I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

I have an iPhone but this is what I did try to apply same concept for android.

you need to go to notification in settings scroll down to the message app and then scroll down to options “shows previews” should be set to “always”. During one of the updates this somehow got reset.

Hope this clears up you issue it did for me after months of not working

My Versa stopped receiving texts last year. Tried everything I could to get it to work, but nothing every did and I had everything on possible. I thought maybe it was my Versa because I had had it a few years. Just bought the Versa 2 today and STILL no texts messages so I'm taking it back and buying an Apple Watch. May want to fix whatever problem you have going on Fitbit because you're losing a TON of customers over it.

Thank you for your reply. Where can I find 'preview messages' and 'always'?

Many thanks for all of your help, but sadly messages are still not coming
up on my watch. I only got this versa 2 in March, it worked for the first
few months. If I had the money I'd buy an apple watch too, just can't
justify the extra money right now. Is Fitbit doing something about this
hiccup that's been going on for a while?

I am receiving texts on my Versa but it’s not vibrating. Is this still an issue as well as people not receiving them in general?

If there was a way to message each other and send photos trust me I think I might be able to get them to pop up, just saying, I’m that confident

Hi everyone!

If you just joined this thread and need help with your notifications, if you're on iOS, please follow these steps: Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones and if you're on Android, try: Why are notifications delayed or missing?

Also, I wondered if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Fitbit products are compatible with most devices that have the following operating systems: Apple iOS 12.2 and higher, Android OS 7.0 and higher.

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported and does not meet the require OS we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

In case anyone gets an error message, would you mind sharing with me what's it?

Hi there @KatieL1234, welcome on board. Have you checked if your watch does vibrate with silent alarms? Your Fitbit device vibrates to alert you at various times, including if you set an alarm, when you hit your step goal, or if you haven’t met your hourly activity goal. Have you see if the vibration is also missing for this features?

If your device didn't alert you, make sure you successfully set an alarm. For more information, see How do I manage alarms on my Fitbit device?

If you correctly set the alarm or aren’t receiving other alerts, test your device’s vibration motor. Connect the device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?

Also note that when you turn on the Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode setting on your phon your watch receives notifications, but your device won’t alert you. Swipe down to see your notifications.

If paired to an Android phone, your Fitbit watch or tracker can alert you to notifications at any time:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the account icon > your device image > Notifications
  2. In the Vibration Settings section, turn on the Always Vibrate option.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Sadly my versa 2 is still not showing any text messages. My Huawei p20pro
is an accepted device, running on os 10 and up to date. I have gone through
all the suggested ways to make text messages appear on the versa 2, but to
no avail.

Please help, this is an important element and the reason why I purchased
the fitbit versa 2.

Thank you

Thanks all. It’s now working. I think my expectation of setting changes & propagation was IMMEDIATE. Clearly there was a lag in hardware operation.

meaning I made changes then left it for the night. In the morning, I was getting the alerts I expected.
