So far I really like my Versa 2. My disappointment is that Fitbit does not allow me to have both my new VERSA 2 and my INSPIRE on my account. I previously had both my Inspire for my wrist and my Fitbit One as a clip, both on my Fitbit account and easily inerchangeable without any need to involve the app. Now, there are times I prefer to wear my Inspire in a clip rather than to wear my Versa 2. The only way to do this is to DISCONNECT or UNPAIR my Versa 2 from my account and pair the Inspire and then reverse that operation. This is cumbersome, tedious and a waste of my time. My understanding is that because the Inspire and Versa 2 both have "apps" available to them in the Fitbit program, they are not allowed to share an account at the same time. I argue that this is ridiulous. While the Inspire does have the APPS tile appear on the Fitbit app, there are no apps available for it and the "apps" that are on the device are not removable or editable in any way. PLEASE remedy this and allow the Versa 2 and the Inspire to be used on an account without the need to unpair and reconnect! I am still within the return window on my Versa 2. Thank you and please advise if this info and request should be directed elsewhere.
Hi @glenncarp, thanks for taking the time to explain why you'd like to have your Versa and Charge 3 linked in the same account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can check this other suggestion here and keep checking it for future updates!
Well...it seems that the moderators are paying attention. Rewarding the good kids and removing the inflammatory kids. Let’s get the issue fixed Fitbit!
Knowing Fitbit (and hating them exactly for this) even if they bring the feature it will be half-assed like everything they do. Hey Fitbit, guess what I will do today...I am currently wearing my Garmin Fenix 6 and when I get home I will put on my totally beat and scratched Garmin Fenix 5 and head to the skatepark on my bike that sports a Garmin Edge bike computer. While rinding to the park the F5 reads my HR automagically and syncs it to the App while the Edge records everything else. And when I get back I put on the F6 again...and everything will be in sync AUTOMAGICALLY without ever taking out my phone even once because this is what people do in the 21st century. Must feel like magic to Fitbit to have the basics working. Even Pebble could do it. Remember? The company you have bought and taken off the market? They could do it as well. Why can't you then?
I really wanted to stay with the Fitbit brand because it's what most of my friends/relatives use and I enjoy participating in challenges with them. I was excited when I made the decision to buy an Inspire HR for everyday use and an Ionic for my long runs/workouts because I saw this article:
Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print underneath which basically says that any new Fitbit you buy is not compatible with having more than one device on an account. The support representative also confirmed this.
Please update this feature! I will be returning my new Fitbits 😞
I brought an Inspire to replace my ageing Fitbit Zip that had started to eat through batteries. This was my first ever Fitbit which I have had working fine on my app alongside a Charge 2 then a Charge 3. I had no warning that the Inspire would behave any differently, I brought it as it can be used with a clip, and the Zip no longer seems to be available. I cannot wear my watch to work so rely on a clip on device.
I now have to uninstall one device to make the other work? This is NOT a solution! I don't want to have to keep resetting my alarms and preferences everytime I switch devices. I wish I had never wasted money on the Inspire.
I was going to buy the Versa but not anymore after reading I can’t have the Versa and Ionic on the same account. Ridiculous to say all you have to do to swap between them is to remove one or the other and then reinstall!
I was wondering if you could make it so you can have two of the same Fitbits on the same account. I’m not sure how hard it is to do but I have two Fitbit iconic and had to make two accounts just to use them both. I use one for my work and the other for my gym and would like to be able to not have to keep logging out and in when using. It would be great if you can have them on the same account so I know exactly how many more steps I’ve done than my partner. 🤣🤣🤣
Hi @Canacoke, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!
Unfortunately it has been "Under Consideration" for almost 2 years and Fitbit hasn't addressedt issue or even answered why they are not really looking at it.
Hey guys! I currently have a blaze, versa and Ionic. My account allows the blaze to remain on there with either devices and doesn’t request me to switch. Yet the other two do. I know you’ve said it doesn’t take to long but it actually can be quite annoying to switch the two. Do you have a timeline on when this might become an option? I love your products and using both my devices and keeping them on my profile at the same time would make it easy to use and charge them when they become flat! Thank you advance.
It wouldn't be so bad if you could switch between devices inside the app without having to uninstall them completely. This could at least mean that regularly used alarms and other settings wouldn't be deleted each time, and could save valuable time between switching devices. Surely if it was a compatability issue this would resolve it? Instead Fitbit seem to be ignoring this problem while continuing to release more watches. Disappointing. Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android
Well that's an exciting development! I am sure it will be an offer Fitbit can't refuse.
I would imagine issues like these would get resolved as Google has deep pockets and would want all new Fitbit wearables to work for each account simultaneously and not just just one and done.
Oh wow. It's being reported by major news outlets so no inflammatory actions intended. It's just a very big deal that I hope works out for the best for both companies.
I just received my FB Ionic, imagine my dismay when I learned I cannot pair it with my mobile app without removing my Versa! I bought it to switch back and forth but now I'll have to return the Ionic if I don't want to setup a device each time I decide to switch watches. Huge oversight for your company that alienates people with multiple smart devices.
