Versa 2 stops responding to touch

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This problem happens more and more frequently.  Where the versa 2 simply does not respond to my touch.

My normal workaround is to hold the button until it restarts.  After several restarts it will allow hyperslow scrolling.  After that it will crash before I can get to the about screen.   After the crash I can usually scroll to the about screen and then do a shutdown.   After a shutdown it will work normally for awhile before repeating.  I waste about 10 minutes for this precedure.

i have tried a factory reset -and only using the factory default click face, apps and settings.  But the problem just   keeps happening more frequently.   A smart watch that would respond to me is not very smart.

Mines is doing the same thing, it's frustrating, the screen is unresponsive, even after two factory resets!! I should have kept my Samsung watch 🤦‍:male_sign: its been problem after problem with this fitbit versa 2

FitBit is sending a replacement.  In the mean time, I found I can get limited functionality without excessive freezing by factory reset and then immediately uninstalling ever app that can be uninstalled.

Conversely if you want it to crash and freeze frequently, install more apps.

At least for mine, it is definitely bad memory chips.

I just returned mine. Does anyone have a Versa 2 that works the way it's supposed to? Mine never gave any notifications about texts or anything. After 2 1/2 weeks it stopped responding to touch. I couldn't see steps, etc. It hardly ever woke Alexa, so trying to ask questions or set alarms almost always resulted in the "connection lost" message. I'm glad it broke b4 the 30 days was up.

How did you get in contact with them to get it replaces, I've bought 2 chargers and done multiple resets and my screen is black and I can see a dim light but it won't respond at all

I purchased mine at Kohl's. They allow you to return electronic items for 30 days.

I've had a similar problem, always first thing in the morning.  The first few times it happened, I just held down the button until it restarted, and the touch screen started working again.  Yesterday, I had to do that 3 times.  Today, it never did start working again.  I called customer service, and they will send me a new Fitbit.  (I got this one for Chistmas.)  The question is, "Do I want a new one?"  If this is a common problem, maybe I should just take it back to Costco and get a refund.  (My wife bought it through costco.com.)  Any thoughts?

Same happened to me. They’re sending a replacement but I’m starting to wonder if maybe I should have gotten an Apple Watch or something instead. I had issues with the inspire HR and upgraded to the versa 2 but this unresponsive screen is unacceptable tbh. I expected more.

Received mine as a Christmas gift - just started doing this unresponsive touch thing last week. Is there anything Fitbit is doing to address this issue? Also, daughter got the same watch and hers doesn’t seem to have this issue.

I also have the same issue - watch is only a couple months old and the screen will not re zdx pond.

Send an email and they will respond with what to do, in my case I had to send a video showing the problem and they were very good to sending me a replacement.

My does the same thing. Just got it for Christmas but it’s just over 30 days. I can get it to respond again my multiple resets and sometimes needs a factory reset. The last time I couldn’t get it to scroll to settings in order to reset it.  It’s working right now but I’m afraid it will continue to go into an unresponsive mode and I won’t be able to fix it by resetting.

If yours does anything like mine, it will. I've done multiple factory resets and then screen will appear then just stop responding to my touch. I'm about to throw this stupid thing away and buy something else.

Yep. That is the exact issue I was seeing before my watch was replaced with a new one. It will progressively get worse. Until it cascades to being completely non-functional. If you want to accelerate that deterioration process so they agree to a exchange, load as many apps on it as you can. If you want to slow down the deterioration process, uninstall everything you can.

I’m on my second watch that is doing the exact same thing of not responding to my touch.  It started about two weeks after receiving it.  I even disconnected it from Bluetooth headsets and devices hoping that would help.  It didn’t and it is frustrating to say the least.  I’m opening another ticket but I really don’t know if 3 times will be a charm with watch.

That is my fear! They have agreed to replace it but I’m afraid the new one will do the same thing. My current watch freezes and unfreezes. It is no responsive at the most important times (when I’m about to start a workout and want to track!) I’m so afraid I’ll send this one back and the new one will do the same thing!!!!

Thank you for your feedback.

It’s working so far so good, but I haven’t set any alarms or used the wake during the best time feature. I’m afraid those are what caused the unresponsiveness because that’s when my original problems started. If this one breaks I’m just going to go with an Apple Watch, because there is no reason so many people who filter through three or more of these watches in less than six months.

Mine has been doing the same thing. I sent alarms for several times a day and I can cancel the alarm by touching the screen. Did a hard reset and there is no change. Going to contact manufacturer.

Mine stopped giving notifications. I had to reconnect it to my phone and then the email and call notifications started back. That is working fine. But I have lost some response to the touch screen and it won't connect to map my walk. Grrrr.
