Customizable Challenges (like start date, duration etc)

I would like to be able to set which days I want for a challenge. Not all of my friends work a workweek (Mon-Fri). I would like to be able to make a challenge thats like Thurs-Sun or Mon-Wed-Fri. Or whatever days my friends work during that week. Choose teams and partners.

Dear fitbit, we have had these devices long enough now that many have posted the desire to increase the amount of challenges that you are able to be in & the amount of people with in a challenge. This is very frustrating and can sometimes lead to not using a Fitbit at all or discouraging to potential buyers of the device as they know this and figure they won't be challenged as much as they would like to be. I'm sure you're working on this by now. Can we get an ETA? It's now 2016, January 5. Thank you very much!

I would love to see more challenges including quirky ones like "let's walk up the Eiffel Tower!" And walk the equivalent stairs that that the Eiffel Tower has or something similar.

It would be awesome to have some challenges that track active calories burned and not just steps. That way people who are carrying a lot of extra weight around will be more motivated by the fact that even though they may be walking less steps they are still burning a lot of calories based on the sheer fact that they have more weight to carry around. Comparing a skinny person's steps and an obese person's steps really is like comparing apples and oranges.

Can your challenge checker be smarter? Currently it checks to see if I'm in five challenges, but it doesn't check to see if those challenges are at the same time. Like, if I'm in 5 workweek hustle challenges, it won't let me join a weekend challenge because I'm in 5 challenges already. Even though the weekend one won't start until the 5 workweek ones have ended. I should be able to join a weekend challenge even if I'm in a workweek challenge, since it won't start until after the workweek has ended. The software should be smart enough to see when a challenge will end and when one will begin to see if I'm in 5 simultaneously or not. Can this be fixed?

Allow long running competitions.  The one I want most is to be able to do a goal challenge that continues indefinitely.

For example:

I set up a challenge and set a minimum goal of 10k steps.

Every day that you hit your goal, you stay in the challenge.

Last one standing wins.

Could last 1 day, could last 1 year.  But it is an ultimate fitness challenege to be able to keep acheiving your goal day in and day out.

Being able to create custom challenges and share them would be awesome too.  So you could have a bank of user created challenges to try out basically.

Hi,

Is there a way to set up a challenge so it repeats automatically each week and also invites the same people?

Secondly, it is possible to set up a challenge where invited people can't invite others in?

@bkbillma   i love the idea of last man standing challenge.... i still don't understand why there is no "goal" for consecutive days of meeting goal either.

i'd really like to have a "blind" challenge.  on some of our challenge we end up turning off sync'ing till the end so nobody can just do a bunch of work at the end.   i'd like it where you could set it up to be blind until it's over then it shows the steps.  it could show where people are but just not their steps until the very end.

Having an elimination series challenge would be fun and highly motivating. Have the challenge last as many days as there are competitiors (max of 10), and the person with the least steps each day is eliminated. This also allows the competitors that are elimated to join a new challange as we have a 5 challange cap.

Like that one blind idea Thank you David frith

Agreed! More challenges, more custom challenges... An ability to run challenges that engage more than just "step count" - challenges for daily activity completion, sleep totals, water consumption, eating habits, etc....

But that still gets away from main problem of number of people and number of challenges let them sort that then they can look at other ideas Thank you David frith

this is a ridiclous thing to have happen.we need to be allowed to be in more than 5 and certainly  join challenges whilst others are going on

Wondering if it would be possible to increase the number of challenges one can participate in simultaneously.

My email to Fitbit support team:

"Good day support team,

Our Fitbit challenge group has grown due to all of us seasoned Fitbit users spreading the good word!! Now our little community of very special ladies has doubled! YAY.. However, we can only be in 5 challenges at a time & by the time we wait for completed challenges to Sync the new challenge is already full.

Our suggestions

1. More then 10 players.

2. Play more then 5 challenges.

3. Allow us to initiate or join a new challenge while our completed challenges are still in a syncing mode.

4. Allow completed challenges to sync faster.

Just food for thought now that Fitbit is appearing to be in a successful growth mode....

Respectfully,

Hi it would be great to be able to join more than 5 Challenges at a time, along with being able to add more than 10 friends to the Challenge. The Challenges are So motivating and am making a lot of friends as well in different groups, so would be good to add more in a challenge as well as have more Challenges at a time. Also it would be great if we could accept to a challenge before a previous challenge has synced without needing to quit so that we can a) see the actual final results and b) join other (and more than 5,fingers crossed) Challenges at a time)

I have a couple of suggestion's for you.

1. Being allowed to do more than 5 challenge's at once.

2. Being able to have more than 10 people in a challenge.

3. A waterproof Fitbit, that you can wear swimming would also be great.

4. Being able to accept more challenge requests once a challenge has ended, even if not everyone has had a chance to sync.

Thank you.

I agree with the previous comments that:

1 We can have more than 10 people in a challenge.

2. We can be in more than 5 challenges at a time.

3. Combine a Weekend Warrior challenge and a Workweek Hustle into the one.

4. I have made so many new friends on fitbit that it is horrible that you have to drcline challenges as you are already in 5.

Trouble is Fitbit don't take any notice of this request!

not just a case of accepting more challenges during the sync period...how about being able to accept challenges when youve got 5 but some arent starting for a few days....ie i might have two for the week end im due to be in and this is counted towards my 5 if i get requests during the week..this is just utterly stupid, how difficult would this really be to sort out????

last week i could only do 3 challenges as i had two pending for the weekend warriror

so with this system you cant really do 5 each day/week

maybe jaxkc is right

I'd like to see the 10 person limit removed from a challenge. Also remove the limit of 5 challenges at a time.

I'd like to see an option to create challenges based on other parameters besides steps. For example:

  • calories burned
  • active minutes
  • distance covered

Thanks,
