Customizable Challenges (like start date, duration etc)

I would like to be able to set which days I want for a challenge. Not all of my friends work a workweek (Mon-Fri). I would like to be able to make a challenge thats like Thurs-Sun or Mon-Wed-Fri. Or whatever days my friends work during that week. Choose teams and partners.

I love the idea of having challenges to create and invite friends to join, however it's slim pickings of what challenge to create. There is weekend which is calculated only on Sat and Sun. My weekends are Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is work week which is 5 days a week and only Monday through Friday. I need one that is 3 days a week in no specific selection of days. Why can't we create and edit our own challenges? The challenges are very limited. Please offer something that can be edited.

I have a suggestion... Can we have a new challenge? They could be Team Challenges! They can function just like the challenges are functioning now, 10 per challenge. But we can either join group A or group B and the groups go up against each other. I hope this makes sense!

The five or so challenges are alright... But there's little excitement behind continuing running the same five.

Here's a thought and a method that might allow for easy to implement custom challenges. We know what the fitbit can track: sleep, steps, calories, stairs, heart rate and water/food intake. Why not allow an option to create a custom challenge, where you can select the range of participants (still working with the current limit of 10), select the challenge type (calories, stairs, distance, etc.) and then set the custom threshold (essentially the win condition, ie 10,000 steps.. Or something more creative, like the distance to the moon) and finally the date range (how many days, from 1 day till unlimited). Allow users to share these goals so others can add them to their own queue and start them up with friends.

This just seems like such an easy way to really gamify the experience without forcing people to use third part apps.

What do you guys think?

Hello, need more challenges other than steps. How about how many stairs climbed? Or how man calories burnt?

Would love to see a floors challenge in the style of the current steps challenges. :). How about called Happy Stepper or Better Stepper ?

I would love to be able to have more than 10 challengers. My fitness groups have about 20-30 women in them who would love to all compete together.

Customizable challenges please!! I'd like to see the ability to make my goal day challenge something other than steps, for example active minutes. The ability to have a variety of challenges would make it more interesting and keep the motivation levels up.

Hello. I have some feedback about Fitbit for Android… I feel like there aren't many challenges. I was hoping instead of adding more we could create our own. So all we  have to do click the plus button. Once you're there you just choose your topic such as floors or steps, then choose your time limit and maybe even a name. I feel like it could be a great addition. Also this way you don't have to waste your time coming up with new challenges. We could just make our own!

Sorry for the confusion! At any point where it says Badge pretend it says Challenge!

Fitbit should create more challenges that arent based on steps. These are great but a little more variety would be good. When im cycling it doesnt count towards my step goal.

May challenges could be:

  • Most active minutes
  • Number of flights climbed
  • Distance travelled
  • Calories burned

They could even create long term challenges ie month or 6 months

+1 for allowing more than 10 friends to join a challenge!

I started utilizing the 'Workweek Hustle' challenge at work and it has caught on to the point that coworkers have bought Fitbits just to join. However, we're at ~20 people now - please open this up!

People have been asking for this for a long time. Fitbit are either arrogant or just don't listen to their customers.

There is an app called Matchup.io it is far better. Allows more people in a challenge and different types too.

Allow the option of doing workweek hustle, weekend warrior, daily showdown, and goal day with miles instead of steps to accommodate for those of us who cycle and do not receive steps from cycling activities... because there aren't steps being taken 😛

Competitions are fun, but those existing in the app are VERY limited.

How about measuring the distance over 4 days, because my friends and I are on a trip together?

I suggest to add a feature to create custom campaigns using the following model:

* select target measurement (steps, distance, calories)

* select target goal (maximum or who reaches a certain amount first)

* select duration (in days)

Being able to create such competitions would make the fitbit app much more enjoyable in my opinion

I think it would be great if Fitbit allowed users to create their own challenges on the app instead of the same ones that are there. It gets a little boring after awhile.

Or even a make your own challenge.

You could choose steps, minutes, water, etc.

You could choose most at the end of ____ time or first to ________ amount

It would also be helpful to add more than 10 people.

Please please please can we have a workweek hustle and weekend warrior challenge for number of floors rather than steps? Thanks.

Reading the comments on here, it looks like the MVP in this space is: 1. Completely remove or increase max limit of 5 challenges per person 2. Set custom challenges or have more pre set options. As a Software Engineer I know that Product Owners have to see business value in these features in order to get them bumped up the priority backlog but the business value is plain to see. Spread motivation, more participation, more social engagement and increased demand will translate to higher sales volume and customer retention. Do it now Fitbit, the demand is there so capture the value!

Agree with the most requested.... Number of people who are in a challenge, only allowing 10 people in a challenge and would like to see a floor challenge.

Definitely agree with this, and I know the friends I do challenges with would support this too.

M friends and I love the challenges as a way to encourage each other to meet our health goals.  It is difficult because many people have non-traditional schedules.  So for all the nurses, bartenders, security, emergency services and other people out there that work something other than a 9-5, the workweek hustle and weekend warrior challenges might not make much sense.

A simple solution could be to add a couple of other options like a weeklong challenge or monthlong challenge.  Another option could be a customizable challenge.  It sounds like these options could be benefitial for a large number of fitbit users.

A floors climbed challenge, I love this idea! Since this a metric that is already tracked, how can we go about getting this instituted?
