Update 7/19/2018: This issue is now resolved, please ensure your app is updated if you still experiencing this issue. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we worked on a fix. If you are still experiencing this issue, we would love to investigate further. The following would help our team review:

- Are you already updated to 2.53.1?
- What is the OS version that you are running on your iPhone?
- What food database are you using?(See Account>Advanced Settings>Food Database).
- What language are you using the app in?
- What foods are you trying to log?
- What specific interaction are you doing that is not working? (Adding, editing, deleting, scanning).
- What time/date did you see the issue?
We appreciate the additional details.
Fitbit Update 07/16/2018: Hey everyone -- We have just released an update to the Fitbit app for iOS, version 2.53.1 which we believe resolves the issues with food logging that have been reported in this thread. Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.
Update 7/15/2018:
Thanks everyone for your patience on this. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by this issue and have been working hard to find a fix. We are preparing to roll out an update tomorrow, July 16th to solve the problem. In the meantime, customers can use the food logging feature in the web dashboard: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log.
Update 7/14/2018: We do realize this is a critical issue and our team continues to work on the cause and a fix. We don't provide timelines, in case something occurs and it can't be met, but we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you again for your patience, reports, and cooperation.
Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.
While not ideal, you can log on Fitbit.com food log and it will populate on iOS correctly once you sync. You can log it here. We appreciate your cooperation. I'll continue to update this thread as I hear more.

This is annoying, and I use the barcode scanner to log a lot of my food.. I don’t WANT to turn my computer on every time I want to log food..

I love Fitbit but this issue is a show-stopper; it needs to be fixed immediately or it's time to start looking for another fitness tracker. Some of us rely on this functionality...very disappointed with Fitbit's lack of response. Do they even care?

Dashboard input does not sync with my phone either so workaround is a waste of time and effort. Allow us to ROLL BACK to the version that works Fitbit - PLEASE!!!!

Mine too I eat the same thing every day. I drink ORGAIN cholate fudge shakes. 250 calories each. Coming up “burnt salsa.” What ever that is.

It doesn’t it doesn’t work to enter on the website either. THere has to be a workaround? If I enter my foods into MyFitnessPal will it sync with my Fitbit app??

Also experiencing this issue! My marinara sauce just changed to shortbread cookies after logging! 28,000 calories of shortbread cookies. While that sounds like a heavenly feast, it was quite a shock to see my daily calorie total spike up to 30,000-plus calories over my budget. 😩😩😩

I was having a similar problem on my android phone, switched to an iPhone 7 over this past weekend, was running happily along tracking my food and now I'm getting this issue too. Please fix this ASAP! I rely on my Fitbit to track my food for my work health measures and when I'm on the go I cannot sit down and log into my computer all the time. This needs to be corrected immediately!...Please.

It doesn't work for me on iOS or FitBit.com. Every entry I make changes to MilkyWay Fun-size. Really?
(they are 428 calories each btw) PLEASE FIX THIS!

As logging on the computer isn’t practical for most of us. I decided to use MyNetDiary and then enter it into Fitbit at the end of the day. This way I can still stay mobile and still get it into Fitbit. However the quicker it gets fixed the better it will be for Everyone. We’re rooting for you Fitbit to get this fixed.

It’s a pain to input the food through Fitbit.com because I have to do it one item at a time when I use my phone. I don’t know if it’s different using my laptop if not but I am not going to drag my laptop out every time I need to log food. Your irregularities are the app inserting some random food item and erasing what I input.

Saddens me that an update meant to fix ”bugs” creates a massive bug! Isn’t there any trial run before these updates are delivered!! Now log can only be done via online dashboard!

Only some items are able to be added, mostly the ones in Most popular after hitting search. None of the items in custom can be added.

This just started happening to me yesterday. Making me crazy!!! Logs The wrong item, or it disappears completely, or the food disappears but the calories don’t. No rhyme or reason. I do not want to have to log into the website 6 times or more a day to log food. That’s not helpful when your always on the go.
