Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/22
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

The article does help on some of the issues I had with the display. At the same time - the display isn't as intuitive or user friendly as the previous version. The previous version also provided much more data at a glance - and a quicker / easier mechanism for personalizing the display. I appreciate your help as folks transition - at the same time who is listening (and applying) our feedback?
**I tried to vote on some of the posts - and the voting option was removed. If the feed is closed - it would be better to remove the feed completely than to allow us to see it but not comment or vote on it. Leaving the feed there but not allowing us to vote gives us the feeling that our feedback on that issue is not wanted or valued.

@Rich_Laue If you’re going to keep trolling people who are clearly unhappy, at least be creative and come up with a better shtick than repeatedly reminding people that Fitbit has a long history of making UI changes that irritate users.

Ok now I'm glad I didn't accept the offer to change. I still have the "old" app; can't figure out how to even get to the new app or have it install, so I won't. So there!

Just got the new update today and I really do not like it, in fact I hate it. The old version was so much better and easier to use, see what I needed to. Is there anyway to go back???

My thoughts on the new app. Don't upgrade!!
The new app is out. It pings you, asking if you want to upgrade, and makes clear you can't go back. I figured "sure, of course, I want the newer and better version."
I've had half a day with it now, and am confused. Here's why.
1. It provides nothing new. Seriously, nothing that I have noticed yet and I poked around quite a bit.
2. It took the bright satisfying colorful tiles and replaced them with rows (some of which have plus zones which allow you to add manual entries by mistake rather than give you the data for that row.
3. The layout was more customizable, now it looks like you're locked into Fitbit's preferences (e.g., challenges grabbing half the real estate on the home screen).
4. They hijacked the lower left "home" button you're used to and put the "we want to sell you this stuff" there, which ensures that out of habit you'll see their ads several times (as if you hadn't seen them a hundred times before). No, I don't want to pay for workouts.
5. The numbers and icons are all smaller. Do they understand they have a heavy demographic of older people? Now I can't really use the app without reading glasses, which I usually don't have out or handy. In any event, they've made it worse on that score.
6. I used to like challenges being tucked away on another menu. Now they're on the home screen. I don't want them there. Seriously, I have them all on DND for a reason. I want to control my phone, not the other way around. So I don't want challenges in my face. I like the social aspect of the challenges, but on my terms and time. If the alternative is to not participate to get those things off my home page, I may do that (heck maybe then leave the ecosystem altogether).
7. The home page tiles had bright cheery colors. The new top stats are small and drab and the challenge rows below have small, creepy icon collages. That isn't what I want on my front screen.
8. The front screen now requires way more scrolling than before. I think this is a user design feature that is starting to take over (think about the way they design new web pages these days: long home pages with big pictures that you have to scroll down). A lot of this, I think, is driven by cell phone usage of websites. But scrolling is WAY worse than not having to scroll.
Yeah, I get it, I'm complaining a lot about change. Here's the thing, though: what is the upside for the user here? I can't see anything they added or made better. Not a thing. It all looks like an effort to upsell a bit more, along with a app refresh led by someone who doesn't care or about the company's customers (or even know who they are) and thus made the app objectively worse from a user perspective..
As a shareholder who wants the company to succeed, I find this beyond distressing.

How do we go back to the previous dashboard? Can we uninstall this update? You've no doubt noticed on the forums and facebook etc that this has not been a popular change. I'm assuming that fitbit by now knows this as has formulated a plan to respond - any ideas on when we can expect a response to all the negative feedback and have a functional dashboard back - that's the point of a dashboard - an easy to see story presented graphically, but again I think fitbit would get that based on the feedback. I do apologise for the snarky tone, but I am feeling snarky - this is kind of crazy for a company that appears to want to engage its customers and be responsive.

Hello everyone. Thank you for sharing your feedback and thoughts about the new Dashboard. We appreciate your time sharing this.
Still if you wish you can share your suggestions in our Feature suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exist so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.
I'll be around.
