Allow us to set macronutrient goals and show us full macronutrient breakdowns in app

Macronutrient tracking/goal features seem logical and are sorely needed to make the FitBit app an "all-in-one" fitness/health app. These features exist in other food-tracking apps and it is the only major feature the FitBit app seems to be missing on this side of things. Many people on these forums express frustration about having to a separate app to get proper macronutrient tracking.

The suggestion is broken down into 2 components, which are all basic features that other diet apps provide:

1. Allow us to set what % and/or gram of each macronutrient we want to consume and make it a goal that we can achieve each day. For example, say I want to set my daily intake to be 150g protein, 100g carb, and 50g fat, or I can set it to say I want a 40/40/20 ratio. Then the app can tell me how I'm doing on each of those goals each day.

2. Right now the app only displays % of macronutrients consumed for calories of each type. However, a simple way to view grams of each would be better and compliment reaching calorie/macronutrient goals. Food labels display grams of each macronutrient, so it is only logical that we can track this in the app. It's easy to recognize that you need "25 more grams of protein" and then check a protein bar label and see that it will give you "15 of those 25 grams of protein."

Note to mods: This feature currently does NOT exist so please stop merging this suggestion into the other thread ( https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Track-Macros-in-App-daily-carbs-protein-fat-inta... a different request that has been released, because they are NOT the same or else people wouldn't keep making new threads asking for this feature.

I, too, would love to be able to set macro goals.   I am making a lifestyle change and using several different apps is making logging difficult for me.  Please, please!

Agree 100%. Disappointing that they still don’t have that. Pretty obvious and easy fix.

I would love to see the suggestion

I too would like this feature - if not percentage goals, then gram goals for macros.  Myfitnesspal has this feature, but I don't want to use that.

It would be nice to be able to set your own target's in the food journal. The diet that I'm on requires me to eat 1970 calories a day, and have a 40% Protein, 30% Fats, and 30% Carb split. right now if I use Fitbit I have to eyeball it, and deal with the negative numbers the app gives me when I go over what it thinks I should be at.

I would very much love this feature, as well as a status report similar to the calorie intake status that the app already gives me (Under/Over/In Zone type of thing). I always forget what exact percentages I should be looking for...

The lack of this feature is the only current reason I still use the another fitness app over Fitbit for nutrition tracking.  I need to be able to set and track specific grams of each macronutrients each day for my diet.  It would be even better if I could have separate goals for workout vs. rest days!

It's March 2019, and we're still waiting for custom macros. I've seen requests for this feature going as far back as 2015. Why is this not being addressed?

I vote yes to being able to customize your macros

It would be nice to set goals around consumption of macros and be able to track if you are in goal range or not. USDA recommendations could be the default and then people could customize their needs based on the diet they are on

Yes!! I don't understand why:

1. We can't toggle between macro grams and percentages on app and web dashboard (only % on phone app and only grams on web dash)
2. We can't see the full nutritional breakdown of food added on app

I also really like the idea of setting goals so you can see where your deficit is and by how much. Please please please add this!

It would be extremely helpful if we could see which foods fit into the 3 categories on the app. Right now its impossible to edit our eating habits because we can't see which foods are contributing to my "fat" percentage and so on...huge miss on the app.

Yes please! The app only shows percentage breakdowns, but I would like to track the intake in grams from my meals throughout the day. It would be great if we could set macro goals for our daily fats, protein and carbs so we can get an accurate reading on how many grams we have left over. I am having to use a separate app on my phone to track this and it just isn't all that feasible. Please consider making this feature available in the app for tracking

I was asking for this for over a year now with Fitbit. They told me if an idea gets over 1,000 votes they will review it. My idea for over 1,000 votes and they closed it ha ha!

I have now moved all my food tracking to myfitnesspal. Mainly because the food database and barcode searching is far better than Fitbit!

If Fitbit want to get more people using their app they need to start listening to what their customers want!! (Rant over lol)

options to set goals for total macros to be consumed for the day by gram with remainder of macros left to be consumed visible. Giving users more freedom of how to track caloric intake.

Subbed! I really hope that Fitbit implements this feature! Especially with so many people using macros to develop meal plans, it would be super helpful! Thanks

+1 to being able to view macros in grams and not just %ages on the app.  Also, if the dashboard on the web version was as intuitive as the app (i.e. when I select a recent food it offers suggestions from prior meal pairings like it does on the app version).

I would love Fitbit to add something in the food log so we could track macros. like we hit specific step goals, it would be great to set goals for macros. for example, 50% carbs, 35% protein, 15% fat would be mine. I would log manually or by the barcode, and all the nutrition info would be pulled up. in the food log, how we can see calories on the dashboard, I would rather see my goals at the top. maybe a pie chart and then under it saying what I'm at right now and how much more I have to do. Fitbit is amazing for weight loss and I think it achieves everything, but for weight gain? not much available to me so I'm forced to use myfitnesspal which I hate lol. i would much rather be able to do everything in one app, which I prefer, Fitbit.

Hi @madisonk ! Great suggestion, thanks for taking the time to share why you would like to see this option on the Fitbit app. I've moved it into a similar suggestion. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

It would be great to see a benchmark view for macronutrients like there is a benchmark view for sleep. Currently, you have to view the benchmark for macros in an article outside of the app.
