Challenges not Based on Steps, eg. Sports, Stairs, Active Mins

It would be nice to have different types of challenges that aren't solely based on getting our steps in. 

For instance, the number of active minutes in a day, loss challenge, calories, water consumption. Some activities don't count steps such as cycling, skiing or skateboard.  I would like to be able to compete against my friends while doing other activities.

I would recommend allowing all the challenges, (Daily Showdown, Workweek Hustle, etc), to have a drop down feature for the subject matter of the competition. For instance, you could set up a regular work-week step challenge, but additionally you could set up a workweek challenge for "Oz. of Water" as the subject. Compete who see can stay the most hydrated!

 

While Hydration challenge is my favorite new challenge idea, as I know it would inspire the family members I regularly compete with to drink more water, I know we could dream up other levels to compete on as well.

Additional Ideas:

"Hydration Challenge" Who is drinking the most water?

"Active Minutes" Who is spending the most time being very active? 

"Recording Meals" Who is regularly reporting their calorie intake?

"Exercise Tracking" Who is logging the most Exercise minutes?

 

Competition motivates like nothing else!

My friend and I were curious whether her spin class or my Orangetheory class burned more calories. We wanted to set up a challenge for most calories burned but new to Fitbit, I don't see where custom challenges can be created with friends.

I'd love for there to be a stairs challenge! My friends who walk a lot on their jobs have no problem winning the step challenges. I think a stairs challenge would sort of even the playing field. Most people would have to go out of their way to do it and it would make the challenge more fun!

I believe that this feature would be very easy to implement and I am actually very shocked that the current list of challenges is only limited to how many steps one can take in a given amount of time. Is there a reason that I might be overlooking that this isn't already part of the app?

I'm came to post this suggestion, but I see someone already did. I work at a desk, but I run 2 to 3 miles 5 days a week. Sometimes 6 days a week. I work 10 hr days so my minutes active looks pretty good.

Are there any plans for new challenges? The steps are great but I bike and lift weights as well. Are there any plans for a calories burned challenge?

I was going to make this same suggestion! I ride my bike to and from work (7.3 miles each way, 30 min to work, 40-ish min home) so my steps aren't all that impressive, but my active minutes are really up there!

-create your own challenge
-pre-loaded challenges that go off of active minutes rather than steps.

Yes! I am a woman with a small stride when walking but when I run I get less steps and more miles! Please, Please implement a choice on what facet we want to challenge someone on. Anything that is tracked could also be challenged!

Calorie burn challenge

Need a challenge for calorie burn. I actually always lose out to my friends because they run and walk while  do circuit, HIIT, insanity MMA etc etc. You get the point.
