evening. By bedtime around 02:00, it wouldn't sync. And stil won't sync.

Seems like there is a common problem after the update. I hope that they fix the update, I love my watch and don't want to buy a new one when it still works.

I’m having this same issue with the same discount “solution” from Fitbit. As of November 1st my Fitbit will no longer track anything but steps and nothing I pay a membership for is working anymore. My watch is two months over the 1 year warranty and was working perfectly until the app update. Fitbit needs to make this right my watch cost $400 after taxes etc. this is completely unacceptable from such a major brand name. Their solution of a discount on a new product will not be something I am taking them up on either. I will go to Apple Watch if they do not feel like fixing their own mistake.

I have tried every solution offered here and called customer service to no avail. My fitbit was only 4 mths past the warranty period. It is completely dead and I will not be purchasing another fitbit after this experience and will not recommend to anyone! Anybody have recommended different brand of fitness tracker?

After getting nowhere with Fitbit support and them closing my case as apparently they didn't hear from me, even though I replied twice, I'm going to have a look at the Garmin range. My partner has one for 3 years and it's been rock solid. Far superior product to any Fitbit I've had especially after they have caused issues to 1000s of their customers and not doing anything about it.

I notice that there isn't any comments or response or reassurance from someone from Fitbit on any of these types of threads in the community either which I find shocking.

Yes! My Versa 2 will not sync anymore, until random points in time. It’s very frustrating and a waste of my time. What is the fix to get it to sync again every morning?

Since the latest update in sept or Oct, my Fitbit loses its charge much faster and it incorrectly monitors my sleep if at all. Kinda curious how this happens right before Christmas time. Also the new look was pointless.
