I have a note 8 and I can't connect at all...any tips that might help me out? I can get as far as putting the code in the app and then it's not connecting.

i just got my versa today.
i kept the versa in the charger while setting it up and kept the phone close. it worked with more or less no trouble at all... took about half hour.
ooo... Connecting to wifi was maybe my only hiccup as it was scanning but wouldn't find any networks. Did you see that screen? think that comes after putting in the code... i hit the back button once where it asked me if i was sure i didn't want to set that up as the install would be faster
So i selected "no" and it searched again. The versa should show a wifi symbol on screen, then it continued and worked fine.

you could also try restarting the versa

and maybe restarting the phone too... (just in case) before trying again...

I just bought the Versa. I can't get text messages on it. Spent a 1/2 hour with tech support and they say it is a compatibility issue.

I had it set up once. Then I had them delete my old account so I could start from scratch. (Hadn't been able to exercise due to health issues) After that a no go. Never could get it set up again. I went through all the steps and configurations with Fitbit support. I was on chat, I was online, I was emailing back and forth.
Then I was given the link that shows all compatible devices and the Note 8 is not on the list. Needless to say I am so FRUSTRATED after all that time and having it pair once, that, that was the end result. For the most part, the people were fairly good, but it seemed they talked down to you because they didn't think you were doing what you told them. I followed every step and directions they all gave me. I was on the phone for 3 hours maybe a tad less but probably more.
I returned it today. Until they test for Note 8's I'm not about to spend that kind of money for something that doesn't work. But I can't understand why they wouldn't have tested a Note 8. I see on the list tho they only tested like a Note 3? I can't remember for sure. But here is a link for you to check which phones have been tested. For those of us with a Note 8 - does this make sense???

I cannot get text messages either, I was told it is because my Samsung J7 is not supported on Versa. What phone do you have?
