Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

Hi @fibby, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about providing discounts on upgrades. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.

Love this idea. Got charge 3 last year, and look forward to upgrading to charge 4 if there is a trade-in program!

I would like to make a suggestion for part exchanging older fitbit models for newer versions.

I had a charge 2 and upgraded to the charge 3 when it was released. I would love to be able to upgrade to the charge 4 but I just couldn't afford to do it again, it would be great if we could part exchange previous models to reduce the price.

Fitbit could then sell on the part exchanged models to people that don't mind an older model but want one at a reduced cost.

Thanks

This issue has been totally ignored by Fitbit.  If any thought by this company for trade in/upgrade was actually being considered it would have happened by now..  Too bad, actually the product is decent, but could be improved if someone was listening instead of just raking in the dough $$ is the bottom line.

Your reply is totally inept. Fitbit has absolutely no intention of an
upgrade program.

Wow and you have to be rude about it

Sometimes if you ask it happens

I am replying to my own original email, suggesting a trade in/Upgrade Program.
I have had my Charge 2 for quite some time now. My 1st two Fitbits were short-lived, but I continued to support the product. The Charge model has progressed to a Charge 4. My mere “2” at this point would be worthless as a trade. Fitbit reviews are good. I am working on my 2nd band. When my C2 dies, I will then begin my shopping process.
Thanks to all for supporting my endeavor. Bottom line is that Fitbit is not going to offer a trade up. The discounts they offer will be no better than buying from a distributor (nor should they be). Fitbit is now owned by Google. Who knows? Fitbit, like Cabella’s, owned by Bass Pro, may be about to be discontinued. Or maybe not.

Maybe adding a classifieds section to the Community Forums where used devices and accessories can be sold, purchased, or traded. While adding a classified section is easy, moderating it is not.

Could list on eBay - it's a robust, moderated method for selling new and used equipment.

I told everyone a long time ago to not expect Fitbit to care about
Customers. switch to Garmin now, thank me later.

I don't know why I get updates about these threads. Gonna have to
deactivate my account. I switched to Garmin last year, and have been
consistently blown away by the product features, and constantly updated app.

I am satisfied with Fitbit but I will check also Garmin range of products.

Thank you for your suggestion .

I will be some how sad to change the brand but this is the market ...

Bang on. I kept myself signed up for these posts thinking maybe, just
maybe, one day they would hear their customers. They didn't.

I switched to a Garmin Vivosport, and got my partner a Garmin Vivosmart.
Game changers I will NEVER go back to Fitbit. I gave my kid the old fitbit
for him to play with.

Fitbit was a name that got me into fitness tracking, but other
companies have products that are just so much better. Fitbit should
have taken the suggestion of a trade in program if they wanted customer
loyalty.

Cheers.

@Primine why did you choose Garmin, they do not offer a trade up or buy back. You can use this website with both Fitbit and Garmin.

A trade in option or some type of voucher would be a huge help and incentive to update. I've been looking into updating from my charge HR (I've had it for years it's not holding a charge as well as it used to), but unfortunately with everything going on, I cannot afford it.

Hi

I would strongly recommend there should be buyback / exchange offers available for upgrading to new devices , with no built in gps Charge 3 is massively dissapointing and want to upgrade but there is no platform where I can sell my old device .

Fitbit should come with official exchange or buyback offers .

Considering this has been going on for 5 years now I think it's time for a trade in program. If not for the money then at least for the old fitbits to be recycled. Even if it's something like $20 off your next purchase, something is better than nothing.

Seams that Fitbit doesn't care about customers ....

Hi @Aditisojatia, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see the option to exchange Fitbit products. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.

I totally love the dynamics offered by fitbit initially with charge 2 and now with charge 3 futher  would want to continue association and being able to upgrade  with a trade in is a major key to the same .

Add my voice to this idea of trade-in which i see as a win / win for customers, company and more importantly the environment.

This would be good for Fibit customers to stay loyal to the brand and for Fibit it would be financially a good idea to have customers come back for new products with new features plus makes it more environmentally friendly. All companies should look to design new products with the idea to recycle from the start. This would enable everyone to enjoy new products in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Fit Bit be brave and be the 1st company to pioneer this idea and watch all other companies follow...this i feel will have to come to past as we have only so much resources on this planet.

Cheers

It would be awesome if you had a trade-in or trade-up policy for repeat customers, I'd love to upgrade (and it's always nice to be offered a discount when you're a loyal, repeat customer).
