Increase or customize hourly activity goal from 250 steps/hour

It would be really cool to have the option to increase the reminder to move minimum count.  Currently, the reminder to move is set to 250 and I would really like the option of raising that number as my activity increases.

I think it would be nice to be able to change the number of steps to get your dot on the reminder to move feature. Right now, it’s 250. I would love to be able to up that number.

Thanks!

I agree, we should be able to customize how many steps we want to do in a hour. People have different needs/preferences. Some people may find that 250 steps an hour is too much, due to work, injuries or whatever their personal reason is, others like me find that 250 steps is too little, and we would like to set higher goals and increase the challenge. Not sure why this is not enabled by default but i am sure it is an easy update.

Please let us customize the number of steps per hour goal to any number!

Would also love to customize the steps per hour (e.g. 500 instead of 250)!

Great suggestion. This is my most important and used feature!

Being able to specify longer times between reminders would be super great as well. I'm recovering from a chronic illness and I absolutely cannot do 250 steps every hour, but I could do it every two hours. Essentially, being able to customize this AT ALL would be great, and I don't honestly understand why we can't do it now.

Would it not also be great to have how many steps you have had per hour and then a tick next to it if you have passed your goal?

Allow me to adjust the number of steps per hour. 250 is fine, but I'd like to start adjusting that upward. Especially since there's only a total steps counter, with no finer granularity on the watch. I'd like to up the steps per hour until I can get the 10,000 steps by walking a bit per hour.

This idea has more than a year, and seems might be left here forever...  I do not see how this could hurt the product philosopy,  I think adds a lot of flexibility to user and gain more popularity.  Hope a new firmware includes this feature soon. But seems it is not about techonlogy, its about post-sale indiference

I would like to see us be able to set an hourly step goal. We can set our daily step goal so why not our hourly. We can see the 250 hourly steps but sometimes we would like to have all of our steps done by a certain time or at the end of our active hours. If we want to be done by the end of the active hours it would be nice to see how many steps we would need to take in an hour to reach our daily goal by that time. Right now I have to manually add up my steps each hour to get my goal by the end of my active hours.

ie: if the  daily step goal is 5000 steps then instead of showing the 250+ hourly it should show 625+.

I love the 250 step per hour with the reminder!  It would be even better if I had the ability to adjust to 500!

Hi,

I'd love to be able to change the number of steps you have to take each hour before your reminder goes off...

250 as a standard is fine but some people are more active or have goals themselves and it would be great to change this number to anything you like rather than a set number laid out for you.

If you could do this on the next update that would be amazing.

At the moment, it's only 250 steps - doing this won't help me reach my daily step goal.

If my goal is 10000 steps, and my reminders are set over 10 hours, (excluding other times), my reminder ought to be expecting 1000 steps per hour - it'd be helpful to kick me into gear to achieve my step goal.

It could auto adjust accordingly- 10 000 steps over 8 hours, the hourly step goal go up, 10 000 steps over 12 hours, the goal go down. For 8000 steps over 10 hours, the hourly goal would auto adjust to 800 steps etc. etc.

At the moment 250 steps is neither here, nor there. I want the reminder to be a support in achieving the daily goal.

Thank you!

Please add this feature.  Also make the alarm so you can customize it.  It is not loud enough and does not buzz long enough.  I wish I could set it to go off at the beginning of the hour and go off every 10 minutes until the goal is reached.

Increase or Customize Reminder to Move from 250 Steps/Hr

As explained in the user manual, this number is designed to get the body moving after being stationary. It was never meant to correspond with the users set goal

Thank you - have just done this now.

I did do a search before posting, but that thread didn't show for some reason.

Hi...although similar to the "hourly tracker for overnighters" suggestion....mine is slightly different.  I would love it if we could customize our hourly activity  for each day of the week to accommodate varying work/life schedules.  For example Monday, Tues, Wed - 7 AM to 7PM.  Thurs 5AM-7PM. Friday 10 AM-8PM, etc etc.  This would accommodate people who work shift work, have varying work/life schedules, etc. It could work similarly to setting events on various calendar apps on a phone.

I would like to be able to adjust the number of steps per hour that the reminder to move will prompt for. I work in a call center for 8 hours a day. So I am tied to my desk except for short breaks. I can get up for a minute or so, but not long enough to really accumulate any steps.

What I want is a reminder that i can set for a period of time - to remind me to get up and move, not to take a certain amount of steps per hour. I hope this makes sense.

Before my fitbit I had a jawbone and their app/bands to the reminder to move this way - which I found more beneficial.

My doctor has instructed me to move at least 500 steps per hour. My fitbit Reminder To Move only reminds me to move if I haven't done 250 steps per hour. I would sure appreciate this feature being adjustable so I could increase it to the 500 step minimum. Thanks.

I would like to suggest a setting that can allow users to increase their hourly step goal. When I first got my Fitbit 250 steps per hour was good but now that I am more active to would be awesome to have an option to increase my hourly step goal.
