Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/22
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

For clarification we have two subjects in this thread that are not tightly related.
- The User Interface (UI) ie old vs new dashboard
- The latest Fitbit App version.
A user can have one without the other, most users received one before the other and not as a package.
Sync issues would not be caused by the new UI (dashboard) but by the new app.
I do agree that as with any UI update there is some fine tunning that is needed.
I've noticed that with every dashboard change, people love or hate it. This happened in 2016 and again in 2017, it is being repeated in 2019.
This means the dashboard you are asking to have back is the very same dashboard that people hated and did not want to use back in 2017. Then of course the dashboard that was loved in 2017 is the dashboard everyone hated in 2016) I found the old posts complaining about how horrible the dashboard you want back is.
@Robyn-TWR I have noticed some post about not being able to start a challenge. While I have confirmed many with the new UI and latest app have no problems starting a challenge. The problem do Fitbit is to figure out what the cause of this is. And why it works for some and not others. Hint: it is much easier to track down when it doesn't work for all.
BTW I have the new UI (love it) and running the latest betta Fitbit app and am currently in a champagne I started.

@Rich_Laue @It’s more than just not liking change. Things aren’t working.
1. Cant sneak peak anymore. The sneak leak button is there, but the challenges crashes when you try to use it.
2. Cant start a new challenge, unless it’s a rematch situation. When I go to the Discover Page, then the Challenge tile & chose the challenge type I wish to start, I can go no further. I’m told I’m at my challenge limit, when I am not. This is not only happening to me. Other friends are telling me the same.
3. On the today page, Challenges are a jumbled mess. Although I’ve discovered a how to manually sort them (which I shouldn’t need to do), my manual sort doesn’t stick. The next day, it’s a jumbled mess again.
The other changes I don’t like, but could live with. I don’t care about the colours, I do care about all the scrolling that the Today screen now requires, but I can learn to get over that - but the things that don’t work make this layout too annoying to work with. It should be rolled back until it’s fixed. I didn’t sign up to beta test their UI

@Robyn-TWR some of those things your triggering to are related to the App and others related to the UI, some are bugs while others may be by design.
As for challenges in jumbled mess. I never noticed them being organized in the old UI.
I do like that Fitbit has listened to its users and moved Challenges to the main screen.
I noticed that we can, through settings, move challenges to the bottom, for now, but then any new Chapman he's show up under today.. This to me is an annoyance.

Yes in 2016 we have a series of complaints.
"last two horrible" (2016)
Updated dashboard *** (2016)
Go Back to OldDashboard (2016)
Frustrating Dashboard (2016)
Then again in 2017.
"so bad" (2017)
How do I switch back to old dashboardon the mobil Dated 2017
I am appalled at the new Dashboard (2017)
Detest new dashboard, can I switch back? (2017)
Don't like new dashboard (2017)

Hi @Rich_Laue
in the old layout, at least for me, new and/or unanswered invitations always appeared at the top of my challenge list. Completed challenges always appeared at the bottom of the list. Accepted and current challenge were grouped in the middle. I knew quickly where my active challenges were. Now I have them all over the place. New and/or unaccepted invitations are at the top of the list, at the bottom of the list and in the middle. Same with ended challenges, they are all mixed up with my current ones.
Moving them is all very well. I did that - woke up the next morning and they’re back to being a mess. If manually moving them would stick, I would accept that as a solution.
Having challenges on the Today page is a major annoyance for me. Far too much scrolling on one page - If they gave me a choice between the old and the new, I’d jump back to the old. I liked all my stats at a glance - the old layout gave me that. Although it would be reluctantly, I’d accept the new layout without complaining, if they’d fix my other bug bears.
As to whether its the UI or the App causing the bugs, that doesn’t matter to me. I didn’t sign up to be a beta tester for either of these.
Also, surely it’s not by design that I can’t sneak peak. The sneak peak button is still there. If it’s there, it should work.
Surely its also not by design that I cannot issue an invitation for a new challenge, when I am bellow my challenge limit. I can hit “rematch” but I can’t start a fresh challenge.

@Rich_Laue Your point? So then there are two issues:
07-15-2019 06:53
07-15-2019 06:53
Hello @Arcticsnow17
Challenges where moved I the dashboard as a result of users requesting this.
The size of the print member was an issue. A quick glance at the graph has all ways been enough to tell me how close I am to my goal. I do understand how the size could be a bother to some.
Getting to the battery hasn't changed.
Tap the top to go to the device list
Tap the bottom to go directly to the device settings.
Tapping wither place will get you to the device. Notice the battery level.
Notice battery level
As for scrolling. All of today's stats are still in the same place with no scrolling needed.
This is the latest version of the dashboard.
Current challenges can be easily removed to the bottom. Requests will still show up under today. To me this is acceptable to get my attention. It is unacceptable that when accepted they do not move to the bottom. I believe if this is pointed out to the developers, this can easily be fixed.
This exact issue was fixed in the past.

You say the challenges can be moved to the bottom, underneath all of the stats. You’re correct - but for me this fix didn’t stick. I did this yesterday, at the same time as I re-ordered the challenges themselves. Woke up this morning and it all reverted back. If manually sorting the Today page would stick, I’d reluctantly accept it. In my opinion, it was better to have the challenges separated - but I acknowledge that’s just my personal preference and you can’t please everyone.
EDIT: I had gone to the bother of manually sorting the Today page for yet a 2nd time. It’s just gone midnight where I live, so it seems that midnight is the trigger for Fitbit to undo my manual sorting. So for now, suggesting we manually sort the today page how we prefer it is not a solution - at least it is not for me. I wish it worked for me 😢

Yes @keohke some got the two about or at the same time.
Some still have the new app without the new UI while others got the New UI 2+ weeks before the new app.
I was able to get the new UI weeks before the standard user was able to and have had it for about a month, maybe a week more.
Yes after a month of use I'm finding navigation more intuitive and thus easier and quicker to get around the app.
I assume for most this will be a simaler experience and a repeat of the experience of others with the last updated.

That’s my experience too. I even moved them today and an hour later they moved back. It’s not acceptable
EDIT: it’s only 9am and I have already re-order challenges 3 times today. I am saving them after each move. Let’s hope the 3rd move sticks for at least 24 hours .... but even if it does, I don’t want to have to move them every day. I have a life outside of Fitbit

I really dislike the new dashboard. The only thing that is visible on it is calories. It no longer logs my steps etc have contacted Fitbit but am waiting to hear back. Seriously unimpressed with a product I previously loved. Why on earth did they change it..this is regression not progression.

I’m having the same problem. There seem to be so many glitches with the new dashboard. I have an Alta which I love but it seems I am no longer able to see anything other than colonies on the new dashboard. Please someone help!

So Fitbit will not revert back to the old one— but PLEASE make some option to increase the size of the numbers and icons! For those with visual impairments this is severely disappointing.
Also if you go to the App Store and look at all the most recent reviews a huge majority of them from the last dashboard are all one stars. The developer response is basically “sorry not sorry that you hate the new dashboard”. As a user for 6 years I’ve continued to buy new Fitbits (Ive never had one last more than 2 years) but the time has come to move on and okay with that.

Well said...I totally agree. How sad that one feels totally ignored by Fitbit.

The new app is reallybad. I'm adding my voice to the chorus that wants the option of returning to the old one. I travel frequently and spend a lot of time without a data connection, which I apparently need to sync and see my stats. Even when connected sync is sporatic and slow. I was looking at buying a new device, but this updated app and seeming indifference to your customers (not to mention bad design) has me looking seriously at dropping FitBit and going with something else.
