Step streak reset to zero on iOS Fitbit app

My streak was broken 8 days ago despite me not having failed my step goal. I believe this was caused by me lacking internet connection so the app not updating with my full steps. I would like to resolve this and restore my streak.

How about an update on how to have an accurate step streak.  Mine went from 440+ days to 4 !!   Help would be appreciated.

Mine is an iPhone 12; 16.4.1.
I was doing nothing when I saw the step streak was incorrect - I’d just waked up.  It could have happened over night.
I’d not had any synching issues.

The step Street reset has nothing to do with you or your iPhone. This problem first started four or five years ago and has not yet been corrected. Starting last August many of us had our step streak information reset multiple times. As you can see in the iOS community there have been multiple threads connected And dare to say everyone who has reported this wondered was it some thing I’ve done, was it my phone or is it something to do with the software. I Google/Fitbit has a strong commitment to the android platform and it has iOS users I believe we come in Second place. I am a blind user, and have been trying to get accessibility issues addressed related to the Apple voiceover screen, reading software. So far they have not ignored my request to make the application friendly for blind and reading disabled users so they can share the same experience as cited users. I will continue to advocate in this for him And with Google Disability Support and Fitbit customer care. Fitbit customer care does not have a disabilitie support team so people with reading and other disabilities have nowhere to go with questions, answered and help in achieving the best outcomes using the Fitbit tracking devices.

I have dictated this on my iPhone SE 5G and know that it is not as clear as it should be. I hope you will be able to understand the message intent. In the meantime, I will continue to advocate in this forum for people who have disabilities, especially those who are blind and reading disabled.

Can you please help me with this issue that's been going on 2-3 months? Everytime I hit a step streak of 10+ days, Fitbit automatically resets to 4 days. I'm close to a 35 day step streak again. This has happened atleast 6 times in the past 3 months. How do we resolve this?

My step streak reset. I tried the looking up what to do in this forum, but all of the posts were from last year.

The reset has nothing to do with you. There is nothing you can do to fix the issue. Fitbit is aware of this problem and it goes back years. It appeared to get worse back in August. My step streak has been reset twice and I am one of the lucky ones. Oth Others have had their Steph streak stat count. Reset multiple times within very short periods. Fitbit customer care will tell you to delete the app then reinstall it delete your connection to Bluetooth and reconnect. None of these things work, and it is apparently beyond Fitbit/Google Disability to fix the issue. We can only hope that with the upgrades Google is promising that our step streaks will be restored to what they were prior to resets.

Thank you for your quick and informative response. I’ll try not to let it frustrate me, at least I’m not alone.

So this has been an issue for a very long time. What is being done. I’m so tired of never getting things resolved. We are not children to placate. We pay for these devices and want answers

I had a 965 day step streak going and it reset for no reason! I didn’t miss a day!

How can I recover my streak?

It appears with the last upgrade I no longer see a step streak. That’s one
way to fix it!

Your step streak may reappear in the next couple of days, stating that it is now a four day step streak, and the information that previously existed will no longer be available. It is not uncommon for someone to notice that their step streak no longer appears and then re-appears at the four day mark. There is nothing you can do about it. Fitbit is aware of it. Google is aware of it, and it does not appear to be a priority to fix this problem.

So what is the update to this thread with what details the “team” offered for this problem that so many of us have? It is disappointing that you react to our concerns by moving our comments to a different thread.  Fix the problem. It is counting 1,2,3, 4 etc. I learned in elementary school.  Don’t move the thread. Fix the problem. Pay attention to your customers.

They won’t fix it.

Sadly you are exactly right.  The (incorrect) banner disappeared after it (incorrectly) said I had a 290 step streak even though I have had 10,000 steps a day since July 19th.  Yesterday the banner disappeared.  It just reappeared —in incorrect FitBit addition it should have said 293. Nope. It says 4. I know that some of their personnel are well aware of the problem and it does not seem to be anything like a priority to fix it.  I’m shopping for something new and will shout from the rooftops about their horrid customer support.  Anything but FitBit!!!!

@Deboradarling Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a way to restore a lost step streak. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Personally, I keep track of my step streaks in my own spreadsheet because of this reason.

Thank you for replying. I realize that the achievement is our own anyways… I still haven’t missed a day and I will soon reach 1000 days… I just would have liked to see my step streak officially reach 1000 days on the app.

Hi, I just reported a problem with the app and get the message “Due to recent events affecting our operations, we may need more than 7 business days to respond.”. Anyone know what’s going on?.

I don’t know but the app keeps skipping exercises and days. It’s new and I just want my money back. This is crazy.

I have around a 245 day 10000 step streak. Last Wednesday the band broke on my versa 2 so I switched to my old charge 2. Yesterday I noticed that the banner on my Fitbit page says I had a 5 day step streak. When I click on steps, it shows that I was over 10,000 for the last 245 (or so) days. I know it’s a little thing but it bugs me. Any help would be appreciated

I have advanced emphysema. Getting 10k/day is a goal that  I set for myself to remain as healthy as possible, for as long as possible. I missed two weeks last July (due to COVID) but I was at 300 days when it reset. It seems like a little thing but it was something that made me feel good when I saw another day added to my streak. Now I’m at 6 days, even though I didn’t miss any days. It’s really a bummer that this thread is years old yet no fix. I’m really disappointed in this product

I totally understand how frustrating that is especially when we have medical issues and work so hard to keep going. I’m definitely done with Fitbit after this. I’ve owned several over the years but I just cannot take this lack of response and respect for us, their customers.

Still happening. Almost a year later, Still no fix. Time to look at other fitness watch options that work.

I found that if I open the app on my phone and resync on the day when I reach my 10,000 step goal, my consecutive day counter increments. If I wait until after midnight or the next day, my count got reset.

I posted this finding several weeks ago but got no replies either confirming or disproving it.
