VERY Interested in the Versa. Will it have a proper IP rating for swimming? e.g. IP68

It has a swimming program. That should tell you something. I had a $6 Casio watch 40 years ago that was “water resistant “ to 50 meters. This should not be an issue for FitBit.

Just to let you know it’s hit or miss. I’m about to be on my third versa because it says you can go swimming with it. I work in kitchens so my hands are constantly in water. So far two of them have crapped out on me. They’re sending me a third saying they’ve fixed this issue. We’ll see if this is true when I get it

50 meters would imply ability to Scuba Dive. As 50 meters is roughly 150 feet. Can you scuba dive in a Fitbit Ionic?

The problem I see is for the last 70 years it has been a federal violation to classify any type of watch as waterproof. Even a raincoat can not be rated as waterproof

They say you can. I used mine swimming and boom. It’s began to show all of the hallmarks of a watch that had water in the works. And I own about 10 watches and they all behave the same. Won’t work. And then after a period of drying out. Do work.

The standard for 5ATM is no diving, no showers, no snorkling no hot tubs, no strong currents.

I purchased an Ionic, took it for a swim in my 48" above ground pool. It failed, that evening. I will say, they are honoring the warranty, but, this does me no good as a go forward. As, in the past, I have experienced a poor customer service. If I have this repeatedly occur, they will no longer honor. This occurrence happened 6 mos into ownership...so, my guess would be, they might replace it up to the 1 year anniversary of purchase, but again, does me no good to continue to have to ship it in and be without a tracker for 2-3 weeks. I am honestly not sure why i put any money into their products any longer, as they just dont live up to the advertised specs...and their customer service is probably among the worst. Change my mind....
