i tried to hold back button, it wont restart after 10 seconds, always pops up a screen options list for "Screen Wake" and "Notifications"

You need to hold the back button and bottom right button together for around 15 seconds.

When the fitbit logo flashed up during the restart, was the screen defect still there at that point?

is it hardware damaged ? or anything else ?

It sounds like a hardware issue to me.

The last option we really have is a full factory reset. That would determine if it's hardware or software, but I'm leaning towards hardware myself.

Remember, if you do attempt the reset you should sync your device first (to avoid the loss of data), and also remove the Versa from you account and unpair from your phones Bluetooth settings.
