HRV and SPO2 accuracy on Sense?

Just got Sense. The resting heart rate measurement seems accurate at rest, however I have concerns about the accuracy of the HRV and SPO2. For SPO2, I have a separate Pulse Oximeter. When compared, the Sense reading is always a bit lower. So far, the HRV result I've gotten is very low. Considering the averages for my age and my overall health, this seems very off, and I will be testing HRV on another device. Has anyone else noticed these issues?

Interesting. Are there data to support that? What do you think about Whoop?

Consider that HRV depends strongly on how you breathe during the 2 minutes of measurements
(my can be anywhere between 20-63 depending on how deeply and/or slowly I breathe)

I thought HRV is is measured using your resting heart rate and breathing per minute?

It is a measure of fluctuation of the time intervals between succeeding
heartbeats

Very pleased to hear this. Fitbit also says I have a HRV of 15. It freaks me out.

I am so grateful to find his post. I don't have an answer but I do know my HRV averages anywhere from 14-21 on average, and has hit as high as 31 only twice. It's actually caused me quite a bit of anxiety so I am grateful to read here that it's just not accurate. I wish they would not add features that could possibly do more harm than help if they are not accurate measurements.

So chiming in many months later…

1. I think the Fitbit data needs more time than a month for this to get to be more accurate.

2. While my average level is lower I have had readings in the 40’s and 50’s on occasion. I’m someone who works hard, exercises and plays hard so sleep is generally low for me and I think sleep is a big driver either for the time to measure or the actual reading. I have seen a correlation to improved sleep and higher HRV.

3. While I’ve found Fitbit data to be more accurate than Whoop for GPS and heart rate their HRV data are in line. (I wear both now).

I am the same! I have now owned this device for about one year and the HRV never changes. I am still alive and without health conditions so I think the watch is wrong ! Lol - let’s hope so!

I am a cyclist. My resting heartrate is 48-60

My HRV is routinely 18-19? What the?? Very unhealthy? Has me very worried

My HRV on Whoop varies from 24 to 38 - not great, but not awful for a 68
year old woman. Fitbit has never read higher than 22, and usually reads in
the teens. I think Fitbit’s data is inaccurate. Real HRV calculation is
complex. Sooo….I’m less worried than I was.

Typically, my HRV measured by Fitbit is between 30 and 60 ms, while SpO2 is between 95 and 98 %.

I am a retired RN and for a cyclist a resting heart rate of 48-60 is
normal. We were never concerned about HRV so I know much less about that.
I don't know how accurate Fitbit watch is in HRV but if you are otherwise
healthy I wouldn't be concerned. Might be something to ask a trainer or
your PCP about.

Try your spo2 on the other hand my spo2 gives a false reading if I use it on the same hand

My RHR is 77 which is highest ever for me, and my HRV is 13, my lowest ever was 12.  My highest 23.
How do we know when to ask our dr?

I believe if your sleep is less than 3 hours then you do not see BR, HRV and skin temperature.

This is the case on my fitbit sense and I have been noticing this trend from last 6 months.
