Fitbit Update 03/09/17
Hi everyone -- Some good news to share! This issue should now be resolved!
If you were previously experiencing this issue on iOS, please try it again as our team has pushed out a fix. Feel free to give me some feedback about your post-fix experience. Thank you for your patience as we worked to get you all back on track.
Fitbit Update 2/28/17
It was recently brought to our attention that some iOS users are experiencing their mile splits for GPS workouts don’t add up to the total distance of their workout. Our team is aware of this issue and is currently working towards a fix.

Hi everybody,
To be more transparent, this is not an issue with the App or with any of the trackers' hardware; it's a bug on the back-end that our engineers are still in the process of fixing.
I anticipate that a fix will be available very soon and I will update this thread once it goes live. Apologies for any potential inconvenience.

Ok so after my rant earlier a really nice chap called me back and advised me to do the following:
Please check the mentioned troubleshooting steps and let us know of the outcome:
- Go to your online dashboard > Settings > Devices > Charge 2 and unpair your Charge 2, by scrolling the page to the bottom and click on -Remove this Charge 2 from your account.
- Uninstall your Fitbit app and then install it again.
- Set up your Charge 2 again, you can find instructions HERE in this article if needed.
So I've done this and then did a quick run this evening and touch wood!! It seems to have worked! It's logged and synced the correct miles, time and average pace. I'd totally recommend doing this and you won't lose any of your information.
Fingers crossed this is the end of the problem!

Hi Gayle77
Followed the steps you outlined just did a very quick walk using the activity tracker and the stats matched after ending the activity.
I will do some more checking tomorrow but hopefully its cleared for now

I have been communicating with Fitbit today and there isn't anything to download, update or install. The fix was a push out to all of our devices

Nothing to download the fix was a push

does this fix affect previous exercises? As this has not sorted out my exercises from the last two weeks

It did for me. I went back to my previously mismatched logs and they updated. Now my previous entries all show matching log/split/map distances.

@Pjd1300 thanks for confirming. going to take a guess either the fix hasn't worked for me or I have not received it.

I just synced my Charge 2. This fix hadn't worked for my previous runs. They still show the wrong summary data. However, today's run is showing accurate splits and summary data.

No fix for me yet.
Still broken.

Just logged a tracked walk and it was spot on. Didn't do anything different apart from charge my Alta overnight, and went out for a walk as usual. Whatever Fitbit has done, it worked for me.

P.S. All my previous incorrectly tracked walks are still incorrect, however. But as long as the issue has been resolved going forward, I can live with that.

So I've just done another walk and tracked it through the App and now seems to be all OK.
Finally!

I have a similar but different problem that only manifested today and may not really be a problem. I'll know more after the next walk along the same route. See the attached picture. The one on the right is today's walk; the one on the left is the same park/similar route from two (2) days ago. The fitbit (Charge2) accurately tracked my steps and distance but the exercise tracker (which relies on GPS?) missed sections of the walk.
Any idea what is causing the gaps and skips? The big difference today was that I walked LATER in the day (around noon) in stead of early in the AM.
@Aholler wrote:On my last walk it is showing a completely different route then what I walked. It has the Poper time, day and distance but the wrong map. The proper map is to the right if you touch the arrow to the right of the wrong map.
Moderator Edit: Clarified Subject.

Yes I have exactly the same problem. The map is from a few days ago but when I tap on it the correct map then appears to be right. There are gremlins in this App at the moment. Needs sorting and updating please Fitbit

Very well said. Distance travelled on my partner's Blaze is so inaccurate it's worthless as a tracker. He had TomTom watch before and that was always spot on. Invested in Blaze and it's off by at LEAST 20%.
