Be allowed to have both a Fitbit Versa and a Fitbit Ionic on the same account so you can easily switch between them.

Dear Fitbit Techies - Please get this working ASAP. I had charge3 which is great for sleep tracking as is very light and occasional days but versa for more formal days where I can leave behind charge 3 at charging port and vice versa while not using versa. I hope you listen to many here or lose me for sure.

I am researching...do any of the smart fitness watches allow for more than
one watch in the same account? (with the new technology).

I’d like to toggle between my two trackers without having to set up the other one as whole new tracker. It’s way too time consuming and confusing. Not to mention annoying.

I used to have my Ionic and Blaze on the same account and could easily swap between them

The Blaze is not considered the same type of watch as the Versa, Ionic and
Charge 3. It's not in the smartwatch category. That's why it was possible
for you to have both on the same account. I can add my blaze and old charge
2 to my account as well.

The trouble arises when one tries to add 2 of the smartwatch class Fitbit
trackers to the account. Currently this can not be done.

You say that but I can’t have my ionic and inspire on the same account

With the release of the Ionic, it seems Fitbit switched to a new foundation for its operating system. It seems to stem from their Pebble acquisition and has powered trackers released since then (Versa, Charge 3, Inspire, etc.). While the new OS certainly enables more varied functionality (payment, quick replies, and others) it seems that the mobile software can't support syncing multiple devices with this new OS. So, that is why you can still have, for example, an Alta HR and an Ionic both sync, but not an Ionic and a Versa.

Given that Fitbit hasn't addressed this issue via a new app version in over a year, I wouldn't hold my breath. Also, their lack of comments here also makes it seem that all we can do is continue to gather votes for the feature, since I doubt they're reading the comments.

Garmin's ecosystem does allow multiple device syncing as does Withings'.

Which trackers do you have?

As I understand it the reason you can't have two Fitbit 'smartwatches' in the same account has to do with them using the same app gallery. Anyway, that being said there is a (not recommended) workaround. I have the Versa Lite, Ionic, Charge 3 and Inspire HR on one account and switch back and forth. The way I did that was to install an earlier version of the Fitbit app on my Android phone (version 2.81) which allowed me to add all those devices to one account and then upgrade the app to the current one after the units are added in. This does have some drawbacks. I only get notifications on the Versa Lite for one. I also occasionally get some very long sync times and have to reboot both phone and devices to clear up issues.

I have the iOS operating system ie iPhone I wish they would fix this issue because I also have the Apple Watch which I love but my health insurance company pays me for my steps and I average about 15,000 per day.

Plus my health insurance isn’t compatible with my Apple Watch they said they have been working on it, but I’ve had every series of the Apple Watch and they still aren’t compatible but they do recognize my Fitbit hence the 2 trackwrs

so you took the time to switch each one...I am considering this...

The issue with this method is it is time consuming and some of your settings need to be reset each time you switch.
I noticed I had to reset up my exercise short cuts as I like different ones from the defaults; I also had to change default cues for exercise from default and any app notifications I had set up were lost.
There could be others I guess it’s like each time you switch your back to default and have to re customize.
Second a complete switch eliminates the practicality of using one as replacement while charging the second or switching a smaller watch for a larger one for an evening out.
I like my charge 3 but bought the inspire for hot summer months because it’s cheaper (if lost or damaged) and smaller & lighter (for humidity.)
Switching for months at a time isOK
I will still need to keep my Alta to wear while charging main watch ( which I was planning on donating) which is a pain.

Currently the ionic, charge 3 and versas cannot be on the same account at

Hi @Ice_Queen1960, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here.

I think that Fitbit should allow any and all Fitbit devices to be added to Fitbit dashboard and kept. I have both the Fitbit inspire HR and the Fitbit versa. Fitbit told me I could have two different Fitbit devices added on to the dashboard at the same time. But I read online that you can't do that with the two I have. It replaces one with the other. I would love to be able to have both because In my job I like to wear my Fitbit inspire hr to still be able to keep track of my activity while my job requires me to be active but also endgers me and my watch is comfortable while I'm in action. And I like wearing my versa when I'm off work going to the gym and after heading out for a walk or a run and buying a drink or a coffee after a nice workout and not having to carry my wallet to the gym and with me on a run. It gets heavy. But you must understand the annoying struggle I have Everytime I switch between watches. While I leave the other one plugged charging on my day off and switch I have to go through the setting up a new device all over again because the dashboard doesn't allow both devices to simply stay on the dashboard in sleep mode while the other is being used. I been doing this since I got them and I been debating of returning one because it's too much time wasted waiting to set up the other device and waiting for it to pair and fixing the dashboard options all over again. It's pretty annoying. I think as users we should have the option to keep both devices if we want to regardless of both devices offering the same features? Because I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that probably does the same.

Hey @Tenshi-Akuma what a nice idea! I think that a lot of users will like to have this option when using both Fitbit devices. See you around.

As I see it, Fitbit has until my Ionic needs replacement to fix this
glaring oversight.

If they don't I'll likely go elsewhere. Garmin maybe.

This definitely needs to be a feature now that FitBit has abandoned the Zip in a non-working state. I actually bought the non-HR version of the inspire along with the clip for it, hoping that I could use it for tracking my steps during the day while using my Versa at home in the evenings (a setup that I've been using successfully with the Zip and the Versa). Unfortunately, the FitBit app won't allow the Versa and Inspire to be installed at the same time. Not good.

Why has this not been addressed? This was first suggested a year ago and still crickets?!

Please let us be crazy and have both the Ionic & Versa on the same account. We spent the money we should be able to use both trackers without uninstalling and reinstalling!
