Fitbit Update 9/19/16

This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.

Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!

Fitbit Update 5/23

There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss.  If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

Hi everyone!

Just in the event you all were unable to review previous posts (it took me a week - I get it), keep trying to sync the exercise

Repeat the process until the activity syncs.

My process is:

  1. record activity
  2. if activity does not sync, select option to re-sync
  3. in the event it fails to sync, exit the application, terminate the application (iphone users double click home button and swipe the app up to kill it)
  4. Relaunch application and navigate to the activity
  5. open un-synced activity
  6. Select option to re-sync
  7. Repeat until successful
  8. This may take two tries, or it might take 75 and a few hours. But it WILL work.

By using the above method, I have been able to sync all activities, despite initial failure to sync.

I'm not going to spend hours syncing every walk. Shorter exercises are easier to sync (like most of yours) but mine are mostly 3-5 hours and they just won't sync.

Absolutely agree.

I'm feeling the same. I am starting to look at other products that do this now.

I'm afraid to say that my Blaze is the same when I click the + and then Track Exercise options in the Fitbit App. When I've finished my walk, the app shows the map and distance covered but none of the other details - it simply shows a red bar near the top of the screen with black writing saying, "try again to sync". When you then tap this red bar the phone (running iOS 9.3.3) just shows as accessing the Internet but nothing else ever happens. Seems that there is a gremlin in either the app or the Fitbit server. Also, when I view the summary screen after tapping the "weekly exercise" button in the app, it shows the workouts as "(not synced)" in red writing.

I've only had the Blaze a few days and was pretty excited about joining this tech revolution with activity trackers. To say I'm disappointed is an under-statement. I was hoping that ditching my chest mounted Bluetooth heart monitor and also having to use a number of apps for now just using one device that I wear on my wrist most of the time and only using one app now was the answer, but this clealy isn't the case. Not happy Fitbit, please sort this out and please do it soon. Thank you.

Any chance Fitbits techs will ever figure this out? Ya'll have been working on this for a long, long time now.

Fitbit is too busy preparing to launch their next big product. Once they launch a product, support and updates are minimal.

I think what Fitbit fails to understand is that people want the split times and statistics for each piece of exercise they do. I did 16km this morning and I'm interested to know what the times are for each km.

Same issue with my flex. And shorter runs dont see such problem.

Typically exercises around an hour or shorter sync really fast but my saturday long runs never sync smoothly.

Last few weeks i got trouble when sync the long runs but somehow they ended up all right (through repeatedly reboot both phone/flex, turn on/off wifi and bluetooth tho, not sure which move actually got it right)

Today again i tracked a 2.5 h run and got ready to stick a while on syncing, but till now I still get the pink 'not synced'. Rebooting or reseting in any dimension aint working any more at the moment.

Hello everyone! Currently there is an issue with iOS devices that activities longer that 90 minutes aren't saved or synced to your account. As far as I know the techs are aware of this issue and working on find a fix for it but it may take some time before this is done. Keep an eye to any app update to see if the issue has been corrected. If I get any notification I will be more than happy to share it here with you.

I'll be around!

I had been having this problem for syncing long runs, but thought it might be power saving/screen-lock in ios interupting the upload.

Going to "settings" in ios, "general", "auto-lock" then setting time to 5 minutes seems to have sorted it.

Is there a fix for this as yet please?

So we need to stop and restart after 90 mins? Ugh not really what I was hoping for but at least it will be recorded.

@gouldtm

There's no need to stop or restart anything. Most exercises, from my experience & devices, will sync without intervention.

Rides in excess of 60min+ may need multiple attempts to sync.

If you need the GPX/TCX data, just. keep. trying. Do not be discouraged to TRY.

Hi all,

This issue is still on our team's radar and we are working on a fix.

I know I've said this before, but please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, this could cause data loss for workouts that haven't been synced yet.

Additionally, I've seen a few posts about a different issue where users are experiencing a an infinite spinner in the iOS App for workouts that are longer than 90 minutes. This is a separate issue and you can find more information here.

Well your mileage may vary on the data not being lost, all my unsynced workouts disappeared several weeks ago without my uninstalling/reinstalling the app. I use Runkeeper now, and I don't bother manually adding the workouts in fitbit as that overwrites the otherwise accurate step data that was collected by my zip with a flatline average.

Hi all,

I went out a 10.3k walk yesterday and was excited to get back and see my splits and calories etc, when the workout won't sync to the app! Very annoying.

I have trawled the forums and spoken to someone online, and nothing has worked. Have tried all suggestions about restarting tracker, checking step accuracy, trying to load it online, and literally nothing has worked. The person I spoke to on chat kept telling me my workouts at 06:05 pm and 10:30pm were logged, which is funny as I had never done any workouts then!

Can someone shed any light on this as I'm seriously about to give up and switch device to a jawbone or something.

Thanks!
