Fitbit claims that there’s not enough interest in this feature. More interest in lengthening screen time before shut off. Go figure....

As far as I am concerned, without the ability to have at least two watches redners the entire Fitbit product line useless.
Why track steps if you are not interested in calories? And if you are interested in tracking calories you need to track them 24/7 or else you don't get accurate daily totals to plan your diet based on.
Because of the stupid way they make it impossible to charge the watches without taking them off, this necessitates two watches, as you need to wear one while you charge the other.
Everything else, music, pay feature, everything else is rendered completely useless without being able to switch between two of them.
I have an Ionic, Charge2, Surge and Charge HR all on the same account. I have an older Charge, which I haven't used for a couple of years but this will go on as well, so one account does have multi Fitbit support.
What it won't do is add my Versa at the same time and I didn't buy a Charge 3 as that also couldn't be added to the same account. Nothing much has changed with regard to this so it doesn't look like a high priority.
I don't know how many millions of trackers Fitbit sell, I did see that the sold over a million Versa in a relatively short time, I am guessing that most people only buy one, or like me start with a cheaper Charge and then buy a second 'Smartwatch', which do go together, so weigh that against a few handful of people moaning on this thread that you can't add two Versa to the same account and you can see why it is not perceived as a big issue.
No doubt I will get shot down for these views and no I don't work for Fitbit, just a realist and old enough to have seen it all before.
I take offence to your comment about moaning. I wish to have only two newer units on my account a charge 3 and a inspire, I can’t. Like you I have many older models however I have chosen to donate them as they still work rather than having them gather dust in a drawer. After buying an inspire I was planning on donating my Alta (after all it is a replacement) but I can’t because I like two watches connected in order to use one to replace the other while charging and as a general backup. I am now having to disconnect one and set up the other if I want to switch, a bit inconvenient but can be done. Asking for it to be changed is a wish and if we don’t ask how does Fitbit know want a user might like. I have read many requests that seem weird to me but obviously important to another. I would never criticize these people as you have.
There needs to be an option where the inspire is able to be supported while also having one of the other trackers such as an ionic or versa also connected to the same profile. Why this did not happen I do not understand. I bought the inspire to replace the zip
Fitbit doesn't seem to allow you to have two trackers of the same type attached to the same account, I assume that they have no way of distinguishing between them.
The reason you cannot have an Ionic, Versa, Charge 3 on the same account is that these trackers appear to be built on the same hardware/software platform and so to the app/account appear the same.
I doubt the problem is in the tracker, it is probably the app/account which lacks the ability to distinguish between two trackers of the same type (or same dev platform), but it might be more fundamental than that, they may have no method of distinguishing in the comms between the tracker and the app/account.
So in a nutshell, it probably needs an upgraded firmware for the tracker, new app and new comms subsytem. Oh and by the way you have to make it backwards compatible, that could be a big job for Fitbit, which is why after 12 months they still haven't tackled it, most people probably don't need it.
Can't you guess I am an electronics & embedded software design engineer (not fitness watches), so have some insight in to the process.
Please allow multiple Versa's /etc on the same account. I wish I could have one for workout and one for day wear. It would also allow us to purchase multiple colors.
Hello @niknik13 ! Thanks for sharing this suggestion, I moved it to this similar post so you can add your vote to it. Please keep sharing your ideas with us!
Hi @Dino-man, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote!
I’m extremely disappointed by this news, having loved my Versa since they launched, and then just splashing out on an Ionic to track distance runs. Why on earth would you not make it easy for people to own both?! I don’t want to have to faff with the app each time, I just want to switch watches and go! Will be carefully considering keeping the Ionic now as it was already an extravagance. Poor decision Fitbit!
Where are you Fitbit moderator. This should not be under consideration. It should be in the works for the next update. Please get on this. It’s a must have.
This Feature Request needs to be updated to include the Inspire HR. Fitbit's claim of multi-tracker support is worthless, as so many of the trackers that can be supported in multi-tracker support have been discontinued by Fitbit.
I really want to be able to use my charge 3 alongside my Ionic. The charge 3 is better For when I do yoga. The lower profile is less intrusive for that type of workout while I prefer the Ionic for runs and Fitbit Coach workouts.
It's a win/win for Fitbit to find a way to have multiple tracker support for those new products. You have a lot of people on here who are into "collect them all."
It doesn't make sense that the charge 2 and Ionic are able to be together and not charge 3 and Ionic. Being able to switch between the two is a great thing.
Allow Versa and ionic to be used on the same account. A serious flaw in the software. I like the built in GPS in Ionic but then would like to switch to the Versa to wear for work as it is dressier. Would love it for them to be compatible so data can be combined. After all, it’s the fitness addiction that tells me if I’m in track for sleep and working out. Or put built in GPS in the Versa.
Please allow me to add my two cents. I have been using a Versa SE, and a Charge 2, but my Versa SE screen cracked and I replaced it with another Versa. I want to be able to use all 3 devices, as the old Versa is great when I’m doing yard work. Please allow two smart watches on the same account! Thanks.
I have a similar need as RL7 mentioned yesterday. I've been using (and loving) my Charge 3 but wanted an Ionic for runs without my smartphone or any time I'm not keen on wearing a traditional watch and my Charge 3 at the same time (on different wrists - I'm not that crazy). I was under the impression that multi-device support would allow me to switch between these automatically, especially given that only one is what most would consider a "smartwatch" but at the moment, I have to switch manually in the app and clear the dozen or so pieces of advice that pop up each time. It's not very convenient, nor is this limitation documented anywhere I've been able to find. Actually, there's not much documentation I've been able to find at all, short of "it's possible." Am I just expecting this to work differently than it actually does, or is switching manually in the app the only way to move between these two trackers at the moment?
