Allow multiple devices on the same account (Sense/Versa series, Inspire, Charge & Luxe)

Be allowed to have both a Fitbit Versa and a Fitbit Ionic on the same account so you can easily switch between them.

I meant to say it’s the fitness aspect that keeps me on track so allowing both to be used in the same account would be great!!!!

Hi @Marcella2 , thanks for sharing your idea, as our good friend @Rich_Laue mentioned, this request, is very similar to yours. That's why I moved it here. Please keep sharing your ideas, and do not forget to vote, if you haven't done so.

@Rich_Laue good catch! Thanks for providing the link to this suggestion.

@JuanFitbit You guys are funny. The only company in the whole wide world that cannot have multiple fitness trackers on the same account at the same time and yet you think it is just "an idea" that might have novelty. Basically it's a bug and a facepalmy one, too

Over a year and we STILL can't add a Versa with a Charge 3?  I'm returning my Versa today.  Thanks for nothing (and the same, robotic response), Fitbit.  Garmin, gonna give you a try.

I’m likely leaving Fitbit over this one as well

Are you listening Fitbit?

I really don't understand why Fitbit didn't go into agile/scrum-office beast mode tot solve this. Would be interesting tot see how much they lost because of this.

I would have bought a Versa next to my Charge 3. At least this saves me money.

@Myrfle I really doubt they lost much,  the Charge 3 is their overall best seller. The Versa sold well and is still selling.

My understanding I'd that the cloud data base for the new OS needs to redesigned to allow multiple trackers.

I would hate if Fitbit threw something together and find that it screws everything up.

I now have a Versa, an Inspire HR, and an Alta. I would like to have all three linked to my (single) account, but apparently you can only have one HR device per account. Why on earth would you have that restriction?  If I want to keep all my steps, tracked by all three devices, linked to a single account, I have to REPLACE one HR device with the other each time I switch between the two. I cannot believe I'm the only person who would want this feature. Not allowing it makes utterly no sense.

I really hate this.  It's been over a year.  I got tired of waiting and gave away my Charge 3.  What a waste.  I've been a loyal FitBit user for years.  I can't understand how they could just leave us hanging like this.  I wonder if Garmin users have these problems.

Nope, Garmin explicitly allows you to have multiple trackers. They call it TrueSync.

I gave up on Fitbit over this.

Just wanted you to know, I punted on Fitbit and moved to Garmin over your foot dragging on this obvious point.

Just got an inspire to go along with my charge 3 without realizing this limitation. I need a smaller device to wear at work so thought the inspire was a good idea. I can’t believe this has been an issue for over a year. At least one of them is going back.

Similar story to everyone else...had a change 3, and bought an Ionic for the built-in GPS, only to find that I can't use them easily on the same account.  At the very least, this needs to beclearly stated in the product pages...

Have inspire hr and charge 3 and extremely disappointed that I cannot have both on the same account so that I could easily interchange them. Why was this not disclosed on the box? I would never have wasted my money to purchase both. Fix this, please.

When will this be fixed?

It can’t be so difficult to revert things back to when it worked perfectly well to have an ionic and a charge 3 and use them without any problem. If something works, why the need of change it

Actually @PandyPops there is nothing that can be reverted back to.

A user still can have multiple trackers on their account as long as only 1 of them run the Fitbit OS. The problem comes with the new trackers running the Fitbit OS.

Fitbit never originally planned to allow more than one device that runs the Fitbit OS. Shame on Fitbit

In any case Fitbit will need to rewrite and test a major portion of the server that handles the Fitbit OS.

Yes it will take some time to make sure that the roll out is smooth.

Agreed. I wear my Ionic for tracking my runs with GPS, but prefer my Versa for wearing when I'm going out. It sucks that my steps for the day disappear as soon as I switch. I get that some people might abuse it and wear both at the same time, but if there was a way to have the app only connect to one device at a time, but combine the steps for the day, that would be awesome. A lot of offices now have fitness credits to promote health initiatives, so I think lots of people like myself will own more than one Fitbit in the future.

I've had some luck since. Note that I use a computer, not a more portable device, so you might have to make adjustments.

I sync the Fitbit I've been wearing and turn off the fitbit app. Walk at least two rooms away and change Fitbits. Leave the device in that room and return to the computer wearing the new device and turn on the app. It seems to then sync the device that's close and not the further one.

Do the reverse when you want to switch back. It adds steps of both devices without overlapping them.

It's a little clunky but at least it's working lately.

Thanks very much, Jean!  Great alternative till FitBit can allow us to buy as many watches as we want & sync them seamlessly to one personal account:stopwatch:

So they should advice people on not having more than one tracker running Fitbit Os or more simple, don’t upgrade your charge 2 to a 3 if you’re planning on buying an ionic... All this sounds ridiculous. This company first killed the best smart watch, pebble and now it seems that they’re kinda shooting themselves on the foot

i guess i wont be upgrading until this changes and am afraid it’s gonna be for a very long time

I bought the charge 3 because I thought I would be able to switch back and fourth between my Ionic and charge 3 just like I did with my charge hr and charge 2.  How dissatisfied/disappointed I was when I realized I could not have a charge 3 and an ionic on the same account!  I literally where my charge for working out in the mornings and then change to my ionic all day for work then back to a charge when I get home EVERYDAY.  I was totally expecting the same ability to change back and fourth when I please when I bought the charge 3.  Very disappointed with this.  I will be running my charge 3 to the ground and then I will never buy a Fitbit again.  Please fix this Fitbit.  Very unfair to the consumer
