We appreciate the additional details.
Fitbit Update 07/16/2018: Hey everyone -- We have just released an update to the Fitbit app for iOS, version 2.53.1 which we believe resolves the issues with food logging that have been reported in this thread. Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.

Thanks everyone for your patience on this. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by this issue and have been working hard to find a fix. We are preparing to roll out an update tomorrow, July 16th to solve the problem. In the meantime, customers can use the food logging feature in the web dashboard: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log.
Update 7/14/2018: We do realize this is a critical issue and our team continues to work on the cause and a fix. We don't provide timelines, in case something occurs and it can't be met, but we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you again for your patience, reports, and cooperation.
Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.

I am unhappy with the workaround and looking at myfitnesspal as a replacement. The workaround works but the app should have been fixed by now.

Yes. Entries ether get deleted, record as something completely different, or won’t record at all. Anxious to get the fix that is promised to come out today!

Why not just promote 2.52 as a new build (say as version 2.54) and solve the issue in the background? We go back to a known good version and you can then have the time to fix it properly?????

It took a few minutes to set it up but myfitnesspal is now syncing with my fitbit. I think I'm going to like working with a system that makes inputting food not just easy but reliable.

It's not fixed. I just went onto my app to log food, and the same disappearing act occurred.

I have a Fitbit charge 2 tracker, which is paired with my iPad.
I was able to use my food/calorie tracker this morning, but now when I try to add anything, it keeps it for a second then it disappears.
My food log for yesterday included food I haven’t eaten - french food, meat - I’m a vegetarian! I’ve been able to delete this log.
But I’m unable to add anything I’ve eaten from lunch time onwards today.
Is this a bug? Worrying.
How do I resolve this problem using my iPad?

How about some sort of gift card compensation for this inconvenience? I’m ready to stop using Fitbit altogether since I cannot log my food. This is what I use daily to keep myself accountable.

Please get this food logging issue resolved! My logged food macros are a disaster......totally inaccurate, I am extremely discouraged with this issue. Logging from the dashboard is not a workaround, and the link to online logging is too cumbersome to use. Not user friendly! So discouraged and disappointed with Fitbit for rolling out a bug-filled update! A lesson I learned long ago...” if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! “

Will this update also fix all the other issues including bpm since last updates? My versa worked beautifully until that update now all it does correctly is count my steps quite upsetting.

Don’t suppose there’ll be the facility to add food retrospectively for the days that have been lost in the ‘new’ update?

Use Fitbit.com to enter the food it doesn’t seem to have affected that
