We appreciate the additional details.

Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.

Thanks everyone for your patience on this. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by this issue and have been working hard to find a fix. We are preparing to roll out an update tomorrow, July 16th to solve the problem. In the meantime, customers can use the food logging feature in the web dashboard: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log.
Update 7/14/2018: We do realize this is a critical issue and our team continues to work on the cause and a fix. We don't provide timelines, in case something occurs and it can't be met, but we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you again for your patience, reports, and cooperation.
Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.
While not ideal, you can log on Fitbit.com food log and it will populate on iOS correctly once you sync. You can log it here. We appreciate your cooperation. I'll continue to update this thread as I hear more.

Thanks again for your patience and reports.

Still doesn't work for me. Does anyone know if Garmin has an app that lets me track intake. It does a better job with accurate GPS and pulse accuracy, maybe I need to just make a switch.

I have the exact same experience. If you go to App Store, it is open only like I already updated when I did not. Meanwhile, I still cannot log in any of the food that I’m having problem with. Any suggestions?

Hi I hate updates because of troubles with them in the past. that's when I realised that I actually hadn't updated to ios 11. 4.1 yet. problem solved ☺once I updated and then saw the update button on the fitbit app.
Foods are once again adding as usual PHEW!!! Long may this continue.

I updated on 7/16 to be newest version and still am having the same issues. When I enter food online the calorie count/ macro shows up correctly in the app but all the actual foods are missing.

I'm sure most people know this - but if you want to double check whether you are running the new update or not you can do so as follows:
1. Tap the "account icon" top right of the app - it's the small rectangle with a circle and line in it.
2. This, not surprisingly, will display the account screen!
3. Scroll down - in the "Discover" section there is an option that says "Help" - tap that.
4. At the top of the Help screen, it says the version of the app that you are running. It should say: "Fitbit 2.53.1 (772)"
If for any reason it doesn't say that it means you don't have the latest version, and you need to update.
I'd would suggest that anyone whose app isn't currently behaving should double check that - just in case. If you have confirmed that you have 2.53.1 and are still having problems, then let Fitbit know and tell them that you have confirmed that you are running the latest release.
Hope that helps anyone who is not sure if they have the update or not.

You are right! Even thought Apple App Store says OPEN as the status of my Fitbit app. My Fitbit app is still
in the last version. Any suggestion how to update the app when the store
thinks you already did?

Thank you for fixing the problem with food input. Certainly hope its a learning experience for the firm on testing your products and taking swift actions to remedy an unfavourable situation. Both aspects are lacking badly in this episode.
Nevertheless - appreciate the effort. Thanks once again

Mine said Open also until I pressed it and held it down for a moment. Then it changes to update and I pressed that.
