Versa 3 battery is draining quickly

I had an inspire and bought the Versa 3 but I have to charge it daily or every 36 hours. I contacted support but they were useless and don’t understand the issue. Obviously reading a script, any ideas on how I can get the 6+ days advertised?

Hi there, @FrannieB1111. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Totally agree with @JohnnyRow, specially if you've noticed the battery goes down during your sleep. You can compare your Versa 3's battery life afterwards and see if that makes any difference.

However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

Hope that helps.

If you have Snore Detect turned on, that takes a big battery hit.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi... I feel your pain with this as I've had the same issue. I previously had a Versa and Versa 2 and everything was fine. My partner bought me a Versa 3 about 8 weeks ago. The battery drained in about 2 and a half days even though I turn it off overnight. I spoke to customer services who are the worst I've ever encountered. They have no emotions and i actually thought they were robots. They finally agreed to change it due to the battery issue so sent me a new pebble (took 4 weeks to arrive). The replacement does exactly the same and drains 20% of the battery overnight even when turned off. I spoke to customer services again who tried to say the tolerances were normal. I eventually spoke to a supervisor after 3 calls to the centre. The supervisor was exactly the same scripted and sounding like a robot. She told me not to use the GPS as this would drain the battery. The only reason I changed to a 3 was for the built in GPS, so why would I not use it.  They would not entertain a refund and have sent me another replacement pebble that arrived the following day (today). If the battery drain on this is the same I will lose my patience as this is REALLY unacceptable.

@KWJames  - the short battery life is unlikely to be the watch, but more the features that are used all the time.

Snore detection and SpO2 can use upto 4 days of the 6 days battery autonomy.

Mi e was working 5-6 days of battery life. Now 18 hours. I am so disappointed this is my fourth Fitbit they seem to last less than two years. Time to move on to a different company

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I turn it off every night and when I turn it back on in the morning its lost between 15 - 20% of battery. I had a Versa and Versa 2 which were both great but I soooo disappointed with this. I also struggle in the morning to turn it on and takes a few attempts. I'm on my third replacement now and the latest is just as bad as the others.

@KWJames  - out of interest how do you turn off your watch?

That sort of indicates a normal usage with SpO2 and snore detection running over night.

Hi @SunsetRunner  - please elaborate what changed between 6 days charging and 20 hours.

Also can you indicate how the charging is measured.

To help you may want to try the SimpleClockPro watch face from the Gallery which logs and measures charging and discharging so you will have a precise point of reference when making changes.

It also predicts by when the watch should be charged so you will know if it is very different that there is a charging issue. There may be other tools that may help.

The main issues to try are listed in the How to resolve the Major issues causing short battery life.

and if you detect a charging issue How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

@SunsetRunner- things get updated in background too. Make sure Snore detection is off and you don't use music of GPS [exercises]

What you can then try is:

  • switch to the standard Fitbit Pleat watch face
  • turn off status indicators in the watch settings
  • fully charge the watch
  • sync the watch
  • turn off phone Bluetooth
  • restart the watch.

Then see how long the battery lasts without turning on the Bluetooth or syncing. You won't get any notifications during this test.

The objective is to see if it's an issue caused by the app and syncing or if it is a watch problem or a settings issue.

I never use snore detect or music

I will try what you said. But to me one day it is fine the next day it is not. Means the battery is dying.

Why buy a good watch if you cannot use some of the fun settings?

i am at work now so I don’t have wifi.

@SunsetRunner  - thanks, it doesn't mean you can't use features, it's just a matter of locating the one that's causing a problem.

Generally batteries don't die like that and it is far more likely to be an errant usage as the cause.

Once resolved it should be normal again, with any luck!

One question why do you need WiFi? Do you mean the charger?
