We appreciate the additional details.
Fitbit Update 07/16/2018: Hey everyone -- We have just released an update to the Fitbit app for iOS, version 2.53.1 which we believe resolves the issues with food logging that have been reported in this thread. Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.

Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.
While not ideal, you can log on Fitbit.com food log and it will populate on iOS correctly once you sync. You can log it here. We appreciate your cooperation. I'll continue to update this thread as I hear more.

All sorts of weird foods entering into my record - I have/am successfully losing weight by recording my calorie intake, so this is somewhat frustrating. Everything was absolutely fine until yesterday’s upgrade.

I have a Charge 2, it was working fine yesterday and previous food logs are still there. But it’s now adding random food and foreign words?!?! I tried to add 1 tsp of honey, up popped a grilled cheese panini at 650 calories!!!
Mice also noticed the foods I have entered, then disappear from the screen?

Disasters happen! Fitbit you will be judged on how quick you're going to fix this.
If this takes more then 3 days my next tracker will not be fitbit.

To the FitBit dev team:
Guys, just revert the merge and fall back to the last known good version until you find a fix in this release version. That is a far more appropriate solution than spending cycles tracing down the bug UNLESS you are 100% confident you can patch it quickly. The folks that use your devices and app depend heavily on their stability and accuracy, and something like logging food might not seem that big a deal, but for those of use on ketogenic diets for health or diabetes control, etc, logging is essential, and I'd rather not have to switch back to the MyFitnessPal app, if I don't have to. I like the fitbit ecosystem, and I know bugs get through to prod, but you should have standard rollback procedures for something this critical.

Yes! Mine won’t even let the food items show up in the log. It’s like they are saved but disappear immediately. When I close out of the app the calories disappear as well. Anyone found a way to fix this yet?

I had a chat conversation recently with a Fitbit representative and was told that they are working on the issue. He didn’t know when exactly this problem will be resolved.
