More Challenges and Adventures

I would love to have a challenge where people's goal is to win their next stepping badge.I thing that would really make people move!

The challenges are a great way to motivate people to move.... I would like more challenges in general to motivate more. I have been doing these same challenges forever and they get boring. I want something new! Some suggestions could be but are not limited to the following:

-challenge based on calories burned instead of steps taken

-Adventure step challenges in new places (only New York and Yosemite right now?! Do a Russian trail, and Canadian, and maybe one for every country, so you can get an "around the world" badge for completing a trail in each country or contenent or something).

-new badges (completing ___ 5 times, completing ___ in 1 day, etc)

-challenge based on active minutes

-challenge based on being "in zone"  or as close to it as possible for caloric intake for the week.

-challenge for the most exercises in a week, or the longest duration of exercise

-challenge for distance gone (not steps taken)

-more step challenges

-challenge to go to sleep/wake up within your goal range.

There is sooooo much room for improvement here. 😊

They should just delete this whole section of “challenges/adventures” in the feature suggestion because it seems that none of these forums are being heard. It’s been YEARS...seriously, YEARS of us asking for any kind of updates to the challenges and adventures and NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from Fitbit. I’ve been a Fitbit user since 2014...4years I have been a Fitbit user and NOTHING has been updated. It’s very frustrating.

Fitbit, why still have this “adventure/challenges “ section in the feature suggestion? NONE, absolutely NONE of these suggestions are being heard. Its been YEARS since we have been voicing for updates to the challenges/ adventures yet NOTHING still. What is the problem here? Please explain because it is quite frustrating when Fitbit is suppose to be interactive with friends yet that is the last area to be updated. If you have time to create a female health tracker then you have time to create more challenges/adventures. Start shifting your priorities to where it needs to be, in the adventures and challenges section.

the thought of walks of different countries National Parks and the different world venues for marathons would be great - although I must agree with @Jayelo this has been requested over 3 years ago now and no news on whether it will be implemented or not - also not to sound sexist but why isn't there a male health tracked as well we have similar issues (ok we cannot get pregnant) but we have mood changes, worries about vitamins and intake, and cycles of our own - Fitbit cannot get the basics right but surge on to try and produce bigger and better programmes while leaving things like the current needs of the customs to the pixies - please update us on this request along with Logging New foods, Correcting Calendar on sleep page (there are 7 days a week not 6), correcting axis (24hr) on sleep page, removing the silly half page block on the mobile app for back history, allow customisation on large tile (or give us the option to separate the tiles), fix the hover over function on Firefox - main dashboard website (works on IE11) to name but a few

This feature suggestion is full of comments, complaints. criticism  and threats , but no votes or constructive suggestions. Without more votes this request might never be seen by the developers. Also please look at the Feature Suggestion FAQ

As for Fitbit not listening. the only reason we have the Adventures and Challenges is because of a Featured Request that was brought up and received votes.

With over 1 million Versas already shipped, not to mention the billion of the other models out in the wild. If this was really wanted it would be flooded with votes. And not just 23 a month.

If this is going to happen .then people need to start advertising and encouraging others to vote. The easiest way is to put a link in your sigsand get involved in the community.

I can think of many suggestions implemented. removable bands, the special edition tracker, arm based trackers also was requested, the Fitbit flight on the Charge 2, a tracker with built in gps. The chronograph watch face that was in response to the medical comunity, the ionic with a user adorable timeout feature, auto detection of certain activities, just to name a few that comes to mind.

You guys need to recruit more votes!

@Rich_Laue  Thank you for the input - I would like to add I have voted, I have given constructive criticism/suggestions, but the issue is time this has been going on for 3 years don't you think people stop commenting/voting when they figure out its a lost cause - like leading a horse to water but you cannot make it drink - a good idea is a good idea and shouldn't have to wait for an undetermined amount of votes / time before we are told a) its a good idea and we will post further progress reports, b) we are closing this suggestion as it is not feasible, c) right guys heres the deal I (moderators name) think this is a good idea and if we surpass (say) 350 votes I will take it forward and look for Fitbits suggestions/response within 2 weeks - this isn't a feature/suggestion as such this is an enhancement on what we already have - remember not all Fitbit users are American and where as its fun for us non - Americans to see the city/ national park I think that those that cannot travel would like to see what other countries have to offer also, its all about options and choice

as for complaints - yes you will get them until answers are provided - I agree this might not be the best page for them -  but the same complaints are coming up per page/per suggestion thread/per forum/per issue report - to stop the complaints they need to be addressed in a timely matter - surely that's a logical solution and a realistic one.

I am not being aggressive/argumentative or trying to cause upset and if it come across that way I apologise - but - Fitbit have to share some of the responsibility and on that basis I wont go back into the above comment ref basics

hope you understand that timing is everything and regular updates are a must throughout every section of the site - 3 years for a suggestion and over 6 weeks for an error report to be fixed is not the way to get on customers good side

I may not be a legend but I involve myself in the community as much as work allows and my point of view should be just as important as the newest member to the oldest and most loyal community legend (I am aware you wasn't having a dig at me per say but the frustration with everything that's not happening at present is annoying to say the least)

kind regards

I agree with what @ashwolve wrote. Also, this isn’t the only forum asking for more updated challenges and adventures. Many others have very detailed suggestions on what Fitbit can do to create more adventures/challenges. This is just 1 of them and it seems like which ever one you chose to comment on, neither gets heard. Just the same cut and paste response of the moderators and then they disappear. No comments from them after. Although, one did say they are currently no plans for any updates for the adventures and challenges which I think is unacceptable after years of people requesting this in many different posts and which Fitbit advertises as an interactive community for the fitness devices. So yes, I feel the need to keep posting because it’s obvious Fitbit is uninterested in continuing one of the best features they had and for some reason they feel it is unnecessary to continue developing it.

Here is a response I received from Fitbit:

Hi Patricia,

We appreciate you reaching out to us regarding the challenges our customers want to add.

We’d like to assure you that our product development teams consult regularly to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want.

As much as we want to respond to every feature suggestion, we’re unable to do so due to high volume of requests. However, our product team looks forward to reading and incorporating your suggestions into future versions of Fitbit trackers and apps.

So it sounds to me that they are pretty much doing nothing about it. If the case is due to high volume of request I would have expected an answer more towards them saying something like “due to the high volume of request we are excited to say that we are definitely in the works of creating new challenges and adventures within the next few months....” but it’s been YEARS so this just sounds like a big old lame excuse of them not doing anything at all. Super lame Fitbit.

I think the high number of requests is in general not just for this item - which also begs the question if there are so many requests for different things that they are not listening to the requirements of the customer both in features and in fixes for problems that have been brought to there attention - apparently if they have a really really good suggestion it still wont have anything done with it unless it reaches an required amount of votes (what are they British Government?? ) then they developers may see it, then I am guessing they take a vote to see if they want to do it or not (this is the only reason I can think of for them taking so long over anything they do on site) - this cannot be that hard as it looks like they take the routes from Google Earth - most other companies I know of have more pep when it comes to consumer relations (and we are talking higher up than the support/Moderators who can only pass on the information) what we need is for the shareholders to start loosing out unless they start to maintain and improve at a decent pace not weeks/months/years.

If i go by past responses. the reply at best would be ."we are looking into it, but do not have a time frame'.

The only time we will see anything more exact woildwbe I'm a public announcement.

I went back to the app and just stared at the Solo Adventures again. It is as if they were developed in beta then abandoned in pursuit of banging out new accessories, styles and features. The Solo Adventures are a GREAT idea for certain people (like me) who do not wish to join groups and don't have a friend / coworker network that regularly participate. Perhaps the feature is ignored because it is not used enough, but perhaps it is not used enough because it's super boring after the first few times you use it. There should be dozens of Solo Adventures of varying lengths all around the world that change out on a semi-regular/quarterly basis. What's so frustrating is it doesn't seem like a particularly difficult thing to pull together. Heck, they might even be able to get tourism boards and park services to participate and create a new revenue stream. Bottom line, FitBit needs to make a decision - it's either a great idea or it isn't; keep Solo Adventures and make them better or remove them from the app altogether. In its current state, it serves to tease users and ultimately frustrate us. So many other adventure locales have been suggested in these forums, so no need to repeat them. Keep making that money, though, FitBit. I guess there are enough new consumers out there to keep selling product, but it's bad to keep ignoring customer complaints in the long run. Barring any meaningful action on this issue, I am not buying a new FitBit when my Blaze is done. And I definitely do not recommend your product to friends anymore. The honeymoon is over, FitBit.

Yes nailed it. I bought my fitbit blaze on eBay and don't have plans to buy
another one lol...when it does, that's it. I can just as easy go to AAA and
get a trip tik and record miles on that LOL

That's exactly why I quit Fitbit in April of 2018. I no longer wear my
watch and I am currently looking at other options.
Fitbit shows no concern about their customer's ideas.

My thoughts exactly. I would never recommend Fitbit to anyone.

Mysel, my partner, and her eleven year old all now have fitbit ionic's and we have invested heavily in the experience - while we love the devices themselves, it struck us immediately that the lack of challenges is a ridiculous omission. You have all the data and people have been complaining since 2015 about the same four challenges.

It's truly bizarre. You should be able to challenge for calories, different lengths of time, flights of stairs, and swimming.

There should clearly also be a driving mode and sitting mode so you don't get spurious steps input.

Please address this soon - this thread has been here since 2015.

We're seriously considering moving to Garmin as it's a total waste of good hardware to have such a limited app.

Please sort it out.

I love to see more solo challenges from all over the world. I would really love if you did one of mackinaw island!!!!

I think it would be awesome if there was an adventure set where we can walk the Disney parks around the world and the treasures we get can be souvenirs from the parks like ear hats and Mickey pretzels. 😁 thanks in advance for reading my idea.

@Acwphotos914 I love that idea - what a wonderful novelty adventure - you could possible even shorten them as well to each area (ie tarzan adventure, starwars adventure, and so on) - and a large adventure that covers the whole park like the new York adventure and the Yosemite Adventure does  - big thumbs up here,

also world national parks and capital cities would be a good ones

Adventures need to be updated constantly. There should be new ones to complete every month. Not so much fun when you’ve done Yosemite a dozen times.

1. I don’t know how to vote since I can’t find the spot to vote myself. I can only see what other people have voted...

2. How about a TEAM CHALLENGE?

Like together let’s reach a quarter of a million steps, or my work department could verse another department at work and team captains must be friends in the community page? This would really help people who shy away from challenges because they feel like they would always come in last. Now, they have a team sharing the burden with them.

You could do all sorts of TEAM Challenges like “Walk Aross America” week (distance), “Climb the Empire State Building” (floors), Total Step Record, and more!

I would love to do this BIG & COLLABORATIVE challenges with a team of my own choosing and not just a hundred random fitbit users. Also, the collaborative takes some of the competitive hostility out of it.

@Only Hi and Welcome - at the top of the page on the left is a Thumbs up with a number above it - to vote left click or press on the thumbs up and the colour  will change you have now posted your vote (if you click on the number you can see who has voted you can also look here to confirm you have voted) - once you have voted if you should change your mind hover over the same symbol and a message will appear to click to remove vote this is the same for all suggestion posts - in the actual forums you will see a vote button on the bottom right of each post so you can vote if you like or agree to what another member has written

as for the team challenge I like the idea and I have noticed that on occasions fitbit hold a goal day for general use but I do like the option to be able to choose friends or a group to enter a challenge with

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Wayne
