Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

I would also like a trade-in program. I got the Alta back in December and my biggest complaints were not having a more detailed workout tracker and a heart rate monitor. Now the Alta HR has come out and I have no way of trading my almost new Alta for the Fitbit I would prefer. You guys would do really well if you treated products the way Apple does so folks can always keep up with the new technology!

Yes!!!  I've been a Fitbit user for 3 years now and would LOVE this!  I'm sure an upgraded Blaze will be released eventually, and I don't want to spend another $200 when it is!

It's 7/10/2017 and there's still no trade or upgrade program, I'm fairly disappointed that fitbit isn't doing anything about this 😕

It would absolutely awesome if there would be a change to trade in your watch for another with a discount or something similar!

I would like to see a trade in program come into action. I would like to have one with a heart monitor in it. That would be nice!

I want to advocate for a trade-in program as I too want to upgrade my Alta to a Charge 2. Come on, Fitbit, make it happen!!

I wish we could trade in our old fitbits for a credit of a certain amount to go towards our new fit bit prices!

Is there a plan to offer a trade in program? I have an Alta that is in perfect condition, but want the new special edition black and gold instead of  the black and silver I have currently. I can't justify spending over $130 on a new product when mine works fine, but would be interested in swapping the colors out.

I absolutely agree; a trade-up/trade-in program would keep Fitbit users as loyal customers for years to come. I had a Fitbit Surge, and now a Blaze, and my broken-down Surge is sitting in a drawer. My wife now has a Blaze, too, and we bought the Aria to help us make even more progress towards our goals. Now that the Aria 2 is coming out - and our Aria is still in perfect condition - it'd be nice to be able to trade up for a discount on the 2nd generation scale. Not to mention trading in our Blazes for the new Ionic tracker!

I'm totally done with Fitbit.

They have little integrity and no wish to develop brand loyalty in this way

Don't get me wrong, I still love my Fitbit Alta.
I have bought a couple new bands, and it is good to change them out for different looks, as well as uses - Rubber for workouts, sleek metal for work or dress.
I do wish they had a trade-in program, but the way technology changes so rapidly, I am happy with what I have, and will most likely upgrade when I feel the need.
The old one will go to e-recycle with old batteries and mice and keyboards.........

I second all the requests about a trade in/upgrade program. I have a couple old fit bits that are physically damaged but work just fine. I would love to trade them in and upgrade. The new ones are just too expensive!

Fit bit are you getting any closer to implementing an upgrade program. Your
customers want one. Will you respond accordingly?

I agree. Fitbit sends me ads daily, enticing me to update. A trade-in program would be nice. Can Fitbit “see” our watches online and assess their condition?  My first two Fitbit products did not perform as expected and Customer Service “tried” to help. They even replaced one.  They offered a retail store discount on my third (upgrade).  I stood by their product and purchased my third at the retail store.  I am active in that I wear my Fitbit 24 hrs a day in all environments. I will be upgrading and am evaluating the Apple and other waterproof items as well.  Fitbit is great! But give us some encouragement to “buy” as existing users.  Please don’t wait for your numbers to drop and Board members to start asking questions that you think you already have answers for. Be the pioneer that got you to the level you are now.

YES!  I am with you.  I keep my Alta on all the time and only take it off when I have to take a shower. Just like you I am also exploring some of the other products on the market. It would be really nice if Fitbit would offer some type of a loyalty program that included trade ins to upgrade to a better model!

I bought an Alta from someone but I rather have a blaze 2 or the new one. I have to wait and see what I can get.

I bought the Fitbit Alta before the Alta HR came out - surely there must be a way to trade in these devices?

I am in full support of an exchange program or trade in program. As new products are frequently developed and the upgrades are impressive. But to take out $150 plus each year for an upgrade is a bit much and also one does not want a practically new Fitbit lying in the cupboard, thus I would support a trade in program.

I would rather be outdated than broke. My Charge 2 has been mostly good for the time I've had it without wanting to get a new model like the Blaze, but with the release of the new Ionic watch I find myself wanting to upgrade. As much as I would like the new watch I can't justify spending that much money on a product I have a "good enough" version of already. I think that it would benefit the company to offer a trade in/upgrade program because many people are like me and won't want to purchase something new when we already spent the money on a lesser one beforehand. Fitbits are technology and in today's world it changes faster than we can even keep up with if we are forced to get each new release this way.

Would be a great idea.

Especially for the people who just recently got Fitbit Surge, only to realize that no new features will be rolled out to it, and they would have been better off buying a much cheaper Charge2.

I very much agree! I am a swimmer and have wanted to start training for my university's swim club so i can try out, but i would like to use my fit it to be able to track things properly, but I only have the charge two and am too broke to update to any new fit bits, and so I would love to see a program like this implemented

This needs to happen. I have two fitbits more than 3 years old with poor batteries that need constant recharging, would like to declutter and trade them in for a new one.

I too am in favour of an upgrade scheme as my whole family has the charge hr and we all want to ‘upgrade’ but no reward for loyalty, should we abandon the Fitbit and get a rivals tracker for cheaper, this would be a shame but I’m thinking about it now.

When a tracker fails and is available for a warranty replacement it would be nice to have the option to upgrade and pay the difference.
