Customizable Challenges (like start date, duration etc)

I would like to be able to set which days I want for a challenge. Not all of my friends work a workweek (Mon-Fri). I would like to be able to make a challenge thats like Thurs-Sun or Mon-Wed-Fri. Or whatever days my friends work during that week. Choose teams and partners.

I'm living in the Middle East and our work week is from Sunday to Thursday.

In the advanced setting one can change the week to start on the Sunday but that doesn't change the work week hustle.  Is there a way to change the day of the week to start the Challenge?

I would love to be able to rename challenges.  I have 3 different 'WorkWeek' challenges going on usually at one time, each with a different group of people (i.e. office workers, high steppers, coworkers, etc).  I would love to be able to rename the challenge and/or write a personal note for me, so I know which challenges I'm looking at without having to go into the challege.

Also, I would like another vote for being able to have more than 5 challenges and more than 10 people per challenge.  Once you finish a weekend challenge, you can't rematch the challenge until the end of the week or it makes it so you can't have as many daily/work week challenges.

Hello there! Add more challenges sound like a great idea so we can enjoy different options instead of only steps.

Any other ideas or requests you  might have, feel free to share them or vote for them in case they have already been posted in this board. Thanks!

I would be great if we could set up a custom challenge that would allow us to set the length of challenge to something more than a week. We often have month long healthy challenges in our occice and would do a month long step challenge if we could create our own!

Thanks.

Mark.

1. one vibration of call notification is too short, please provide options for the vibration time on call.

2. I would like to see detail data of heart rate, but it looks just show very roughly although it collects seconds base data. please provide magnifier feature(Zoom) to see the detail heart rate data by 10 sec or 1 min unit,..

Frustratingly Fitbit don't care about this idea... Sadly!

With so many requests and nothing being done...

In the long run I see this being the demise of Fitbit. What could be a fantastic social app for a great bit of fitness equipment is being let down by a lack of support for social innovation. Clearly Fitbit are currently more focuses on new product development than with enhancing existing products. This breaks a golden rule of business... Provide what the customer wants and not what you think they want.

I am now going to look for an alternative piece of kit that I can use with friends and compete with. Steps is great for the sedentary, but not the most important variable tracked for those who require more than just being active through steps.

Gutted to be honest as fitbits marketing is fantastic, the product is great, but the software that comes with it isn't embracing the social world we live in and this is a huge issue for thousands of fit bit users who have found the forum and posted!

I have emailed Fitbit on several occasions but do not get a response further than we will pass this on to our development team.

After all this time why does the development team feedback and explain why this enhancement isn't going to happen?

Poor show Fitbit, sell the devices and make minimal software enhancements as this doesn't generate revenue. What this does do though is help you retain customers... When my Fitbit breaks I won't buy another, as I'm sure many others here won't as the software is ridiculously limited, particularly as people become fitter and more active, step challenges become boring.

i agree joeynix. fitbit really have the market at the moment but are not looking long-term, producing new beautiful produces without the softwear to back them up as fantastic fitness trackers will make them loose market pace. the things being suggested are basic fitness ideas, ive got a watch tht does running but no intervals..how good is that for training???? which is why i put ppl off from buying it as a running watch.

we have challenges..i have loads of fitbit friends and week in week out we do the boring same challenges, i know belong to a FB fitbit challenge group which aids the boredom but really need to be able to change the challege names so that when i want to check it i can go straight to tht one. also the 5 challenge rule is STUPID i have to make sure tht by the end of the week end i dont join any more challeges until my group one starts on wed so tht im not locked out as in too many, even though some may have finished and take hours/days to sync and clear, ive not been able to join a challenge even though im only in one active one but waiting for the other 4 to clear

as for a reminder to move...well how hard is tht we have a timer on the watch so just give us the facilities to be able to set it to go off every hour at a set time that WE choose to remind us to move, yes to also know how many steps we have to do to complete our hourly move would be a HUGE bonsu and a great selling point.

and if they really really want take the lead and keep it allow us to set our own challenges...now that really would be the icing on the cake.

I haven't seen a moderator's answer, yet. So, I think that maybe the 5 challenge and 10 person limit, is for an overload prevention. If someone spammed someone else with a few 100 invites, talk about confusing, say they accept them all, then the winner just got 100's of first place, deleting the purpose, I now see... But as for the 10 person limit, I try to think that maybe... Ummm, it is, I'm not sure why.

I really enjoy my FitBit,
However I would love the ability to create custom challenges. My coworkers an I work 10 hour shifts, 7 days on and 7 days off (70hours in week ). I want to create a off week challenge for us; instead of the workweek hustle. Or just having the ability to personalize the names of the challenges/badges would be GREAT!!!!!!

I think that creating your own challenges would be great. I hope this can be implemented soon.

I feel the Fitbit app should allow more than 5 challenges, at least 10.  I do several challenges with different individulas every week and I have to decline some of them because I'm already at the limit of 5. Please consider this upgrade in the next release.  Besides that the app is great!!!

Thank you!

I would love if you expanded your challenge capacity to include custom user-designed challenges, plus have challenges be based on alternatives to just steps, but also: miles, active minutes, floors, sleep etc.

Oh, and if I am carrying a load of laundry (and/or toddler) up the stairs from the basement, the fitbit doesn't register the flight of stairs... I'm doing double work (with the kid) plus stairs and nothing to show for it!

Need to take more than steps into consideration in challenges and friend ranking.

I have a large growing number of coworkers that have a fit bit. Challenges max out at ten people... That needs to be increased. Fitbit has helped us to build greater community and conversation... At the same time, we promote fitbit by participating in these challenges and telling others about it. We have recently started talking about this 10-limit issue and I thought I would submit it. Thanks!

Yes! And/or the option to be in more than five challenges at one time would be fab.

I agree, I have to decline so many great challenges because of the 5 challenge limit. I would really like to have the option to join at least 10. They are great motivation.

Challenges should be custom workweeks.

Also for example, the current work week challenge
for all participants 00:00am Monday to 11:59pm Friday.

I think it's a pretty simple fix.

With the new Blaze and Surge fitbits that allow you to track different exercies it's time to update the challenges to match those.  One of the best things about challenges is they provide motivation through good competition.  My fiance was excited to compete in a challenge but his typical form of excerise is cycling so he cannot particpate in step only challenges which all of them are.  New challenges should be created for all different activities and then non-step activities should somehow be calculated in the step only challenges, maybe some kind of coversion rate based on active time.  This would benefit a lot of customers whose primary activity isn't walking or running.

If there were a decent conversion routine for bicycle miles into steps, at least we would have some semblance of a "common denominator." I posted a feature request on this recently.

It would be great if we are able to customize a challenge. Like when it starts and when it ends. For people in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, our work weeks and weekends are different from Europe and the Americas.

The 10 person limit needs to go. If it was some power of 2 due to a db limit I could understand but 10 just seems arbitrary.

It will be nice new challenges with other types of goals, even if only with some devices.
