Idle Alert

I would love to have an "Idle Alert" feature added where the device would vibrate if you've been idle for a certain length of time.

My Fitbit One has some kind of ability to notice a lack of activity, or I think that is what causes the occasional messages that scroll across that I can rarely see because of how I have to wear it. I am dissappointed to see Fitbit not comment on this issue after nearly or over 2 years of customer requests. If it is a patent issue, tell us that. We will respect your honesty a lot more than you ignoring us.

I just got my FB Charge HR, and am pretty surprised this isn't an already implimented feature.

Definitely an up vote for this.

How about when you are not moving to much your Fitbit will shock you(not to high of a shock but a shock to get you up to move) I think it will help me get off my phone.

Please....Add the inactivity reminder

I wear a Surge. With alarms spaced out at time intervals (whatever no of hrs), set within Fitbit application on my iPhone, your objective is met.

Furthermore, I have option to enable these 'alarm buzz' to work only on week days. Voila.

Please add a sedentary reminder vibrate function, for everyone who spends too much time seated...duh, obviously. The human body did not evolve to stay seated/lying down for long periods... Except during sleep of course.

Adding my name to the long list as well.  Sad they aren't listening.

Heard good things about the One, bought it basically  thinking it would have something like a

"you've been sitting too long" buzz.  But it doesn't. I see users have been clamoring for it for a couple  years now.  I'm thinking I will return it and try some other product.  Any siggestions?

Please add this for the Surge as well. Thanks.

So it looks like the surge as interval alarms via the app? I have charge hr and do not see interval alarms, only alarms that can repeat daily? Interval alarms would be great for activity - get up and move or for water intake reminders. Both what i came here to request. Thanks-

This is the one feature I have been waiting on to arrive. Working in an office environment it is incredibly easy to lose track of time I have been idle. I sure hope to see this feature come soon.

Adding my voice to the choir for this feature to be added. Even if the alarm goes through the app (make my phone beep if syncing shows no steps in x amount of time) and not a direct vibration on the device would be acceptable, at least to me. Competing devices from other brands already have an "inactivity alarm" feature! The longer you wait to implement this, the more new customers you are likely losing to your competitors.

I don't use the app - but I'd love to have an inactivity notification on my charge

Ideally it would be a user choice. Folks at one end with a surge can get notifications (which if I understand correctly go to the device automatically even if you use the app), folks in the middle with the flex or charge can either have their phone blink or beep or their band vibrate, and folks like me with the Zip (that does not have vibration) can have their phone blink or beep. 🙂

I don't like wearing anything on my wrist, so telling me to upgrade is what they call a "non-starter." But at the moment upgrading would do no good anyway, as they haven't added the inactivity alarm (countdown timer, basically) feature to *any* of the devices.

I just would want inactive alert on my CHARGE HR .. on the app would be useless since I would have to remember to check the app, if I had WiFi and was connected. Audible alert would be annoying. Choice is fine, but only a buzz would be helpful.

would really like my charge HR to alert me when I haven't moved for an hour.

Would it be possible to add a feature reminding you to stand up at your desk?

In the app (or web) you could, just like for the event tracking, press a button "Start remind me" and then sync with FitBit One.

FitBit One will then at regular intervals (every 40 minutes? configurable?) vibrate as a reminder to stand up at you desk.

When you no longer wish the reminder function to be active you again go into the app and press the same button (which now have the text "Stop remind me") and again sync.

If the FitBit One is capable of differencing between standing and sitting of course you could skip the regular interval and just let the FitBit One remind me when I've been sitting "too long".

No logging needed unless the FitBit One can differenciate between sitting and standing, in which case it would be nice to see how big part of your work day you have been sitting/standing.
