Hello,
My first Fitbit but very disappointed with the Versa due to inaccurate step counts. I've read many posts about inaccurate step counts by other users as well and followed steps to resolve the issue but doesn't work (restarting the device several times).
I'm at office typing and every couple minutes, my steps are going up!!! Frusting for the price I've paid and fails to do its job it was meant to be.... I'm really hoping there will be a patch/update for this fix.
Please help if there were other solutions that might help me.
Thank you

My steps have been inaccurate as well. I have had 3 days in 10 give me too many steps. I do not type and am unsure what it is counting. I hope there is a solution!

Same here! I purchased my Fitbit Versa SE yesterday. I woke up this morning, walked downstairs to the bathroom and somehow, like a wizard, I accumulated 700 steps! I have been plaguing Fitbit all day on Social media for answers and they are not acknowledging me from any angle. Basically sums up they don't know the answer themselves, happy to take a couple of hundred quid from us, though. Absolutely tedious!

Oh and today I've hit over 13000 steps. Which is totally rubbish! I've not even done half of that.

Today was my lazy Sunday. I absolutely did nothing other than binge watching tv shows. It's 230 pm and I have 279 steps. Sounds reasonable but somehow my Fitbit claims that I exercised today.... Seriously ? I don't think my Fitbit should detect me eating on my couch as exercise =. =
I feel like I got robbed spending 250 tax for this device.... I really hope they are working on a solution for this.

They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this huge flaw without public warning before people make their purchase.

I am with you. I have always worn a watch on my dominant hand. It counts teeth brushing and even cutting up food as steps. I have to mentally subtract a few 100 steps to get more accurate possibility. Or take off to brush and cook. Wonder if manually setting stride length would help. Have had another Fitbit in the past along with another smartwatch and they both did the same. Never knew these other actions could be considered as steps.

Guys, just to let you know, I set my stride length and it has made quote a difference, it's not perfectly spot on but it's definitely not way off as I were from the beginning. I've just got out of bed and went to the bathroom and back and it's clocked from 0 to 65 which is a lot more accurate than the 700 it was the other morning when I monitored doing the same thing.

At least you hit 10k mark looool
I`m so fed up, I barely wear this garbage anymore. Complete waste of 250$.
Counting steps... isn`t that the bread and butter of Fitbit?

I contacted them through Twitter DM. They said they are already aware of this issue and are working towards a solution. Let's see.

I figured out that mine was due to the way it was charging. I had it on my nightstand in the charging cradle and there was also a small fan going. That vibration was being recognized at steps and gave the inaccurate count. Perhaps the vibrations in the car was doing the same thing?

Yes it is very weird. I too suspected this as I have a fan revolving all night beside my watch If you login to your fitbit account online, then you will see a daily graph for stepcount. The graph shown there is almost correct everyday. The vertical axis is for step counts. Still can't understand what these additional stepcounts are for.

Ok, so I was reading through the posts here to see what's happening with the Versa and how's it doing on the market. I would agree with some of the complaints here and there but you need to keep in mind that this isn't your body or brain to know how many steps you've done exactly. Sometimes you walk faster and move your arms much more and sometimes you don't...
I had a Versa and tbh I've deffinitely noticed huge discrepancies at times. But once the watch or tracker is used to your walking and all of your movements it will get much better with accuracy.
Now back to your issue snsircar, you can just log this period of time as an exercise - Driving. This automatically reduces the amount of steps you have supposedly done in that time frame.

I can do that but was surprised because I have done that drive before and it has never done that
