Hi @Mitsu0569, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.

@Mitsu0569 it has to do with the way the Fitbit OS App store works. My guess is that it is not a simple change that is needed

This "feature" has been under consideration without further comment since 7/18 so they're probably not going to do it.  They'd sell more watches if you could have a "dress" watch and a sports watch on the same account.  It must be a marketing/sales thing.  Considering sending the VERSA2 back.  I was happy with the Iconic and didn't realize I'd have to give it up for the Versa.  Can't seem to work it with 2 accounts either.  1 PC, one Smartphone. Dumbassedness on Fitbit's part.

I agree that it sounds as though it's not a quick fix. But they have known people were unhappy about this for two years, yet kept releasing more and more products, while at the same time (from what I can make out) making it look they were 'looking into it'. I would not have brought my second watch if I had been made aware by Fitbit about this issue before I purchased it.
Kind regards.

I've just bought an Inspire as my One has developed a cracked screen, I also use a Charge 2 daily, and an Ionic for running. My main use for the Inspire was to use with a clip when 'dressed up' so I can wear a normal watch but still count steps by wearing an Inspire concealed discreetly, but I've just tried to connect it to my account only to realise I can't have both the Iconic and the Inspire on my account. If I'd known this I wouldn't have bothered buying it. I've previously owned the original Charge HR, and a Surge, and never encountered this issue before.  I was also planning on upgrading my Charge 2. Now having read this thread I see it's a known issue, and has been for some time. This is exactly the kind of thing that will make longterm Fitbit wearers think twice before buying any further products, and given that they're not particularly cheap you could lose quite a bit of money for the sake of an app fix. Come on Fitbit, it's just not good enough.

Fitbit...i love the versa and the versa 2 even more. I'm sure just because i got the versa2 doesn't mean you want me to send the old versa to a landfill. I'm sure a little programming can allow multiple versa's to be connected to the same account. My old Versa still have a lot of life left in it. I could use it when doing yard work or anything else while i use my versa 2 for work. On top why would you want to restrict a customer from buying more than 1 versa to suit their style or preference. I mean you already have the capability to support multiple fitbits on the same account. why can't you make the versa folks happy here. It may be a small programming fit to solve the issue. Give us an option to select which versa should support/connect to the app store.

I know you can make this happen. Make up for that horrible versa 2 charge. Give us a change to keep the old versa for a little bit longer.

Hi @Harry82, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion  which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

The issue is Fitbit does not have the ability to have two devices on one account or email address. This has been known to them for about two years but they don't share it.

If you do some digging you come up with this.

This info is directly from the Fitbit users forum.

"Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time."

What this means as I found out the expensive way is you cannot have one device for work or exercise and another for dress.

Their canned reply has always been its "Under Consideration"!

This flaw also means if your household uses a common email address, no one who shares that email address with you can have a device either. One email address, One account, One device.

I would expect this post will be getting busy in the coming days as many people start opening fitbit gifts and discover they can't use them easily.

That is not so @AJOIII you may have as many of the different models that you want connected as long as only one of the models are running the Fitbit OS.

You could add a Blaze, Charge 2, an Inspire, even a Flex. With all those you can add an Ionic or Versa or Versa lite or Versa 2 or Charge 3.

The problem is not adding more than one model, but getting the App store to be happy managing more than one model.

BTW I have had as many as 5 trackers simultaneously connected to one account.

However you are asking about having 2 users with the same account. This is easy to do with an Email Modifier.

Many email servers allow modifiers.

IE:

myemail@ and my.email@ are the same email address but Fitbit will see them as being different.

Same goes for adding a "+"

myemail@

myemail+wife@

myemail+son@

Myemail+daighter@

All 4 will look like different emails to Fitbit they are the same

Sure you can add any of the Blaze, Charge 2, Inspire and Flex.

If you had bothered to read the post, NOT ONE of those was even mentioned.

It is the higher end, more expensive models that have much more, or at least SHOULD have much more capabilities.

Again, go back and read the post. Like many, I opted the higher end devices, namely an Ionic and a Charge 3 SE.

These are profit cows for Fitbit and they shouldb reading these forums.

Ok, I'm getting very confused here, one of the comments states "You could add a Blaze, Charge 2, an Inspire, even a Flex. With all those you can add an Ionic or Versa or Versa lite or Versa 2 or Charge 3." so why can't I add my new Inspire to my account which currently has a Charge 2 and an Ionic on it? Every time I try it says 'switch Ionic' (or similar) and when I proceed and go through the process of adding the Inspire my Ionic is then deleted....

Or am I just not getting this?

You can only have one Inspire, Versa, Charge 3 or Ionic per account. This is well known to Fitbit and there are many many complaints on the issue.

The moderators try to gloss it over or make it seem like it is no big deal but the fact remains the higher end devices do not work together in any combination of the above.

I've been wearing my Charge 3 for over a year and I really like it, despite the fact that it won't hold all-day sync.  But I decided to add a Versa 2 because I've seen all the ads and love the emerald band Fitbit is selling. The holiday price was too enticing, Merry Christmas to me!  But, I wanted to wear it occasionally, not all the time. The face is too big for all the time for me.  It's more of a "dress watch".   I used to have two Fitbits on my account (a Charge and a Flex) with no issues as long as I synced before swapping. I don't need both to be syncing or getting notifications, but I want to swap!  Now I have received my beautiful new Versa 2 but Fitbit is asking me to ditch my Charge 3 to use it!

I've read on another thread that it's really not possible to use both. There was talk of files being corrupted and losing years of data if you try! I'm am so disappointed! Please, Fitbit, allow for a Versa 2 to be a second Fitbit on an account!

Oh, I just made a new feature suggestion without seeing this thread. (Fitbit failed to show it to me when producing search results!)

Yes, I am one very unhappy camper after discovering that I can't use my new Versa 2 since I have a Charge 3! I want to be able to swap,  like I did with my Charge and Flex! I do not want to give up the Charge 3 but would occasionally like to wear the Versa!

True. What i hope is fitbit would allow more than one of the same model. If
fitbit wants to restrict app store to just one device fine with me. But i
want to be able to use both of my versa's. I'm sure it is a middle ground
that can keep more people happy and i don't see it to be that difficult
programatically as they already allow having different models on the same
account.
AJOIII

No, if the device uses the Fitbit App then you cannot have any combination of Charge 3, Ionic, Versa or Inspire. That means 2 of the same device or one each of two different devices.

One of the above only per account.

That is not helpful, AJOIII. I know that is what they are saying but that is the point of the feature suggestion! I just bought a Versa 2 with no warning of this! I have been wearing Fitbits since 2011 and have had more than one on my account at the same time. They could make it possible! I don't even want 2 of the same model, I just want to keep using my Charge 3 that I have had for over a year with the option of using my Versa 2 sometimes instead.

AJOIII
Recovery Runner

I also have had more than one device, but the Charge and Charge HR along with all the other lower end devices DO NOT use the Fitbit App. The App is the issue. I can still use my Charge HR along with either my Charge 3 or my Ionic because the Charge HR doesn't use the App nor does it collect as much information and is only part of the account, not the App. The App does not allow two "smart" devices in any combination.

Like you, I want the ability to have my Charge 3 and Ionic both on my one account and App.

Why can't you have two devices on same fitbit account without deleting? I would never bought dad fitbit. He has iconic and I gor charge as they play golf and want the smaller device.

After looking at forum, he said he was limited and needs to delete his other model and re add it.

Please enable it, so disappointed that fitbit would do this.

I'm hoping can take it back but bought it online but device is pointless with how it is currently. Gor main device and would need to delete it each time and add it again

Have had an ionic already and just got a versa lite for non-exercise daily use. Will probably just return after discovering this sad state of affairs.

Please consider making it possible to connect both the versa and the ionic to the same phone and making it easy to switch without having to re setup each device each time. I received my versa for Xmas but will probably return as I find the inability to easily switch too limiting. My plan had been to use my ionic for all my running work outs and wear my versa for work and social activities. I love the ionic but it’s too masculine to wear with my pretty dresses!

I have had an Ionic for about 2years and just received a gift of versa 2 yesterday. I was so excited by it and planned to use both for different things however absolutely gutted to discover i can't register both and switch between them. Massive let down! Reading this thread, it's obviously it's an issue Fitbit have been aware of for last couple of years and they haven't sorted it yet. WHY Fitbit?? There's a clear demand so why continue letting us down?

I have a Versa and love it.  I also have an original fitbit and use it when my Versa is charging.  So, I decided to "upgrade" to a Versa 2, thinking I would keep the Versa for those times when the 2 is charging.  In fact, I bought my wife 2 Versa 2s at the same time for Christmas ... bought 3 of them.  Wow, was I disappointed to learn I am unable to sync the two at the same time.  Do we expect to see a solution to the problem in the near future?  And, what exactly is the technical problem?

Thanks,
