Versa Cracked Face

I have had my Versa for less than one month and I cracked the face. I reached out to warranty department to see if they were having any issues with the faces cracking easily and they had not. They said it was not covered due to accidental damage. I have not dropped it and did not realize I cracked it(I am sure I bumped it against something and did not realize I cracked it). I had a Charge 2 for several years and did not have any issues with it, only issue was it was not waterproof. I just wanted to post this in case others had issues with them cracking more easily. I have 2 others in my family. I am still wearing mine (at most angles you can't even see it).

@kgaldiano It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry to hear about your Versa's damaged screen. As Support explained, accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty so they won't be able to replace it in this case. Still is good to hear that you can still wear your device and thank you for sharing your experience.

FYI  - I had a protection cover on my Fitbit Versa, I thought the face was cracked. I recently ordered another cover, so I could pull it off and really see how bad it was. Acutally, it turns out only the protector was cracked!!!. So my suggestion is to advise if someone has a protector on it to suggest they remove it to make sure the true status of the face!

@kgaldiano thank you so much for confirming that your Versa is fine and that is was just the protector you bought that was damaged. Hope you are reaching your fitness goals.

Mine also cracked just noticed it, seems to be from a small chip at top. I must have bumped it but don't remember doing so. I am a 70 year old woman so don't engage in rough activities anymore.

I have a protective cover also, just removed it and like you it is the cover that broke, guess that is why they send you three. Thanks for posting

I had the same exact problem out of the blue one day I noticed there was a crack on my versa screen and I got a new one because of the warranty and now I am very wary of my versa hitting anything

I fortunately got the glass cover and only it broke, they sent three, well worth the money.

The first time I wore my new Versa.I noticed a small chip and crack on face. Had no idea it was so fragile. Guess I must have bumped something although I only wore it about a hour. Is there a way to replace just the glass? It's working and I have a glass cover. If it can't be replaced will it be damaged if I continue to wear?

I’ve had my Fitbit verse for about a month.  The band came unhitched (I’ve worn this band since I got it).   It fell on the floor and the face cracked.    I also have a charge 2 for over 2 years with no issues.   I am so upset.   It was a beautiful Christmas present to myself 😐

Call the company they might help you out, also if you charged it the credit card company often has a warranty, worth a try. I bought one of the mesh bands from Amazon for under ten bucks love it.

Can someone tell me what they are talking about when they refer to "protective cover". Also some responders say they have 3 replacements, where did they get these. I have had my Versa for less than 3 weeks and my face has a crack.  Disappointed that the glass face is that fragile when it is a watch that is meant to be work 24 hours a day.  Most watches you remove before bedtime, while swimming etc..... this watch is meant to be worn at all times and yet the face is that fragile. I will be returning and replacing with an Apple Watch.

Hello, I had the exact same idea. Why is this watch’s face so fragile yet
it’s supposed to be worn in rugged conditions and exercises. I’ve gotten
rid of my versa and I don’t think I will be getting another Fitbit product.
I am getting an Apple Watch next month and I have heard they are far more
reliable.

You can go to ebay and order, they are very thin glass that fit over the face of your watch. That is what I broke when my watch was new. Now a year later no further issues and would be lost without it. I had to get used to big watch on little wrist. I love the music feature.
Call Fitbit the warranty should cover a replacement.

I was too lazy to pursue returning mine. I do CrossFit in mine. Guess what cracked it? It bumped on door to washing machine, the pin for the band popped off and the watch fell to the floor. Really? What a lucky sequence of events. It’s definitely no longer waterproof. I should have put some of that screen protector liquid that goes on your cell phone screen.

Bummer, I hit the door frame. If you charged it most credit cards have warranties.
