Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

How's did you get the MFP fix? Assume it doesn't update automatically - I just entered entire day's food at once into Breakfast and had to delete c.20 multiple entries in Fitbit!

Oh bother. Same for me. MFP put out an update for the app earlier today and it appeared to work initially. Now that I have checked again, it is still up to this weird multiple thing. Pooh!

It's multiplying. Now the 6000 calories for yesterday is showing up as 9500! I imagine we aren't the only ones seeing this. I'm going to contact tech support . Will post if there's a solution forthcoming.

How do you delete them? I didn't see that as an option in fitbit app

This should not still be going on.  Just a waste of time to correct my food log everytime I add something in MyFitnessPal.

Press and hold each entry and you get a pop-up asking if you want to delete.

Double click on Calorie In/Out area
Click on See more & go to Logged Foods
Hover over the meal area & an x will appear
Click on that to delete entry.

Good luck

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Food logged in myfitnesspal shows up multiple times in the fitbit app. It's telling me I'm 8000 calories above my daily goal, haha.

Hi All! I think it is safe to say that we are all experiencing this issue. We know that both MFP and Fitbit are trying to figure out the issue and how to fix it. In the interim, it is relatively easy to delete the duplicate food entries from your Fitbit account. I am sure that when this issue is resolved, that will be posted here.

I'm having the same issue. Yesterday and today! Tells me I've eaten almost 7000 calories when I've only had 429 so far! I just email support so hopefully they will fix this!

Thank goodness. I thought it was just me! I'm starting to get very fed up with Fitbit. I wouldn't mind, but the Charge HR isn't exactly cheap, and this, combined with the quite frankly ridiculous stairs issue (when I dry my hands with the dryer at work, I do an extra 6 flights of stairs) is getting me to the point where I ask for a refund and buy a tracker from another supplier.

Whew! I was afraid I was the only one have MyFitnessPal entries multiplied. It began a couple days ago (after downloading the latest update for Fitbit). It's a bit of a pain in the hand to have to remove the extra entries but I'm sure the fine folks @ Fitbit will get it taken care of quickly. 🙂

Yep, me too! Fitbit is recording every edit and entry and not deleting any of the old entries! I had to delete manually from the Fitbit app! Deleting in myFitnessPal and re-entering info only enters another entry into Fitbit.
I'll tell you, I'm about fed up with Fitbit! I'll probably never buy another one! For the amount of $$$ they cost, and that they are supposed to be for use during activity, they are pretty poor quality! I've had mine since May and it's already scratched up, not too big a deal, but the plastic band is also coming apart and that is a big deal. On top of that the app never seems to be completely accurate; especially with food and cals in/out, but activity and sleep too! Makes me wonder if the calories burned is anywhere accurate - and that's the figure I'm most concerned with! If I can't trust it I need something else! 😕

I'm having the same problem. I just bought my Charge and started using it on Saturday so I had no idea why it was doing this. I input all my food on MFP and I've been going by the calorie amounts there. I thought it was a Charge thing until I checked on here. Hopefully someone is on this. I've had to delete multiple added meal amounts every day.

I feel the same way as you do Javawitch.  This is my first Fitbit but my wife's second (third technically).  Her first Fitbit died within six months and she was sent a replacement.  She now has the Fitbit Charge HR and it is more inaccurate than mine is.  She is having the same issues as discussed in this thread too.  My sister-in-law has had her Fitbit replaced twice, also a Charge.

The only reason I still went with Fitbit after knowing of these other issues was due to the poor performance and inaccurate tracking of their competitors products.  But as you said, with how much these cost some of these issues should not be happening.  It seems every time the app is updated something else pops up.  Both myself and my wife have not been receiving notifications for calls and other activities on our new Fitbits for the past few months.  And that was one of the main features I liked about it - yet it's not working.  Sad!

Add me to the list. I just bought my Charge and thought it was a dud! Glad I looked here. Seems like a glitch between MyFitnessPal and the Charge. Help us, Fitbit!!!
