Hi. Just wondering how I might go about resolving a battery issue with my Versa. Had the versa for a couple of years with no issue and suddenly my battery now drains within a matter of hours in one day. I have changed settinga such as changing to manual for checking stats and a dim light and turning off step reminders but it still drains super quick. I literally only use this watch for a step count and active minutes, nothing else really, I have no music or wallet or any connection to messages etc.
Is there a way to test the battery to see if it's faulty?

Hey all I am still on iOS 14.2 and having this problem. It’s not an iOS issue.
-------------------------------
I called support and evidently am still under warranty, they are sending me a replacement. Interesting that they weren’t even interested in sending the ticket on for further research. I wonder if they are troubleshooting the problem with returned devices?

@CynthiaLS - I think they'll start caring when more eyes are on this issue/it starts to affect their bottom line.

I just found the receipt from my original purchase: 5/16/2020. Guess I called just in time 🙃

Same issue here. Watch went for 5-6 days on a charge and then seemingly overnight it couldn’t hold a charge for 24 hours. Just so happened I charged it to 100% and went on a 4 day trip. Didn’t bring a charge w me because why would I? Problem started while I was gone. So watch was dead for days until I got home. Charged it. Dead by nightfall. I called and they tried to tell me that the GPS kicked in which drains the battery. Funny. Try again customer service. The watch was dead. I pointed that out and then they said ‘oh yes i see that.’ It’s almost laughable. At that point they pushed it in to warranty and told me to wait for an email. Of course it’s out off warranty and they gave me a 35% off coupon. No admission of a problem. No explanation. Nothing. It’s a lithium ion battery. They have 300-500 charge cycles. Well I charge once or twice a week. Do the match. Versa 2 hasn’t existed long enough to hit those numbers. Ironically thou if you drain them past a certain point it damages them to no repair. Maybe I’m not supposed to know that. It’s way to ironic that the watch had no issue w holding a charge and overnight has a problem. Along w how many other people on this forum. Fitbit has lost a customer. This is way to circumstantial for my liking after reading this thread. I should be able to choose when to upgrade. Not be forced to by something they likely caused. How easy would it be for them to update the app to drain the battery. Or frankly just have a software update issue that caused this. I think they should be responsible for this.

I have been continuing my to keep the Fitbit application closed on my phone. However, Fitbit just sent me a notification email that the battery is low on my Versa. I double checked and the Fitbit application was closed and not running in the background on my phone. I also do not have WiFi enabled on the watch. I am confused, and kind of creeped out, as to how my watch could be reaching out to Fitfit to tell them it's battery is low when it should not be able to sync that information.
Update:. I've uninstalled the Fitbit app and battery is still draining fast. If I get another email about the battery, I will assume it is using the Bluetooth connection to send data to Fitbit bypassing the app and WiFi.

Pffft no one is offended mate. Not even slightly. We all want the Fitbits that we paid 200 or so dollars for, to work the way they are meant to. Carry on as usual... This thread shows how many people are changing brands... 🙄

All your posts are spot on. First my Versa wouldn't sync. That was fixed, then the battery, which was perfect 2 days ago, started draining. Turned it off, and cleaned the underneath of the watch and, of course, no improvement. This is my third fitbit as well, and honestly, they seem to last me almost one year, exactly. This is so unacceptable!

YES I guess so! Now my Versa 2 has a totally black screen as of 9am yesterday . GREAT. So when I talked to the live chat to try to re-install the app and see what happened, the rep asked me if I had entered the four digit code displayed on the screen!!! What??? What screen??The screen is black......duh. O my!
So the best they can do for me is offer me 35% off to buy a fourth...yes a fourth FITBIT in 4 years. GREAT. Can hardly wait. I refuse to spend even more $$$ on a versa 3 or a Sense (as it will probably make no sense), as I am sure that is Fitbits plan. I will just have to get another versa 2 I guess and the first , the very first sign of a problem it is going back within the 6 month frame.

Good idea
--------------------------------
Same happened to me and today the screen went totally black, so was told by FB I need a new one( again) and they are "so kindly" going to offer me 35% off my 4th in 4 years. Not impressed . It just passed its warranty . So I will be up to $700 in 4 years. Have a box of defective fitbits not to mention straps/covers etc also that are no good to me as all different models. Expensive watch!!

Was this Saturday or Sunday??
My watchface went black too and battery was almost full!
This entire situation sounds more and more like a massive problem on the Fitbit end and they're totally in the dark as to how it can be corrected.
I did recently read where battery problems are possible after updates on either the iOS or Android platforms.
Well I'm personally completely fed up with the situation. My disabilities prevent me from fooling with all these product problems on an hourly basis and is causing me a lot of stress.
Thanks for letting me vent a little. Don't usually do it. 😌

Wanted to add that my Fitbit mysteriously began working properly today, after 3 days of not holding a charge for more than a few hours. I left it on the charger last night, turned it off this morning (as I had done the other 2 nights) and voila! it is working perfectly!!! There is no rhyme nor reason for this!!!!!
---------------------------------------
Called Fitbit today and they were willing to give me a new one, even though
the device was out of warranty by 6 days...of course...or 50% off a
different fitbit. Happy for the offers, but ticked that this happened in
the first place.

Me too. Had to charge about 3-5times in a day. I’m in challenges nearly every day and now I have barely any steps counted for my daily.

Hi again everyone. As a last ditch. I tried again to reset the versa by pressing all three side buttons concurrently until the logo appeared and now my battery is holding a two day charge (less than the 5 day hold before the drop off to less than two hours). Hopefully this will help some of you, too.
