There is a question in the forum but it appears as solved, so starting a new thread to get assistance from the community.
I am used to track bike rides with my Versa. I patiently wait untill the "Connect" message is shown and the short vibration on the device is felt, then start. All good until last week when it only logged the elapsed time and heart rate. No miles, no speed, nothing. Same this morning. Any advice on how to get it back? I really like this feature as I want to keep tracking my commute.

I've been having this issue with my Charge 3 since I started biking. Heart rate and time calculate but no mileage, mph, steps, nothing.
I use an Android.
I wait for my FitBit to connect to the GPS and app before I start. I've tried it with my WiFi enable and disabled. I've tried wearing it on my ankle. The most I get from a 15 mile ride is 0.29 miles registered.

Versa ended my bike ride after eight minutes. I can't leave the display on, as suggested above and I don't want to turn the WiFi off since I can be sure I'll need it the time I forget. Surely people regularly bike with Versa 2 without this anguish.

Ok I know it's a very old post, but I'm sure my reply could be useful for everyone. Before yesterday I also tried the bike mode on my Fitbit versa 2 watch. The phenomenon was the same as the post mader's photo. However I tried make a connection between the watch and my phone's Fitbit app and after the "connected" message appear on the watch's screen the distance counting was success. Well, it's a good question why is it need this connected status before the bike mode. According to a little part of the Fitbit community the reason is the watch has not GPS that's why is it need the connection with the phone. However I think it's bulls, because when I wanna use the swimming, or footstep, maybe running mode my phone is never around me and everything is ok with the GPS.
The important, that in bike mode you should waiting for this "connected" message and after this, you can leave your phone in backpack or at home With this step everything does work for me, nothing problem.
